  1. Ditto, mines on KW V1's and 17's, dropped as far as they'll allow really. Get the odd scrape but can clear all road humps without a problem!
  2. Throttle-blipping on a diesel?! Careful you don't blip it too much, it'll bounce off the 4000 RPM redline!
  3. Nice ans stealthy. What's up with the spoiler? Had some issues myself but all good now.
  4. I'm not sure what I meant so thanks for the advice!
  5. Right, I stopped being lazy and messaged the guy I bought them off. Late Mk 3 VR6 Golf apparently. So I'll be on the hunt for EBC Redstuff pads and drilled & grooved discs. Let the search begin!
  6. Euro-sh*te. Please don't do it. Put this exercise down to experience.
  7. Stumbled across this thread but it has made me think. I've got the VR6 going into Stealth later in the month to have a Vortech V9 fitted (plus Schrick, cams and a re-map). I currently have a BMC-CDA fitted but from what I've read, this may not be the best as it may let dust into the 'charger which I gather isn't ideal! Any opinions and recommendations on a replacement (if required at all?)
  8. The strutbrace got delivered this week and fitted it in less than 30 minutes. Sorted. May just be me but I'm sure the old girl rattles less now!! Piccies....
  9. I've been having the same dilemma! I'm going to try too hard and go red!
  10. Fitted my shiny new rear strutbrace from the groupbuy, and lovely it is too!
  11. Still struggling with this guys... I'm not sure what calipers I have. Are Mk3 and Mk4 Golf calipers basically the same in that you can put the same pads & discs on both?
  12. Mines booked in with them in 3 weeks for a week long stint. They're 120 miles from me but from what I've heard, they're the right people for the job. I'll let you know at the end of April when I get my serviced, 'charged, cammed, Schricked, LSD'd VR6 back!!!
  13. Me and a mate were talking about that. That'll be the new game for 12 year olds - peel the RS500!!!
  14. Pistonheads reckon this is gonna cost in the region of £35k! That's a lot of dosh for what is essentially a mildly uprated standard RS.
  15. I quite like it! http://www.worldcarfans.com/110021124523/modern-day-vw-corrado-conceptualized I love the starting line....brilliant but unsuccessful!!
  16. Never even heard of one!!
  17. I'm in a different career, have very little technical ability when it comes to car maintenance and have a good garage. They will always be able to do a better job than me, will call if they find another bit that needs changing and I tell them to get it done. I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who are very competent, but very few have ramps, all the kit and (probably most importantly) the spare time to do all the work themselves. Last bit of rant....something is always going to go wrong on a car. They are made of disposable parts and after 20 years, things need disposing of. Take a look at some of the finest cars on here and ask the owners if they have ever had niggles or parts that go bang...100% of them will say 'yey'.
  18. I vote for Jay Renshaw! Home-grown and capable of this : Epic!
  19. I'm no mechanic but mine did exactly the same thing and the coilpack was knackered. Local garage said it was in a right mess and they didn't know how it was running at all!
  20. Well, after seeing these, I think I've decided to fit the lot (V9, cams & Shrick). 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfN426%20YNN-Torque%20080517.jpg[/attachment:1lwnj8ej]N426%20YNN%20Power%20080517.jpg[/attachment:1lwnj8ej] It may be a bit of overkill, but I'm hoping I can drop the psi of the 'charger, make things a little less strained and keep things running smoothly. Got a rear strut brace on order and managed to negotiate to buy a front brace off Greg Kirby too, plus a LSD from the group buy. Happy days! Shall keep things updated.
  21. That last pic, for me, emphasises what a well-proportioned car the C is. Looks gorgeous. Good skills!
  22. Not fussed on red usually but when it's that clean it does look fine!
