  1. When you say you have checked over the geometry, have you had the car checked on a decent wheel alignment rig?
  2. Lupo GTI wipers are specified with the arms because they use the later style aero blades which are specific to the arms. Non GTI blades will not fit the arms. Hope this helps.
  3. Long distance diagnostics never a great idea especially with pressure as added ingredient. The whole concept of uprated looms on the Corrado lighting was to take the load off the switch and delivery battery voltage to the lights making them brighter and more efficient. This in mind, any uprated loom will have relays fitted for dip and main beam. These are typically located near to the battery as will the in line fuses to protect the circuit. I would suggest if you have had sudden loss of power then these will be the most likely cause of your problem.
  4. Yep, this was an earth strap fitted to prevent radio interference. They all break away as Jim describes and mislead no difference at all to any other system function when fitted.
  5. Well my initial "oops" at the start of this thread certainly grew into something really rather beautiful :-). So, as I said earlier I'm needing a nice shiny "Corrado" script in brushed chrome and you guys seem to be getting this moving along nicely. Can I add my name to the list of interested folks and await instruction as to how we progress towards the objective.
  6. Not sure about the November meet, will check it out. Would be great to see a whole string of Corrados at Goodwood. Sadly mine not ready yet, and not likely to be so until March 2015. So I'll be in my Audi.
  7. Hi Roger, you could also try Joe Clark at TrimDeluxe in Littlehampton West Sussex. Joe does all our trim work and he is a perfectionist. In the past he has re-trimmed many steering wheels for us in both leather and alcantara. His prices are both competitive and fair, and his work always pleases. You can contact Joe on 07771 630059.
  8. That's a shame Jim as this meet pulls in a huge selection of of themed and non themed cars all of them invariably to be respected in one way or another. Add to this the "Goodwood effect" and there will be guaranteed a selection of mouthwatering super cars past and present. Apart from all that it would be brill to catch up with yer :-). Think it over, why not a convoy of Corrados coming down South? Could be fun!
  9. Next Sunday at Goodwood motor racing circuit, the Breakfast Club theme is "Hot Hatch Sunday". An open invitation to every Corrado as a themed entrant, if ever there was one. This will be the last meet of this type for this year and promises to be a very entertaining morning. Entry is free of charge, as indeed is every aspect of attendance at these meets, apart from food and drink. It is best to arrive before 0830am as it gets extremely busy thereafter. You can go online to register your Corrado's attendance and therein park in the paddock area as a themed vehicle. The event kicks off at 0800am and is typically brought to a close by 1pm. Hope to see some of you next Sunday.
  10. Hey fella sorry to mess you around, the pic would not show on first viewing and I thought you were selling a Corrado rear script. So this will be an oops! I will have to keep searching.
  11. I'll have this thank you please PM detail to me. Thanks, John
  12. Interesting write up on this your "new" product Matt. What performance increase have you established with this induction kit? Have you run before and after power stats? My own Corrado in 16VG60 form ran 300bhp on a stock air filter and twin feed airbox. I am intrigued by what this intake brings to the G60 engine. So many simillar products have been offered and very few offer real performance gains, moreover, they are a styling excercise offering an induction downgrade. This could be read and misunderstood, but please don't, I am a genuinely intrigued, fellow G60 specialist of some 20+ years wanting to share your excitement over your latest product.
  13. Oil starvation, contamination or poor oil quality most likely cause Jim. The head is the first point in the engine to suffer when oil pressure is reduced. I would want to establish cause before replacing / fitting new parts. The same thing could re-occur if not first identified and rectified.
  14. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but with the damage you illustrate in your pics to the cam journals and caps is terminal. The cam can not be machined as this would in turn require oversize bearing shells to be fitted to compensate for the undersized journal diameter. Shell bearings are not available for the cams and have never been, as the cylinder head is line bored to the cam journal dimension. So indeed as the cams are scrap so too is the cylinder head.
  15. Welcome to the forum. There are a number of pointers for buying a good Corrado and then some again specific to the individual models. The guys on here will I'm sure be only too happy to offer guidance. I recently helped out Autocar with a buying guide specific to the Corrado, and it's worth a read, see "in the press" on our website http://www.johnmitchellracing.co.uk Will in addition be happy to help with any further info you need, our contact info can be found in the same detail. Happy hunting, I look forward to hearing from you.
  16. Real Ale for a longer drink, a glass of Merlot when Ale is a bit too much, and a good quality Port when the mood pleases, :)
  17. Jim, complete total and utter 24 carat, fur lined ocean going BLASPHEMY ! :)
  18. I think I can speak on behalf of us all and say you are most welcome.
  19. I think you know the answer to your problem :( but a set of pads specific to your Corrado :)
  20. They unfortunately will be unlikely to advise you in this matter as chassis designated parts allocation was a feature introduced for much later built cars circa 2000 on. Your best bet is to check behind the dash for the plugs left unconnected. The loom is very specific and it will be easy to establish which item is required as the plugs will be in direct vicinity of the item to be connected.
  21. Have you checked the slider pins inside the rubber bellows on the calliper carriers are free moving ? If not these will prevent good fitting. Another thing to check is that you have the correct thickness brake pads. Motor factors very often supply parts that are similar but incorrect.
  22. Before you purchase an ABS warning light, be advised there are two types used on the later 92 model year Corrados. There is a single plug and a double plug type warning light. Remove the blanking cover you have fitted and look behind it in the dash cavity to see whether you one or two flat harness plugs.
  23. Good to hear your on the bounce back from your initial woes. Good sense and forward thinking to carry out upgrades as required while the engine is out. Before you encounter more heartache, however, are you considering a charger rebuild / upgrade to tie in with your rebuilt engine? Unless this had already been done and you have conclusive proof for those works, I would strongly recommend the charger be included in your work profile.
