  1. Oh well you know where we are and you are most welcome, as indeed are all
  2. Oh we can do soooo much more than tracking :)
  3. Or indeed save your tooling budget from an exceptional hit, and get yourself down to JMR where we can do the job for you while you enjoy a day on the sunny southern Sussex coast :)
  4. They do and this tool has been around for many years now. We use this tool for setting camber on the Corrado and similar. We have modified another of these tools for use on modified cars with much lowered suspension and wider wheels. Works great, but does need the camber to be ideally set positive before installation, by doing this there is more space to position the tool and the vehicle weight works in your favour when setting the camber.
  5. Would love someone to offer a resolve to this error code as it plagues my IPhone access to Taptalk, but never my IPad? Any bright IT types out there got any answers??
  6. Component must be renewed. If an item is unseized successfully then it would be most unlikely for it to become so after such a short time. Indeed good engineering sense would have the joint suitably lubricated to prevent such. As for adjust of the toe setting, both sides of the rack require adjustment with the steering wheel locked in position with the correct tooling. Alignment carried out correctly should not require re-attending to within such a short period of time. This is of course given that all component faults have been rectified and the vehicle is not travelling over excessively rough surfaces on a daily basis. We would be happy to look after your alignment requirements, if of course our location in West Sussex is convenient. Happy to offer advise in any event. Regards, John JMR Ltd
  7. We have full alignment facilities at our workshops and we regularly carry out complete wheel geometry adjustment on Corrado. All Corrados only have front wheel camber and toe adjustment capability, but we often have to re align the rear torsion beam after suspension work. Yes we often find that track rod ends are partially or fully seized, and this can be overcome with careful heat application. We use an inductor to heat components, we find it safer and more controllable than traditional oxy-acetylene. However, if a component is so seized that the heating process requires the component to be allowed to glow cherry red or brighter, then this v
  8. Sounds like you are a victim of the law according to sod! Charger rebuild it is then. Swap hats moment, can we help ? ;)
  9. Given your 6PK belt set up and the modified tensioner in use, I would suggest the cause of your bearing failure is unlikely to be an over tensioned belt. These tensioners are not able to generate such load as to over tension the belt, this is part of their design. Yes this tensioner is modified, Jabbasport used this configuration to overcome the loss of belt tension, when using a reduced diameter charger pulley, and it has worked well over many years on a good number of G60 engines. Your problem with early failure of a drive end bearing could be due to a number of reasons, some of these being, oil quality, oil supply, bearing quality and fit in the casing. If indeed this is charger bearing noise / failure then indeed you do require to address this fault immediately. Be advised however that a great number of bearings are located in this area and all can resonate through the castings. Today I diagnosed faulty alternator bearings where indeed the charger was thought to be at fault. If you require a second opinion or further assistance please feel welcome to get in touch.
  10. Good to see you on the forum Myles. Your charger is ready to receive its new smoked chrome livery, before it's rebuilt and installed back into your Corrado.
  11. Hi Jam.e.s my build is much further on than the thread suggests but not as far as i would have liked, mostly due to the full on work profile we have with customers car projects at JMR, and partly due to personal injury. The engine and transmission are now planted into the chassis, as too is our prototype 4WD centre diff. I had hoped to have my Corrado back on the road this season but I think this is going to be unlikely, but not ruled out as yet. Will get some pics posted to update the build thread soon. Thanks for your interest.
  12. Late registered early valver in what looks to be in very honest condition, in a great colour. Just love standard well loved Corrado's. Nice one Katy looks like you have found a real survivor from the ravages of time. These are the Corrado's that will be worth the money as our cars become fewer in number, more valuable and collectable.
  13. Hey I love em all, and I'm happiest when I hear that another Corrado had been saved from the breakers grasp. Katy enjoy your Valver and don't mind any of our cross model banter. Truth is we are all very passionate in our pursuit of this great Coupe, and all the individual owner built variations, especially R32 powered ones [emoji7]
  14. Wellcome to the forum Katy, the "fun" starts now, all will become clear a few months into owning this great Coupe. Oh yes, and don't listen to any of those nasty VR6 types[emoji2]

    Non-ABS advice.

Instead of two in-line brake bias valves, I favoured the simplicity of a bias equipped pedal box assembly. I still retain a split system for safety on the event of fluid loss, but at the turn of one dial I can make fine adjustments to the brake bias.
  16. Will be happy to help, in your time Jim. We've just invested 12k on an eight camera alignment rig, and it's so worth the money.
  17. Look no further Jim, I will be delighted to equip your Corrado accordingly, and sort your alignment as well [emoji2]
  18. We are agents for all KW suspension products, and AP offer fantastic value for money. They are KW's entry level kit, but do not make the mistake of thinking them to be alongside the other "budget" offerings on the market, the AP kits punch far above that weight. We have fitted AP coilover kits to a number of Corrados and all the recipients have been delighted with their performance.

    Head gasket

Agree totally, the genuine metal gasket is the best item for the job. If you can't get one of these easily then an Elring equivalent will do every bit as well.
  20. Over the last ten years I have spent enough to easily qualify for free board at an asylum of my choosing, and have a base line figure that looks more like the national debt, but not quite enough to make me think I'm content to stop investing in playtime [emoji2] in 22 years of ownership I've never counted the cost, it's irrelevant, and at best a prerequisite to achieve the latest engineering enhancement.
  21. Ok thanks for detail where are you based? Deffo will have the cams but need to work out sensible resolve for acquiring the block.
  22. Totally understand Tom. We see Corrados from every corner of the UK, so should you decide to make the journey South you will be in good company. Should your local search not provide the service you require, you will be most welcome
  23. Hi Tom, at JMR Ltd we are VW Audi Specialist, but moreover we have a specific specialisation within this for the Corrado. The problem you describe is typical for a number of cars on their first presentation to our services. I'm sure we will be able to resolve your Corrado woes. You can find all our contact and other info on our website http://www.johnmitchellracing.co.uk. We look forward to hearing from you. Regards, John
  24. Detail please on 9a block and KR cams
  25. Light Waxoyl will the job well to prevent corrosion if you have fitted none KW units without stainless steel bodies. When or if you need to carry out future adjustment just dissolve away the Waxoyl with parafin and re-coat afterwards.
