  1. Cool, that would be a great help, thanks:-)
  2. Does anybody have a sunroof for sale from a late 93 onwards corrado as the donor I was using to repair mine is no good:-( Basically the cartridge is all good but the front fixing runner has snapped, so can I buy individual pieces? I have tried to remove parts from a donor sunroof which didn't go that well. Is my donor sunroof from an early corrado? as the switchgear doesn't line up or is my sunroof cartridge out of my 93 corrado which has a moonroof actually a passat item? Here's some pics to compare the two, please can somebody help me out with either a replacement sunroof or gubbins here's the two cartridges side by side, the one that was removed from my 93 car has the rear drain pipes which go straight out of the rear Next the two motors from each old and new sunroofs, donor is the one with wires coming out of it. Next the barcode from the cartridge, frame removed from my car, it's says 93 on the motor I've removed from the car so surely this isn't a complete passat cartridge and moonroof? I'm confused and need to get the sunroof fixed asap as it's in my mates unit and is using up space, can anybody help, please!:-)

Sealed the tiny holes in the bulkhead under the Ecu last night and put everything back in the scuttle, will test for further leaks tonight then if leak free will be refitting the sunroof as my mate should have it fixed by today:-)
  4. The heater matrix has just been done, so definatly not that, coolant level is smack on also, might check the sort membrane just to be safe but it's definatly the three holes that's letting water in
  5. On investigation I have found three tiny holes which have been drilled in 3mm drill bit size, must of been drilled from inside the car outwards maybe to fit a tracker or alarm etc? this was right under where the ecu sits, also the foliage cover was not the best so will be sorting this out tonight There is a pic of the offending hols in the members section under storm grey vr6, can't seem to link photos at the mo
  6. Ok thanks, gonna have a look at sorting his tomorrow night

Would that work?? mate was gonna weld it but he was worried about the sound deadening catching fire so i think ill just treat it put some sealant in there for now

The holes look like somethings been mounted from inside the bulkhead, alarm or tracker maybe? as theres no way you would get a drill bit inside the scuttle area! wierd one

Good bit of progress today trying to find where the leak was coming from and also removing the sunroof to fix and sort that out. First off was to remove all trim pieces to remove headlining, also removed some old aerial cable and alarm cable which was cut at both ends Then out with the sunroof The sunroof was in a bad shape with a broken fixing point and also the bonding had gone causing the roof to lift from its mountings, going to investigate more tomorrow night as emphasis was on fixing the passenger side leak today Now on with removing the carpets Found floor to be wet through so removed sound deadening to dry out Condensation collecting inside roof! Then decided to get the car outside and pour water over the passenger side windscreen door area which then revealed three drips from inside the car under the scuttle and near the fan blower, heres my mate blowing out the scuttle with an air line Found the foilage seal in a bad way so will replace this tomorrow Also removed the ecu and found three drilled holes?? underneath which are letting water in, will be sealing these tomorrow also So a good day and pretty sure i've found the cause of my wet floor wells. Next up is to get everything back in and try to make a working sunroof from two that i have and then tackle the bodywork
  10. Ok cheers, i managed to get the sunroof out today and there a few pieces broken. Can i simply use the bits from my working sunroof and put them into my original sunroof assembly? Here is the broken piece that caused the roof to lift Gonna have a look at it again tomorrow night in depth more as we concentrated more on finding the source of an interior leak i also have
  11. Was the clear glass sunroof, (moonroof) an optional extra on a 1993 vr6? The corrado is with my friend at the mo for a sunroof fix as it is completely non working, it even wants to lift up and out the car at 60+ mph! Question, i have another sunroof so can i use this frame and transfer my moonroof to it? or should i just use working bits from the working sunroof to repair my moonroof? Also i have a sliding interior sunroof panel with slats which manually seems to slide forwards and backwards, (which is also stuck) which is nothing like my old car which had a panel which moved with the sunroof opening and closing action, is the slatted panel standard with the moonroof? Just going down now to have a closer look at it all, was going to have a go at it myself but my mate is very handy so might just let him tackle it:-)
  12. Pretty sure that's been changed recently??
  13. Thanks for the link, ill have a punt on those as I don't need the full 10
  14. Yeah i've got the vent cover, just removed it for photos. And just rang listers vw and the clips were made obsolete from july this year:-(, so vw heritage is looking like my bet
  15. I had a 2003 golf gti 150 diesel which was mapped by mrc tuning in banbury, (audi rs tuners) and its been the closet thing to a revvy petrol engine yet. It would fly round to 5250rpm and hit the limiter, none of this treacle i need to change gear feeling, it was just bang next gear just like a vr. Unfortunatly i was hoping my remapped 330d would be the same but no, i have to change at 4200rpm according to the rolling road printout and i can certainly feel the power tail off past this point, but 370lbft at 2250rpm makes up for it:-D A for kr or vr? the vr6 also makes a great grand tourer as its a nice flexible lump and cruises comfortably on the motorways, vr6 everytime for me
  16. What was the reasonable price edd?, if you don't mind me asking
  17. First job I am tacking with my new corrado vr6 is a footwell leak I have in the rear and front passenger footwells. I removed the foliage tray to find that the scuttle panels have fallen victim to a poorly fitted windscreen in the past whereby most of the fixing clips are either not there and the scuttle panel has been stuck down with bonding agent. Would these holes below where the clips should fit let in water? If this is the source of the leak after I've done a bit more investigating then I need to source some new fixing clips and the rubber grommets the fit into the scuttle, I've done a search and I take it I can get the clips from vw but the rubber grommets I have to get from elsewhere? Might nip to my local dealers today and see what they can get, can't get
  18. Whoops, wrong link these were supposed to be a vr6 fitment for a jetta
  19. Does anybody know if these would fit a vr6? http://bit.ly/19hHHaC
  20. Your twighlight vr looks v very nice:-) I also maybe on the lookout for the above wheels, are these the corse challenge speedlines? I don't think I'll have much luck sourcing a second set in 16" of these and I bet they cost £££ new

Adam was a top man and also a lovely family, couldn't of wished for a nicer family to buy the car from, and could tell the vr6 was one of the family and felt especially bad that his mum missed the car being driven away:-( But rest assured it's gone to a good home, I'm a 37 year old father now and had my first vr6 when I was 21 or so and have had my fair share of performance cars over the years but I always new I would end up back in a vr6, they definatly have character:-) Going to take the corrado down to my friends unit tonight so we can have a look underneath and also get the sunroof sorted along with the passenger footwell leak which needs sorting asap. Then I'll be handing the car to another friend who is a an A1 bodywork specialist who will be returning the corrado to its former glory. And I've driven enough vr6's to know if they've been looked after and this one definatly has, my friend drive the car home and kept pace with my remapped 330d so definatly nothing wrong with the power side of things:-) I'll keep the thread updated with some before and after bodywork photos and also subtle plans I have for the car such as koni/coilovers and Bmc etc You can tell Adam I'm very happy with the car and it will be looked after:-)

Ah good to know as it's not as bad as I first thought, but cutting out the bad would be a proper job, well a new quarter would be a proper job! When I've got an experts opinion on the case I may well be in touch:-) cheers I'll keep progress updated but maybe after chrimbo now, if I want to keep my wheels, (on me not the car)

Yeah funny that, i had a bit of a drive in it earlier and everything felt light and airy in the cabin for a change, as every rado i've had has had black interior! Quite a refreshing change to be honest, and for me makes it a bit more special, dare i say it even more than a storm??? but know where your coming from. I've got tan leather in the bm also which i've grown to love so can't see it being a problem:-)
