It should be 2 quarts, which is just over 2 litres iirc. 2 bottles of MT90 is the exact right amount. Did you leave it to drain out for long enough? Even when it's down to a trickle, it can still keep going for ages.

Only bumper variation was early (up to '92) and late ('92 on).

My wife spotted a black? C today in Stratton, Cirencester around 4pm today.

Unfortunately yes - Advisory on it's MOT of quite a bad oil leak, so Richard spent about 6 hours Saturday working on it. List comprises of: New Oil Cooler Main Crankshaft Oil Seal (£80+) All G/Box Oil Seals Diff Oil Seals Sump Gasket Oil Pressure Switch Complete Clutch Kit plus other things that I can't recall!! Clutch now is feather light and so far no more leaks - Cost just over £500!! :( Hope yours is cheaper, which I'm sure it will be!! Ian. Ouch! :shock: Should be good for a while now though 8) That price actually isn't too bad, considering the labour involved...

Is that to do with the smoke/mpg? Fingers crossed it's nothing major...

Thanks Louis ;) Yep, sooooo annoying. The car is so much better with the new belts- the alternator was really loud and whiny before and had started to make a horrid grinding sound- totally gone now 8) Now need to sort the gearchange (adjustment + new cables), laquer the lights, new rear engine mount, touch up underseal, new petrol tank straps + numerous other minor jobs.

Nice and loooooow! 8) Gotta say, not too keen on the tinted fogs, but love the rest. Very nice :notworthy:

You might as well go for aircon and black cloth Recaros while you're at it... and don't forget the headlamp washers. If you're really lucky, you may find a Karmann interior. Seriously, you should get the spec you're after fairly easily :)

If the new control module doesn't work, check that the white/blue wire is plugged into the fuse box. My last VR had the same prob and I sorted it by plugging it back into the back of the fuse box ;)

A little update... Have added a debadged grille (FK), chrome 16v badges (front & rear) and chrome Corrado script badge. Just updates the car a little :) Changed the alternator & PAS belts today cos the alt belt was a little slack and was noisy. All seems OK now :) One unwanted mod- left the ratchet on one of the alternator pivot bolts... and shut the bonnet :shock: The bonnet now has a small crease- I'm sure it can be fixed, but will have to wait a while :( Coupla pics 8)

Changed both belts this morning- quite straight forward really :) No sign of the rattle anymore, and the alternator belt is tighter. Hopefully that's it! :D
