  1. if they are the wrong hangers then as you said last night, it is only the center box section/pipe that needs to be replaced as the hooks or bars are on that section. Also, changine an exhaust from hook to bar means welding a straight bit of bar on perpendicular to the pipe, so would be pretty easy done.
  2. In general I agree with H8RRA - the nicest cars/cars I have the most time for are the ones with carefully thought out mods, done buy the owner (between fixing bits that are broken), with his/her own twists. I cant honestly say I am that keen on any car that has too many mods purely for styling. On the other hand, I don't think I have ever seen phatvr6 have anything good to say about any car but his own, all of his 'this car isn’t....' threads/posts are a bit clichéd.
  3. there are metal rings set in each of the bolt holes for the plastic...if these start to rust they will expand slightly, and as dazzy says, with the plastic being brittle it will crack easily.
  4. thats correct as far as I know.
  5. its just here at the fork in the yellow and red road, with the cars pointing south.
  6. wont vsam or kstar let you map the car better, but not give u the rough running of a low end stand alone system?
  7. cool pics.... I hadnt considered that there was more to the race weekend than the race! This pic is a bit dodgy, with around a 3.384% beavo quotiant.
  8. the temp sensor reading is taken across pins 2 and 3. The reading between 1 and 2 is the sum of the 2 resistances. I was just testing my temp sensor. I put it in the fridge and got a reading of 4.25k Ohms, then blew a hair dryer at it, and watched the resistance fall to 1.5k ohms. It would be good if you could confirm your figures for these conditions, then we can be sure they are both working in the same range.
  9. for any of you undercultured people, the new audi a8 quattro advert starts with the ur and the sport rally cars from 20 years ago....... watch out for it!
  10. n2o is better than o2 for this application as the nitrogen, being a relitively innert gas, has a very weak chemical bond with the oxygen. The double bond in 02 is much stronger, so the oxygen atoms in a load of n20 is available much more easily for burning. Think the difference between nos and nox is the shape and structure of the molecules.... that could be rubbish tho!
  11. cant think when my fan comes on..... but 110 doesnt sound bad
  12. how do u know it wasnt 5 - 8 'c out b4 u fixed it? surely as long as u know where it normally sits, u can tell if theres a problem if it isnt there one day.
  13. Thanks guys. Its really not the ideal place for them to be (except for that top one where the switch blanck went) but 3 gauges there are a damn site more useful to me than an ashtray and ciggy lighter! Even if u put them in the sereo position its a bit far down imho. Tokk me a 2 or 3 evenings iirc.... did it last year so cant really remember.
  14. you will need a two pole sender for the oil pressure, cant remember if you do for the oil temp or not. i had exactly the same gauge panel to start with, and filed it down to fit the center console, then hacked all the gubbins out from the center consol that had anything to do with the ashtray and lighter.... finished pic in my gallery thread.
  15. u would need to create, and sustain knock, at a frequency that made sense to the ecu before u would see an effect
  16. you will find it uder the abs unit if you follow the chassis leg bacak from the battery
  17. That was the A821 going north out of Aberfoyle. I cant stop thinking about it! Anyone wants to drive it .... just name the time... I will be there with bells on :)
  18. You guys all missed out! It was a great drive! Went up to Rowerdennan lodge on the north east of Loch Lomond, and then across to Aberfoyle and on to Stirling. It was most excellent... the road noise dissapeared completely on the brow of at least two hill, and I lost traction on the brow of countless hills! Its the first time in 6 months the car has actually made me smile! Brakes got sharper with some decent usage, with the tyres warmed the car turned in and gripped great! Here are the 3 best pics.... of the 8 that I took. Next time i think it would be well worth some video camera action! The first from the Peir at Rowerdennan on the east side of Loch Lomond: A nice picture of Rowardennan Lodge: And my favourite... Mine and Joe's cars with Loch Lomand, and Beinn Bhreac in the background:
