  1. What is it with Stealer Service Depts. these days. Talk about insulting the intelligence or preying on the lack of knowledge of your customers. Dont' know how they sleep at night. Arse!
  2. Don't take my word for it, as have no experience of ABS on the C, but sounds like it will probably be the usual Stealer crap to me!
  3. Haven't taken a look at this site for a while, just taken a look now, and there appear to be hundreds more comments from disgruntled newer VW owners than any other manufacturer! I'm sticking with the 'old school'. Reckon site could use some more Corrado reviews though.....not too happy with whoever rated the C as three lemons for rather crap reasons . Scraping your car on a post and the brake pads wearing out doesn't make it a bad car. http://www.peachorlemon.co.uk
  4. bcstudent, Also makes a good point, I too have an oil pressure gauge, pretty easy to fit. A search for 'VDO gauges oil pressure' should clarify it. Once the oil is fully warmed up mine normally hovers at about 1 Bar (at idle).
  5. I would change the sender(s) initially, not expensive, and check the visible wiring / connector is still in good condition while your there.
  6. Sorry, don't like it, but that's from a U.K. perspective so don't be too hurt! I think we generally regard the Corrado as near perfect as she was made over here.
  7. Saw one round here recently, look like they are carved from a solid block of stone, but not in a good way! All that money to look that bad, no thanks!
  8. Should have taken it on the rolling road at Inters, they reckoned I was kicking out 185BHP in a standard 16v! Wish I'd been more awake to complain that it was obviously just a tad on the optimistic side! At least the curves were beautiful, which was nice, as there weren't many other decent curves to look at at Inters, what with the crap weather!
  9. Odd, I like the spoiler generally, and have one on mine. Don't see the Chavness myself! However, doesn't seem quite so good on a black C for some reason in my opinion, so I reckon in this case off, but for any other colour, on!

    Oil Usage!

Reckon mine are going the same way now (140+ K), but not sure if I can trust any garages round here to do it properly
  11. I wouldn't want to be waiting around any corners in Croydon! ...sorry mate, not much help, couldn't resist it!
  12. Dead right, a VW badge is hardly something to be ashamed of is it! Keep it I reckon. Later grille is much nicer too, especially with a Kamei type grille spoiler. ....good excuse to post a piccy....!
  13. corradostorm, Excellent, I'll get my application to rejoin in the post this week!
  14. Must admit I really enjoyed getting The Sprinter, but haven't really bothered renewing my lapsed mebership since hearing of the lack of regular issues ( I appreciate it's a tough job though, as do the same thing for local fencing club....people always ask when the next Newsletter is out, but never contribute much). The merest hint of a National Day however and I'd rejoin like a shot, Woburn was brilliant!
  15. Bloody hell, I presume that's you sitting by what's left of it, looking veeery dejected. Glad no one was hurt though which is the main thing. That must have made one hell of a noise.

    wing mirrors

bcstudent, They should come on when you switch on the rear screen demister.
  17. Yep, the way it's going youl'l have to give a blood and urine sample and sing the National anthem in the middle of the Post Office to get ripped off, ...I mean car taxed.
  18. Crazymarcel, I normally struggle to get discount from Robinsons unless I deal with the couple of parts guys there who know me fairly well, but NVWC generally give me 10% discount every time. Makes me laugh because all they do is order the bits in for me from ....Robinsons!
  19. Joining the long queues in the Post Office tomorrow then I take it! I always plan to get a disc in advance, but never do and always end up with the umpteen other people queing who wait til the last minute! As mentioned above though, no grace period, friend of mine got spotted and fined and he was only a few days over!
  20. yellowslc, That's nice to know, many thanks!
  21. yellowslc, I kind of think so, there is a spring loaded valve built in, but not sure if / how that would be thermostatic, might be, might not be, but I hope so. I think it will be as Perma Cool does seem to be a good brand from what I can find out.

    wing mirrors

I got a nice tinted blue anti-dazzle set of stick-on glass from Halfords, with built in wide-angle as well. Think it was intended for a BMW 3 series (double check though). It just fitted inside the aperture, not quite the right shape, and can restricts the full mirror adjustment, but I reckonit's plenty good enough, and cheaper than VW. Can post pics if you like later.
  23. Not yet, just waiting for the seals to arrive and then a bit of time spare, and will give it a bash. I would say it would 100% definately cool the oil better though, must be better than running hot water through the oil cooler to do the job! I'll advise as soon as I do it and see the results. Am sure it wil give same result as the Mocal coolers others on this Forum have fitted already.....perhaps they can comment too......I'm estimating at least a 10 celcius drop across the range.
  24. Probably any VW stealer would! Think GSF do rubber bands cheaper BTW!
  25. Your'e joking right, please, tell me you, or at least they, ARE joking!
