Well whatever happens the grey one is staying! it hit me today quite how attached i've got to it, so i'm just gonna get on with it now, might just order some coil overs for her too:-)
-
Now I'm starting to think have both! use the green one for track fun and restore the grey one and keep it nice and shiny?! I've got a new tenant in my flat too...
-
Had a spin in my old car, went well and has got everything on it that i'm looking to do to my grey one. But i'm still none the wiser and i do love the grey, my car seemed to have a bit more feel in its steering compared to the old green one? maybe a trait of it being lowered? Green one sounded alot better as i remember with the bmc and exhaust, but starting to feel guilty about not carrying the grey one through as i told myself i would, and everyone needs something thats not perfect so they can tinker right?!
-
I actually swapped the green one for this I had a scooby years ago which had prodrive everything and was great fun but i just didn't feel right driving the impreza so i sold up and went for the grey one i have now. And dox i disagree on struggling for a sale, yes there are alot of corrado's for sale but most of them are either green or blue and have a boring spec. The close up pics really show a poor light on what really is a lovely looking car especially with the cream heated leather contrasting with the grey. It's also had a lady owner since 2006 and has been very well looked after, mechanically its excellent.

The price I was quoted for the bodywork is a very top price so I would think it easily could be put right for 4-£500, the chap I went to see is v very good. Just weighing up what suspension exhaust and all the other bits the green one has on it and it does look appealing, I'd have buy all that:-(

Please have a look in the members gallery, there's a few pics there:-)

Well I'm going to have a drive in the green one tomorrow night, it's had lots of new bits like lambda etc so I'll see how it goes, ill report back...
-
Well yeah that's also an option, but the body on the green one is solid, just the colour:-( Also the engine in the grey is spot on, doesn't burn oil like all the others I've had and doesn't smoke at all when given a bit of stick The grey one would be a slow burner project but it's just a shame about the arches, my heart says keep the grey and head says go with the green/-) Funds are low at the mo too as I have a tennant moving out of my flat so I may have to find rent and mortgage next month, thats why the green already sorted option is appealing, if I had the cash I would have both.

I'm in a bit of a dilemma in whether to keep my recently purchased storm grey 93 vr6 or sell it and purchase my old vr6 which has just been offered back to me which was previously edds corrado on here. My plans for my current vr is to make it a bit sharper and perhaps use it for a couple of track days and just enjoy it so i was planning to add suspension, exhaust and bmc etc but my old one has all of this already fitted. But then i love the storm grey colour along with the cream heated leather and with the bodywork sorted it would be a lovely car. On the other hand my old one is pearl green which isn't my favourite colour but it benefits koni/h&r struts, fully rebuilt stealth rebored engine with 80,000 miles, vibratechs engine mountings, a bmc, black leather which i fitted and the body work is all there. My current grey one needs £500-£700 spending on the bodywork and is totally standard so i still have to fork out for the suspension and other bits to turn it into a bit more of what i want. What shall i do? Hers a pic of both cars, first the storm grey And the green one

On the flip side I've owned my trusty old e46 330d sport for four years now, 185,000 miles and not a thing has gone wrong with it! doesn't even burn any oil between services, best car I've owned to date, and it did help that a best mate was service manager at ryebrook bmw:-) I keep toying with sellng up but sometimes I do 600 miles a week and blowing 5-10 grand on a newer model for it to depreciate with mileage is a no no. I can get 50mpg with 500nm so ill stick with the slightly better steering of my e46 One day ill just buy a 335d sport saloon and that will last me forever:-) Oh went in one of these the other day as a friend is after sales manager at a local dealer, bit sluggish but picks it's feet up when asked:-D but erm slightly out of the 5k budget!

Supposed to be a great car the mk5 gti, I certainly wouldn't pass on one. But for me after owning remapped golf diesels, audi s4's, imprezas and much more I settled on a 330d sport. For me an e90 bmw 330d remapped to 300bhp has got to be about the best all round everyday car out there, and great fun with rear wheel drive, cruise, solid build and not a bad sounding engine for a diesel! I love my vw's and will always have a corrado tucked away but the German blue and white badge takes some beating.

