Stealth CCGB Day [56k Beware] Downloads Ready :D
corradovr6sc replied to dtjames's topic in General Car Chat
That was me :) My car made 274/241 before the schrick and 275/240 afterwards. The schrick only seems to have added 10 lbft in the lower revs and probably makes a bigger impact on a non-supercharged car. Guy Hartley's car was down on power due to a boost leak and belt slippage. -
I think the threaded extension in the pic won't fit through the oe heat exchanger.
-
I've got one fitted and will be there. I'm using the original cover plate and short threaded adapter on the original threaded bar.

Could be a low brake fluid level or dodgy sensor on the reservoir cap.
-
From my demon-tweeks invoice from 2001 when I purchased the suspension.
-
I think koni/h@r owe you some money :)

Koni part number: 8741-1259S front (£190) 8041-1108S rear (£130) H/R spring set: 29872 (£130)

the sensors are magnetic and attract a lot of crud. give them a clean and see if the light goes out.

I've seen 2 integra type r's recently both of which produced plumes of blue smoke on acceleration. There are not that many around but these clearly had some burning oil/engine issue so others might have the same problem. If you go for a test drive check the oil level and the rear view mirror!

Don't know if it's been mentioned but the doors are so rattley. Think it's something to do with the window mechanism rather than the door cards but it's really annoying. Anyone know what the problem is/have a fix? -
I had a hub nut shear off a while back. It happened shortly after a garage had taken the hub off to replace the cv boot but they didn't replace the nut and/or must have overtorqued it causing it to snap the end of the driveshaft off. Don't know what was still holding the wheel on.
-
Think they are the same. My koni adjustables are specified for the 16v and vr6.
-
no problem

DrMat, you have pm!

-
Johnboy98, I'll send you the instructions if you want?

Americans calculate whp as a 12.5% loss through the transmission so a stock 2.8 vr6 with 174 hp would produce 152 whp. Transmission loss varies between cars but if they use this 12.5% figure based on crank hp they always end up with a high whp figure.

Would the plug which connects into the solenoid be available from vw? Think you might be able to buy a plug with the wires attached to solder on to.

I've got vag-com with the 16 pin serial port cable. Is it possible to convert this to USB without having to buy new software or a new USB cable? I bought a serial-usb converter cable so I could plug into a USB port but the software can only access com 1(serial port) and not the USB port. Can the software be converted so it can run the USB from one of the com ports or would I need new software which allows the USB port to be used? cheers

Yes, but the cams are different

That's a brilliant find and for a fraction of the price of a genuine schrick contoller! Just hope it works ok.

The 3.2 engine is rated at 250hp in the audi tt, so the ecu must be held back quite a bit in the golf so a 20+ hp increase is not inconceivable with the right chip tuning.
-
As a comparison an r32 goes into amd with 240 hp and comes out with 270 hp courtesy of a chip and exhaust.
