have you had the alighment, and particularly the camber checked?? When i read the post the first time...I could have sworn that you said Here was me thinking WTF!!??
  2. A while back when blown was deciding on his manifold, i typed this from i book I have.......http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7305&start=7
  3. no matter how much of a improvement the flowing of the cast item makes.....it wil never be as good as a tubular item. The reason for this is that although stictly speaking the exahust is a 4-2-1, the inital 4 primaries are very short, only a few inches. on the TSR and Magnex 4-1 the primaries are a couple of feet long, and on the supersprint 4-2-1 the primaries are around 1 foot, with the 2 to 1 part another 10 inches or so.

    sirocco mk1

(I am assuming it uses mk1 git hub.....) U need a braket to attach the g60 caliper carriers to the hubs. Using the 256mm carrier of an audi80 is a much easier conversion.
  5. the bunch of fat bananas make some differnece, but a 4 branch manifold is the next huge difference.
  6. are supersprint systems not mildsteel box's with stainless pipework ? very good systems imho Actaully....now you mention it I forgot that!... s/s 4 branch manifold, into mild steel cat replacement, into s/s straight pip, mild steel center box, and stainless back box.
  7. i had crap experience with magnex on my mk2 golf, so i got supersprint for the raddo, they dont do complete stainless systems, but they are supposed to last very well....... but for mild steel it is very pricey....
  8. I had to get rid of mine when I put the shrick on, I couldnt get it off in less than around 10 million pieces! Dont take it off until you have a replacement!
  9. hutchyvw, you might concider Knockhill sinse its not that far away for you. They dont have the super cars, but you can get a good bit of track time in the Legends or the single seater race cars. http://www.knockhill.com/acatalog/
  10. Hi badlad1888, that would have been me and Biggrim. You got a mk1 and a raddo then? The mk1 was well nice, i really love them on the steels. Is it restored or origonal? What did you think of the show? Coulda done with a better VW selection!
  11. if its within 350 miles i might consider coming a look.... but i am thinking the scottish sprint championships might be good fun for next year.......
  12. coraddos (and golfs) are NOT tail happy unless something is wrong, shite tyres, pressures, or geometry.
  13. I never was that quick at getting showered, and especially slow at getting dry. I hate putting clothes on when i am still wet.

    Damp...

right....afew things to check..... as i just had this. rear 1/4 glass seal - remove card and seat pad, feel for dampness in foam behind the card. front door membrain - remove card, look for water marks in card, and any holes/splits in the membrain. most probable cause (imho) windscreen blower inlet on bulk head - this was what was leaking on mine. This also unfortunately means that almost all the sound proofing in the passenger side will be wet at best, or like mine, starting to rot. to check this, remove the sill plate bit that holds down the edge of the carpet, and as far front as poss, put your finger in to feel under the carpet (there is a tar like layer on top of the sound protection, so the water cant soak up to the carpet at the front). If this is al wet, then you need to practically strip that side of the car, bar the dash to get the sound protection out to dry. Have a nose clip handy as mine was starting to rot, and the smell nearly knocked me out when i first peeled the sound protection back! to fix the actual prob, i just gave both metal sealing face a clean on the bulk head, and used a load of instant gasket! Its sorted now, but i still havent put the passenger carpet back down..... which reminds me.... i better chase darren for sound padding b4 u do! The final options are not very likely... these are, split rear window washer supply, or missing gater for the handbreak cable.
  15. i run 215/40/16 and i like to have 31 in the front and 28 in the rear.
  16. Hi We used to drool over these on a weekly basis, and my mate was inches away from doing it. You can get 210bhp+ out of the 2l so i would guess maybe 20 bhp less in the 1.8 (why not put a 2l bottom end on, it would be a cheaper and better mod if ur current bottom end is origional) IMHO it sounds awsome, the induction noise becomes less deep and more raspy tho. Re low end torque..... this is a top end power mod.... even with really good mapping the low end torque is pretty bad because of the slow air flow. If you were feeling flush you could set up two maps on your management, one using long thin trumpets so you get faster air flow at lower revs, thus increasing low end torque....but i suspect that would still struggle to match your current torque, and the other map for speed. 8) You have to run stand alone management, and on top of the DTH TB kit plus the mapping you are on silly bucks. Also doing this without already having a 4-branch is pretty foolish....... but you can run silly cams if you want to. I was speaking to the guy who bought badger bills jetta, its got that kit on the 9a iirc, he was saying motor way driving, at 60-80 returned a rather upsetting 20mpg. Not really a mod for your daily drive!
  17. There are two places that affect the camber; the bottom ball joint can slide in and out, but this hardly affects the camber. THe main place camber is adjusted is the two bolts at the bottom on the strut, top of the hub carrier.

    16v cams

I do not have any experience with the 9a lump, but initially when the abf was put into the golf, we dropped it in untouched, then once i stripped the kr i changed the cams, to find a large difference in power delivery. The fact that there was a 4 branch on there may have helped too.

    16v cams

i have a set of 16v cams that were in my abf lump..... it made a world of difference....got rid of the flatness in the top end of the abf, and gave me back my much loved kick at 4500 rpm....... i dont need these cams anymore........ is there anything you want to ask me?
  20. Slightly of topic.... are you the guy who bought the intercooler for £15, and was speaking to me and Beavis at the front of my car?
  21. leda are in the london area, but I dont know my geography down that way...... and I dont know if they have an issue working on non-leda suspension kits.
  22. Hi I was having a think the other day, for no real reason, and this question popped into my head. I know that the front wings have slightly wider arches, appx 5mm on either side to compliment the wider track on the front. Were the rear arches/rear suspension and track width revised? Cheers Edit - changed title to see if i get a better response.
