  1. Interesting read Paul. The fun of building a car where the bits don't belong together! :) Its the little bits and pieces after the major work that I enjoy, sorting out each little problem in turn and improving the drive each time! Keep on it mate, VW take years to develop a car, so you are doing well so far! :) Jay
  2. Finally finished the 24v V6 install properly. It is now all fully in complete with air-con the lot. Cruise control now works (so much nicer on long drives) and I now get the bonnet painted and finished knowing the engine is clear of it. Will post some piccies later on my thread of the finished install. :) Jay
  3. Yes. Get the yellow powerflex ones. Jay
  4. Surely if its cracked on the top it would suggest that the load was downwards, not upwards (the way the engine pulls)? Certainly something to keep an eye on though. Jay
  5. Excellent another one for the 24v Group thrash. Good luck mate, its a whole world of fun! :) Are you planning on splicing looms or fitting the whole lot from the R32? Jay
  6. You know the only answer to that Jim. It begins with "G" and ends in "ixty" :) Jay
  7. Nice one Dad! :) tee hee hee Hopefully I will to get down into the mid teens when its being driven properly! Jay
  8. I got 36MPG on a drive from Bournemouth to Milton Keynes and it didn't sound like a school bus! :) Jay
  9. You need a size 60 Torx key See my gearbox strip down thread that i never finished. http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... 8&lighter=
  10. Cheers for the offer Paul, but I think I will see how it goes with the TBD first. :) So far I have been blown away by how much grip it generates using the TBD. Just need to get the chassis balance right and then see what it can do.... Jay
  11. How does the stuff you picked up look Ben? piccies?
  12. I already have the front crossmember bushes and the gearbox mount. Will see how it goes before I do anything with the rear mount.
  13. Well following a test drive of the 24v install with old VR mounts I decided the standard VR6 mounts are just wayyyyy to soft and having looked at the prices of "uprated" mounts I decided to look at making a solid one. Just so happened that Andy Brookes (of this forum) mentioned that he had a solid plastic one made. So I had a chat with the machine shop today at work and had my own billet Aluminium mount made up. These bits of ali replace the soft squigy rubber bits and will (if the G60 version is anything to go by) transform the transfer of power. I also have some 1/4" rubber sheet to pack it out allowing for a tiny bit of vibration damping as well as taking up any slack. These are the constituant parts..... Will let you all know how well it works and may be in a position to produce and sell them as kits for a lot less than the £140 mounts you can buy. Jay
  14. The 24v turbo conversion is around £3000 for everything you need, I better start saving! :) Jay
  15. I think I know what it is, but i won't say anything on here. Jay
  16. Top effort Ben. Loving the lights in the door card. Might get your trimmer to do my door cards as if he can do those ones mine will be so simple in comparison!! :) Jay
  17. LOL. Ben all those filler fumes are sending you mad! :) Jay
  18. Do it Paul! I have been looking long and hard at the EIP tuning 24v Turbo kit. 470BHP sounds like fun to me and its a bolt on to the MK4, so will go straight on mine. :)
  19. ah but you know as I well as I do Ben it "will" happen, you, me and Paul are as bad as each other :) Jay
  20. People are missing the point. This is not a "what mods I have done" as most of us could write a book on that. This is a "unique" mods thing, to give people ideas of things that perhaps have never been seen before. The fact I listed the MX5 wing mirrors rather than the 24v V6, Porsche seats, TT dash etc.. is because I am pretty sure all those have been done somewhere. Not in this country but in europe. Jay
