Hey bud, just wondering if you happen to know the torque figures for the bolts holding the front cross member and rad support to the chassis? I can't seem to find them in the Bentley manual. Cheers.

Ah I see. I don't get my bonus until January (if at all) hence why I can't take them off you now!

If the CH's are still around and available after Crimbo, I'll be in touch!

As title, a friend of mine recently sold a red G60, just wondering if anyone here bought it? Not sure of the reg, or exact sale date but in the last 6 months. It was seriously low and running banded steels last time I saw it.

And what did his wife say??

I think red and white cars benefit from the side strips personally. Other colours don't need them but look fine with or without.

PROBABLY BEEN ASKED BEFORE BUT WILL 18" wheels fit a vr6

PS - I'm not suggesting this is a good idea for any sort of function other than standing still. I just think it looks alreet. -

You know what, I used think they looked crap, but then I realised, people were just doing it wrong. I'll leave these here. -
I've just wired components up to an amp (no sub) and I ran the power cable up the passenger side of the transmission tunnel, the aux leads up the drivers side, then that left the outsides for each of the front speakers. My speakers and tweeters are mounted in the standard locations, I ran a cable through the normal grommets for the door speakers and the tweeter cables drop straight down. All three cables (amp, tweeter, speaker) then all join at the cross over. I'll see if I can find any pictures. Ok, no pictures of the actual routing, sorry, hope these help: Amp before: Tweeter before: After: Door: Cross overs (last bit to tidy up): Amp after:

I dunno, I have a stainless system (Milltek) and fits perfectly and sounds fine. Yes it's a bit louder at full chat but I could likely have shopped around for something quieter. Yes the standard system (assuming it was original) lasted 18 years but if I have to buy three stainless systems in the next 15 years then I'll still be quids in.

Awesome number plate! -
Watching with interest. These look awesome. Dirk, I think you can expect to be making quite a few of these ;)

From what I've read, not without arch work.

Congrats Jamie. Hope you have a great day and I sincerely hope the weather is ok. NYC for Christmas will be awesome. I went to NYC once (before 9/11), wish I could go again. -
Oh yeah, forgot you're up the road!! Once mine is back together we'll have to be like the chavs and meet up down the 'gate! ---------- Post added at 12:13 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:12 AM ---------- I'll get my two mates with 350z's to come, show the chavs how it's done lol ---------- Post added at 12:15 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:13 AM ---------- I should think it stops the MDF banging when your going over bumps too?

Hrm, can't find the torque figures in the bentley manual for the cross member and rad support. Any ideas anyone?
-
Small update. Got the front cross member and rad support fitted, just need to torque them up to the correct numbers. Also fitted the front poly engine mount that I got from Jay. Next on the list is to remove the rear engine mount and jack the engine up enough to be able to get the water pump out. These were the stickers I couldn't see/didn't know about. Never mind:

Watching this closely, I really want a sub and want to do a stealth install with a flat floor. Looking great so far, did you happen to take a picture of the floor piece before fitting the sides?
-
Well if mine ever goes for paint (looking unlikely) this is my wish list: Front bumper smooth (probably doing this anyway) Side repeater smooth (relocate to wing mirrors) Arches pulled and rolled Audi door handles Filler cap smoothed and relocated behind one of the rear light clusters Roof gutters smoothed Sun roof smoothed Rear tow eye removed (probably doing this anyway) I guess that's quite a lot, but that's what I fancy :) Some of it's for looks, other bits are for rust prevention (getting rid of typical rust areas).

"Bound to cause disappointment"...it's like they built them to break down :bonk:

Haha! Would be great to drive this really slowly for miles to a dual carriage way then burn off at top speed!
