Well I don't think the GF would be to impressed if I "went all the way" with the Corrado, but I know what you mean. I think I am going to have to sit and think about my options and decide one way or the other. Whichever way I go I will try and create something worthwhile! I love the idea of a Corrado on modern running gear linked into the modern interior, but I wonder if I am just putting off doing the Porsche! :) Jay

I have always wanted to buy a bare early 911 Turbo Body shell and build the car I want up from scratch. Full multipoint weld in cage, 964 bumpers etc.. big RSR rear wing, whole lot painted duck egg blue, 996 interior, dash etc..and a proper 993 engine. 18" Splits and all round coilovers. :) Jay

Furki, If someone is seriously interested let me know but I am not letting it go for less than £8K. I agree with everyone elses comments, really I should keep the car, as I know it, know everything has been replaced, upgraded etc.. and better the devil you know as they say. :) However as OSV said, the next phase would be a major one and cost a lot more than I would ever get back, if I ever sold the car... I guess I need to decide if I am going to keep it, or build my ultimate 911  Jay
-
Should I sell it though, or should I keep going with it. I know the obvious answer, but genuinely could I sell it for £8000 as it is now? or should I invest the money in the 4motion stuff and keep going... I am totally up in the air at the mo.. I kind of had no enthusiasm at Edition38, but I think that was just because I had done enough polishing for one year! Jay

Rather than hijack the "200BHP" thread I thought I would start a different one. Fast x said in the thread "yes mate i saw ur car but how much u want for 6 7 8 grand???? let me know thanks philip." I put a for sale sign in my car at Edition 38 as a bit of a joke with "offers" on it, but to be honest I would not know what, if I did get offered, I would want for it. I am not particularly looking to sell it but I guess I would seriously consider offers over £8K, but should it be more? or less? Obviously you lot know the car and are probably the best people to ask, being so honest! :) So if someone wants it, what should I let it go for...? At the end of the day the next phase (V6 4motion running gear) would be a major step and cost me a lot of money and time, so maybe I would be better off selling it as is... Anyone fancy owning it? :) Cheers Jay

fast x, To be honest I put the sign in the window at Edition 38 as a bit of a joke, as I am not really intending to sell my car yet as I want to install V6 4 motion engine and running gear etc.. However obviously if someone was to come to me offering £8K for the car as it stands I would have to seriously consider it. :) Cheers Jay

Don't worry I have decided they are staying. :) Glad to know people have mine and Asims cars as their desktop! :) Jay -
After some interesting discussions with a few people at Edition 38 about second cars I was just wondering how many people actually use their C every day to go to work and back etc..or do you have the luxury of a second/company car. I don't have the luxury of either so I have to drive mine a 40 mile round trip every day to work and it has regular trips to Harrogate (from Bournemouth) to the GF's parents as well as all the VW shows etc.. OK the porker rims will stay. :) I guess I will have to find a way to keep them clean when driving to work during the winter! Jay -

Managed by pure fluke to get this arty shot of my front wing and Asims beautiful C as a background. Not a bad shot for a quick snap. -
Usually a sign of an exhaust leak, the additional air in the hot exhaust causes it to combust and hence the flames out the back. Jay

Porsche 17" Dog Leg Split Rims Replacement outer rims to make them all 8.5" wide front and back. 205/40/17s on all four. Lowered on Koni Coilovers, not sure exactly how much. Jay

It should have stopped engaging the clutch if the gas was low. The diavia system has a pressure sensor on top of the drier which disengages the clutch if the pressure is too high, or too low. If it didn't work when the pressure was low it probably won't work when its high, which is dangerous, so i would get the pressure switch checked if I were you. Jay

I have just a 71mm Pulley and a BBR Chip and had 199.6 BHP on the rollers at stealth, (on a hot day) so there's your answer. Not a lot will get your G60 to 200BHP. However make sure everything is perfect first as I see a lot of cars with bucket loads of mods that produce carp power because they are not good to start with. Jay

Short answer. Standard. I have had four years of pi55ing about with G60 exhausts and honestly you can't beat a standard system. Fair enough they don't look great out the back (thats why mine is completely hidden, behind a flushed bumper) but in every other way a standard system is best. Every exhaust I have tried has never fitted perfectly and will probably knock on the rear beam if your car is more than slightly lowered. The G60 produces so much heat into the exhaust system, but still needs silencers unlike a turbo, which concentrates the heat even more. This means it shifts and contorts as stainless does that under heat. Admitedly stainless would be nice for long life, but an original steel system will last more than long enough for most people. I have de-catted mine with a Supersprint de-cat pipe, but the car produces 200BHP and 193lb/ft with just a chip and pulley and feels much more torquey with the standard exhaust that with a big open system I had before. Obviously people will beg to differ, but I bet if most people with stainless systems and big exhausts on G60's are honest, the nicest noise is still the charger not the exhaust and driving day in, day out is much nicer with a quiet exhaust, especially on long journeys. 2p Ker plink. My freshly flared out arches (56k beware, 10 pics)
24V Renshaw replied to PhatVR6's topic in Members Gallery
Mine are all front wheels, 8.5"x17", admitedly wide, but all the same width, as at the end of the day its still FWD! All still under standard arches too. Jay -
Doh! Oh well, I always have been a bit slow! :)

This is absolutely unreal. Firstly seeing how quick a 600BHP RS4 is and secondly how many near misses there are. This is a big file (19MB) but its worth the wait!! http://members.home.nl/nica23/P1010001.MOV Jay

Lee. I think you have got me all wrong mate. I have no problem with you or your car mate. Infact I am in total admiration of it. I was just saying that the back end is completely not to my taste. Sorry for letting you know what I think, but if you put pictures up on the Forum and gives us all months of suspense surely you have to expect some comments. Jay
