I don't even have the Golf light at the moment! I'll just keep an eye out! There was a loom a few minutes ago on ebay, but it seems to have disappeared already!

Cheers mate, I've got a full TEVES 20 system that I bought from Kevin Bacon a few months ago. I've already fitted the mk3 servo, I just ran a die down the servo shaft to allow the Corrado fork arrangement to fit properly. I don't have a ABS light though, I'll go on the hunt for one! The wiring looks simple enough which is a nice change after fitting the 24v lump! The front/rear brake lines are corroded through and I was in the process of replacing them when I decided to just bite the bullet and fit the mk3 system I had in the garage. The valve has long since been removed! This on top of the 288 brake and full braided lines means that the entire braking system will be replaced!

Nice one mate! I don't have easy access to a welder so will have to try and find another way for now! Any tips for me?

Kev is right, I took it apart this afternoon to have a gander and was met with said 45' angle. I got over it by popping some man pills and swapped the servo over and ran a die down the mk3 pedal attachment to allow the stock corrado attachment to the pedal to work. I've now removed the mechanical side of the abs system and now need to figure out how to mount the mk3 pump. Any ideas? As a side note, ill be selling on my fully functional abs system later this evening if anybody is after parts.

I have just sent him a message but I thought I could make the answer public in case anybody else wanted to know or in case there was a quicker response.

I've got the complete mk3 ABS system i'm thinking of fitting to my C as part of the rebuild. The only differences I see are that the Servo's have different attachment methods, I can go ahead and make the MK3 servo fit, but I don't want to fight the old servo out (it's a pig with a 24v in the way!). Question is simple, can I fit the mk3 master cylinder to the Corrado (VR6) servo? What are the pro's and cons of doing this? The rest of the fit doesn't bother me too much and I need to replace the front rear brake lines anyway so that's not a problem. I have searched the forum but nothing concrete comes up. Cheers

The 12v oil coolers are Known to be a bit weak given their age but i'm sure you said that the 24v was fitted. I'm pretty sure that the 12v and 24v coolers are interchangeable so it may be worth fitting the 12v back on for diagnosis purposes? There will be a bit of a temperature difference between the sump and the oil filter housing where the temperature readings are taken but should only be around 5 degrees or so. How old is the filter?

We went yesterday! Brilliant day! -
I know the 4mo and r32 pumps are different. The R32 sump is shallower than the others and has a shorter pickup as a result. The pickup is only available from vag with the pump.

No vacuum reservoir on my AUE. Goes from rear of intake manifold, along to the fuel regulator tee off and then down to the solenoid which then controls the variable flap. ---------- Post added at 11:59 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:58 PM ---------- No check valve from memory but I'll check tomorrow.

I know it's a bit of a cop out, but read this post. It goes into plenty of detail about the differences. Click

Have a look at C and R, they do full sets of braided hoses with the conversion or standard hoses. I know it's a ball ache but if you fit braided lines to the front only, you will put more stress on the other rubber flexi hoses as the braided lines resist swelling of the rubber hoses. If you leave the rear 4 rubber hoses, then the swelling you reduced in the front hoses will just transfer to the rear hoses. Click Good lines, I have them myself.

The solenoid closest to the alternator is for the SAI. Ignore it.

Silly question but it was torqued up correctly? There are 2 different ways to torque the hub nut. One of the methods involves a high torque and the other a fairly low one. To me, experience says that's been torqued up far too tight. Apologies if you did it correctly, but there are a lot of garages out there who just air gun these nuts down and send them out the door. If the nut is done up too much, it can bind the bearing causing it to overheat. When you match that heat to a cv shaft that is under high tension when it shouldn't be it leads to this exact style of clean shear.
