If you are venturing out onto track then I'd suggest slotted for the reasons mentioned above. If not, you'll just be wearing your pads out quicker and more crucially for me, creating more brake dust to clean of the car every week or two! Vented, flat discs are generally more than enough unless you regularly get up to 100 mph in the ring road roundabout race.

Good efforts, I was only cursing yesterday to myself at how tatty mine look!
-
Have you seen the state of mine?

It just keeps telling me to perform a legal u turn though... -
I'm easy myself and a weekend afternoon is more likely to attract the numbers but I do appreciate having a family and the run up to Christmas will make life difficult for some.

Cheers dude. It took a while to make sure it all sat flush, I'm not a real fan of after market radios sticking out. -

A very poor (now that I look on a proper screen) quality picture or 2 of the interior in daylight! -
Nice one on getting it sorted.

How much for a set of carriers? I'm happy for a grotty set as they'll be cleaned up.
-
Do you have any 312 carriers Tom?

Isn't there an up gt due out at some point soon?

Our neighbour has just bought a 4 month old demonstration model 1.6 diesel zetec s. It has already had its engine changed due to an oil leak in its demonstration period which resulted in the engine being run complety dry. The dealership has been nothing but useless and when it broke down the other day they wanted nothing to do with it. There was a broken power control module of some sort which had a bent electrical pin and the cost to repair was over a grand which nobody wanted to accept as warranty to start with. I had a 1.25 petrol to drive from the east Midlands to Fort William and I loved it, lack of power aside. I did 850 miles in 2 stints and arrived feeling refreshed, considering the type of car, I was impressed. But the customer service, or in this case, the complete lack of it by Ford has put me off buying any car in the future from them. I know that no car is immune to its faults but when the customer service is so lacking, I wouldn't go near the brand as a whole. My experience of VW hasn't always been perfect, but my recent experience has been very good. There does seem to be a real push for customer service within the last year or 2 which can only be a good thing.

You've done a neat job with that!

Was that Charles Trent by any chance? I've been there twice and I've found them hit or miss on part prices. Maybe he charged you that because you e rendered a gearbox useless to them in their eyes? Either way, it will be worth it in the end. I'm pretty chuffed with the conversion myself. I drove mine back to back with Mics car and that has your short shift mod and found that the o2j shift mechanism was a bit heavier but just as nice to use. The throw was also quite short but that's because I had to cut a couple of inches from the gear stick it self. Maybe a different tower weight will improve the heavier feel.

That's some good casting skills! Not bad for the money I think.
-
I wonder if they're 3d printed or cast? Quite a complicated shape.
-
Correct, except it's 92
-
Try a scrappy for the tower, mine cost a fiver. Very worthwhile mod.
-
£500 and you'll be set for a few years of relatively trouble free motoring.
-
That's always a good thing. The bit I like most about having it fitted is the feel of the pedal and how well and square it pulls up. Are you fitting 288s and braided lines as well?
-
Nice one! I really like this brake setup.
-
No probs. Have you got a mk3 system to go in its place? I've bound to have forgotten if you had!
