Did anyone plug the small hole in the hose (intake-isv) which used to be connected to the isv damper?
-
Got mine today :D Fitted the manifold but still got the wiring to do. Agree about the vacuum lines. Managed to fit the cable tidy so it looks neat too.
-
can the hose be clamped?
-
I've seen that before. Formerly owned by Mark (anorak on the forum).
-
does it still pink under load?
-
That's good news,:) what did you do to make it run better? Wish mine would arrive :(
-
Kev, have you got any vacuum leaks? Just that someone on the golf forum had a problem with one of the vaccum lines into the vaccum tank which didn't fit v. well. Is the power crap low down or high up or both and its it switching ok?
-
The leads should be long enough to fit in the plastic guides- they don't have to travel any further with the shrek installed. looks much neater too.
-
Nice work Kev! Are you mounting the shrek ecu on top/next to the engine management? where is the best place to earth?
-
Something to do with being a centrifugal charger and because of the pulley size. It just doesn't shift that much air a low revs. Other chargers such as the g-lader flow better at low revs but not as well at high revs like the centrifugal charger.
-
Yes, the logo gives about 5 lbft extra torque  The supercharged engine needs the vgi too as there is nothing happening until 3500 rpm when the charger starts boosting. Do you notice any power difference at high revs-does the manifold flow any better at peak revs/has the power band altered?
-
Ok, the first to be diy fitted. What impressions do you have of the manifold-was it worth it? I've spoken to Vince and sending mine back for exchange.
-
The first schrick has been fitted :) . Check out the Golf vr6 forum for pictures and details of the install.

No VR6, I've got yours!

I'll give Vince a call tommorrow and see if he can find my missing letters.

Just picked up my shrek and I've been sent the wrong one. Ordered with logo and got no logo! It says on Stealth's invoice "with logo" so there might have been a mix up.

Here's an alternative air compressor filter catch can on my car. It uses 1/8-1/4 fittings

Front engine mount gone! Nice egg in bonnet! Now fixed :-)

headgasket looks a bit leaky. Think you need to dirty the tensioner a bit for that uniform look. -
You could do it yourself and save a few quid. These cars are old now and as we've seen fvwsh/fsh doesn't mean all that much when it's time to sell.
-
I don't know if it's the same thing but when I press/depress the throttle it is slightly jerky. It must be a VW trait as my polo does it too. Unless it is something else. Think we need fly-by-wire throttles to smooth things out.

The best thing on vortex are the archives where you can find a lot of top quality information. Most things have been covered at some point so it's more worthwhile consulting these rather than posing a new question which either won't get answered or gets dismissed.
