  1. Looks like an obd1 dizzy engine to me?
  2. There’s a polished or chromed Schrick mani on eBay.de.... https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F123795165671
  3. I’ve never had a working radio in my vr6, the vr wail is much better to listen to and the battery stays charged for months too. Mac audio used to make direct replacements
  4. Yes, exactly that for me too
  5. Something happened 2 days ago when I viewed the forum - always logged in, but now back to normal
  6. Edited to show the difference. After 10 years I've actually posted a pic via the forum lol
  7. Yes, 2.9 Left is 2.8, right 2.9
  8. Is it a 2.9 mani? Flip it over and post a pic if you're not aware of the difference.
  9. Maybe Jons sender under read so the fans didn’t run presuming a lower temp than actual temp? Open circuit and the relay assumes over temp?
  10. I'd start with the basics, full strip and clean of all 4 corners before a smear of copperslip and reassembly - pads jammed in the carriers will give a long pedal. Check the rear handbrake levers return fully to there stops and the handbrake is adjusted properly - seized handbrake levers or cables adjusted too tight that don't allow the levers to full return to the stops don't allow the self adjusting mechanisms to do there thing giving a long pedal.
  11. Is there pressure in the hoses when hot? There should be some to prevent the coolant boiling. Water pumps are known for the impellers rotting off and not circulating the coolant. Does it overheat when idling, driving, after you turn the engine off or all the above?

At fast idle, CO must be at or less than 0.2%, HC at or less than 200 parts per million (ppm), and the lambda value(1) must be between 0.97 and 1.03. At normal idle, CO must be at or less than 0.3%
  13. Its long been a bone of contention, ultimately they're the OPs parts so he can sell to whoever he likes, first to post in the thread, a PM a day later or his best friend a week later. The rules are unpolicable
  14. https://www.demon-tweeks.com/uk/sealey-remote-action-hose-clip-tool-vs1663-seavs1663/ Having previously ripped a hole in the middle of my palm right at the start of removing a cylinder head rrleasing the clip off the MAF using mole grips I now use one of these
  15. I can't remember whether my car is fitted with a GSF or ECP pump, the car runs fine, either £70 or £64 with the current discount codes. The pump is 4+ years old and the car still fires up, its currently SORN
  16. Its sounds like its OK, giving you the option of locked with the doors open (key only) or unlocked with the doors with the contents of the boot vulnerable to thieves - not such a problem in this country
  17. So the key was turned to the deadlock position? You don't always want to drive around with the contents of the boot accessible to opportunists at traffic lights etc
  18. Does the pneumatic actuator for the tailgate do its thing when you unlock the doors? open the tailgate, push the lock to its locked position using a screwdriver on the latch. Bentley 57.12 for those with similar issues (a pretty crap diagram in reality).
  19. There's one in the Bentley, 55.10 and 55.11 - there's no barrel roller in the Corrado. OP - There's also a guide to replacing the levers in the lock so one key fits all 57.18 onwards
  20. If you can source a boot lock diagram off the net look to see if there's a barrel shaped roller within the key barrel, then check to see if yours is missing, I've had similar on other VWs
  21. Take the door panel off and use the key in the door whilst observing the linkages
  22. I think they just send you the correct shaft and you dispose of the incorrect one.
  23. The drivers door will open with a flat battery, so more likely mechanical than pneumatic.
  24. That’s a slippery slope, once viewed as a pile of parts worth more than the sum of the total that’s when the itch to break the car begins.
