Hi all, doing the Mk4 shifter conversion on my '92 G60 using the Polo housing. Now the Mk4 gear stick isn't threaded, so I want to sort that, but I've also read that the stick is too high. I can't compare it because I've already sold the standard Corrado one Anyone done it who can tell me how much you need to chop off? Cheers

Big improvement over the stock single piston caliper. I ran them with Vauxhall discs and stock Pagid S2 pads with a 23mm master cylinder. Never tried RZs over them, RAs need spacing a bit but G60 steels do fit straight on.

Bentley manual says replace, but I've reused many in the past with no issues with fresh thread lock

Exhaust place will probably be able to sort you out with one, or be able to make up a suitable adaptor.
-
They aren't stretch bolts so just reuse and torque up :)

Should be ready to go mate, certainly the outer CV will have grease in it. Did it come with a tube of grease?

Problem with new bolts not bought from VW is that they don't have flanged heads like the originals, so you have to use washers etc and looks crap. Individually cheap from VW, but soon adds up to a lot. What about getting your original ones replated? I notice you haven't done any work to the towing eye in the pics above to fit the Rallye 'cooler .. have you offered it up? What's fitment like? Probably best to do the chopping and welding before paint

Ah, perfect, thank you very much! :)

Hi all, putting my G60 back together and trying to route my knock sensor wiring, without success. The plug sits in a little bracket iirc, but not sure where this is mounted. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

Bought some TT wipers to fit, but a slight mod needed to the passenger side as it's a bit too long Wants to fit about here... ...so needs to be shortened to here - 60mm too long Lopped off required amount and prepped for weldng Result :) just needs a little fettling still ... and a clean!

G60 silly question. 315cc injectors with standard chip?
Simeon replied to bristolbaron's topic in Engine Bay
If you get an SNS chip they will remap it free of charge if you post it to them as and when you do more mods. However, larger injectors with no other mods isn't really a good idea. -
Put some new big ends in today along with a new oil pump and windage tray. Fitted my Shrick sump too. Also took one of my hubs down to the local engineering shop and pressed in a new bearing :) grabbed a couple of pics towards the end as we all like pics.. Lined up Going in And done :)

1995 N reg Corrado 2.0 8v - Moonlight Blue
Simeon replied to elnigel's topic in Cars for Sale [Corrado]
Yeah if it's running fine from cold then blue temp sensor is a likely culprit. I'm actually interested in the car and have VCDS so if you get stuck I might pop down for a look and could scan it :) -
Take nuts off top of struts and whole beam will pivot to floor - best to stick a jack under it so you can lower it slowly

Good Lord that's dreadful

Your engine sounds fairly standard? All these additional 'upgrades' really aren't necessary, VW spent time and money making sure the cars ran correctly. Over cooling an engine can be as harmful as it getting too hot. Replacing things like you have done is a good idea if you have no history. The standard oil/water exchanger is fine for a standard engine and only £30 to replace. Next on the list is the radiator - these are the one of the biggest culprits for cooling issues as they tend to only be replaced if they leak, but they can be sealed and still buggered, particularly if incorrect coolant has been used (likely) and not changed regularly (also likely). Remember that what you are being shown on the gauges may not be 100% accurate too.. Are you actually getting any over heating issues other than the temp gauge readings, which you are considering to be high?

Good stuff, glad you've got it sorted :)

Yeah, there is a metal clip that you adjust to take the slack out of the cable. Usually what happens is people over tighten the cable thereby preventing the throttle from closing properly, however clearly not the case in your instance. From what you describe I would suspect a fault with the throttle body, perhaps removing it and giving it a good clean and look over would be best place to start.

The stubby master cylinders are 23mm I think, so bigger than stock and should be plenty for the Brembos I should think.

Nice article and lovely car :) -
Get yourself on eBay etc and have a search is best bet, buy a decent brand and it'll be fine.

Interested in the 50mm splitter if you are prepared to post? Cheers