Ah thanks portent, I will pass these pics onto my sprayer and tell to hand me your car back;-) Looks lovely
-
Just done the front door membrane on mine, now bone dry:-)
-
Well it looks quality from where im sitting:-) Looking forward to some more pics. And i know what you mean about the taste thing, i feel i could drive the corrado anywhere, definatly a timeless shape and hopefully plan to keep mine forever now for what they are worth these days! Ps, are those 16" split RX2's? the ch's are nice but i think 17" is too big on the corrado.
-
They both look very nice:-))) God mine need alot of work!
-
Hope you don't mind, but I'm looking to model my storm grey vr6 to look exactly like yours;-) Very nice:-) any more pics going spare?!
-
Very nice and welcome, that lovely leather doesn't look like it's done 128,000! i'm after a set of those wheels for my vr too:-)

It's fairly easy to swap the glass to be honest but I would check the wiring first before pulling the headlining out. And then you would have to change the slide screen as you wouldn't benefit from the glass with the standard sunroof:-( Quite happy I've got no interior leaks now even with this monsoon weather were having and definatly feels better in the cabin with the glass
-
Hell yeah! been using her all over christmas:-)and definatly feels better after being used for a few days and run on some shell nitro. Me and the misses even went for a (ahem) sunday drive in it the other day, forgotten how good the steering feel is on the old corrado, knocks spots off my 330d. Adams also sent me a pm stating he's found the service booklet and owners manual which is a bonus and i have told him to keep an eye on the thread as come march time i will be looking to get the bodywork sorted.
-
Thanks for all the help, got it sorted in the end but had to do way more cutting to get mine to fit, also fitted dave 16v's centre console fix while i was at it:-) Heres mine fitted
-
I think you have to space the sunroof down with washers also, just done exactly this to mine, swapping the panels over is easy

Every corrado I've had has had a loose rattly centre tunnel, if you've ever had one as a daily driver it's drives you mad! And I bought the rado with the golf mk4 handbrake already installed but needed finishing, the benefits of the mk4 hand brake lever are it's full leather, doesn't have the annoying plastic cover that always pops up and you have to clip back down, basically looks and works ten times better:-) And yeah the spray dude is a top man, one of my pet hates is a bad colour match and he really is very good, he has his own bodyshop but honda also use him to do their repair work, he's the nuts:-D

Managed to finish the interior today, mainly the golf mk4 handbrake mod and dave 16v's centre console fix, also one of the runner clips had come off the drivers seat and also got the passenger heated seat working again after I discovered it had been unplugged?? Weirdly though the drivers heated seated used to work but now doesn't? would it be a simple case of a fuse gone? Anyway heres some pics, first off I had to drill the handbrake switch for it to stay into position Then installed it and checked light went off Then got on with cutting the under tunnel so it fits over the mk4 handbrake, I did follow someone's guide but I found I had to do a lot more cutting so the handbrake would go all the way down when released Then onto fitting dave 16v's centre console fix which works a treat, loads of bits missing though so I had to find my own fixings Then to finish, got the top cover on, which I also had to modify to fit! Next on the list is the bodywork which isn't the best. Took the corrado to a chap who does all of Hondas spraying for a quote and I'm looking at around £700 to sort out the rear arches and the other bits which I though was a great price as he is spot on with his work, he did my 330d a while back and made an excellent job.

Well done guys, thats gonna help a bit;-)

I've not long purchased a vr6 which has a mk4 golf hand brake lever installed but not quite finished. Has anybody done this upgrade and kept the centre console standard as at the mo I have the hand brake installed but I cannot see how all the plastic trim fits around the later mk4 lever? I also have dave16v's centre console fix to have a go at over Christmas so just seeing if I have to revert back to the standard hand brake lever or I can keep the mk4 item which is actually really nice as it's cream leather which matches the interior I have done search and couldn't find a lot
