I have managed to damage the thread for the oil pressure switch in the filter housing while messing about with different sender units! It’s not leaking (yet) but will not tighten up properly. Not sure if they are a generic part across the Corrado range but mine is a 1990 16v Anyone help? TIA

I recently fitted an oil pressure gauge and vdo twin pole sender. When the oil temperature got to approx. 90 degrees and at idle speed the oil warning light started flashing. I read on the forum that the sender should be one that had a 0.5 bar low warning setting and as mine had 1.5 I changed it but still the same result. I then tried 10w40 oil – same result. I was then advised it was probably the oil pump so I ordered one but before fitting decided to go back to the original pressure switch (blue) and the light no longer flashes! Does anyone have any ideas - I might as well change the pump since I have bought it but wondered if there is another explanation

Hi Recently had new front wheel bearings fitted to my 16v - should they be checked and nipped up like the rear ones do? If so how do you go about it? Thanks for any help

Did a bit of messing about with playlists and editing album names to give the following display on head unit!

Turns out the duty was only £5 for vat - bloody royal mail wanted £8 "handling charge" - *******s!

Hi I was applying sound deadening to the car today and with much swearing at skinned knuckles as I tried to apply to the outer skin of the rear 3/4 panels I wondered if filling the space between the inner and outer skins with expanding foam might be an option - anyone done it or have any thoughts?

Just a heads up to anyone thinking of buying from the US - I had to pay £13 in duty!!!!
-
Great link - just ordered one - many thanks

Nope - seems it will not fit. Think I will go for ECP part - although its more expensive it is German made.
-
Thanks - I have used them as well so will contact them to ensure fit

Hi - I'm not living in Edinburgh at the moment (250 miles away in Skye!) - I contacted VW (TPS) in Sighthill and they say that the oil pump for early 16v corrado is obselete - hence my efforts to source the next best option.
-
Seems there is a difference - certainly in price between the two (GSF £46 - ECP £63) - anyone got any info on the quality of either?
-
Sorry - I meant £160 for two i.e £80 per corner as you say Anne - still good value. better still at £53 delivered Mr L - but I dought you would deliver to IV55 for that price (if you do - I will be in touch!)

Hi Just thought people might be interested in my options of the Falken Ziex ZE-912 I recently purchased. I have always bought the very best tyres I could find (last purchases were Good Year Eagle F1) but budget restraints meant I had to try and compromise this time around. I fitted two of the Falkens to my 16v a few weeks ago (205/45/R16) and I have to say I am impressed and will be fitting them to the back as well asap. At £60 each fitted (blackcircles.com) excellent value. HTH

Well it appears febi no longer make one for my early 16v either so if anyone has any thoughts on GSF or ECP (probably the same item!) pump I would be grateful. Many Thanks
-
No - they never got back to me, I ended up getting some good second hand ones and I'am refurbishing them now before getting them fitted along with new accumulator, filter etc

Just called tps in Edinburgh for a price comparison and it would appear that oil pumps for my car are obsolete! So febi it is - thanks wormy

Hi Looks like I need a new oil pump for my 1990 16v - would prefer VW OE but as my nearest dealer is 200 miles away I rely on mail order quite a bit! I have found a Febi unit from http://www.germanautopartsdirect.co.uk/shopping_cart.php?page=6 and that appears to be a very reasonable price but doeasanyone have any experience or thoughts on Febi parts? Thanks

Hi Rod - passenger side rear end piece - how much do you want for it?
-
Hi Rob Its the passenger side rear - many thanks ---------- Post added at 11:21 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:17 AM ---------- Just to confirm - the part I need is actually present in that photo i.e. the part at the end of the roof rubber - if any one has the cap that dumptyboy needs
-
Noticed the other day that the cap was loose and thought "I must fix that" - Noticed this morning - It's disapeared!!!!!!!!!! So - does anyone have one? - I believe they are obsolete from dealers. TIA

Hi Got the chance to buy some OZ saturn 16 inch ET37 wheels with 205/45/16 tyres on. Will they be ok with my 16v with eibach lowered springs? I am running with BMW E30 BBS wheels at the moment with 195/50/15 (not sure of offset) and with passengers and full load of fuel the rear arch hits the tyre on a severe bump on the road. Will the OZ give me a similar problem? TIA

Hi I used to have a valeting franchise called waterless detailers - its a great product and I still use it on my own car!

Hi I recently contact power-steering-store about getting the fuel pipes that run between accumulator/filter/pump made up. He has come back and said that he could make them if he could be supplied with originals to copy (are they the same as Mk2 golf?). The normal price would be £60 for the 3 pipes but he would do a discount (still to be decided)for a group buy So - is anyone interested and also anyone got old units that could be sent to him?
