Writing a PM now.

Just get switches that are in the ranges that you took off the originals. I wouldn't bother with the temp sender. A low pressure one about 0.5 Bar and a hgh pressure one about 1.8Bar Gavin PS I am not piss3d of with you, will be in Burnley tomorrow sorting some stuff.

I think I have some total closure modules in the garage if they are needed by anyone. Can't remember the price but not 10 quid. Gavin
-
You just need an alarm that does the locking then. Any old alarm should be capable of running the closure. I could supply one if you wanted. The Autowatch 161RL or something similar would do you perfectly. Just check that your insurance are happy with the factory immobiliser and that they don't want anything different. There will be no need to touch anything on the dash. Gavin

Do you want remote locking? It sounds like you might have got cat 1 and 2 confused. A Cat 1 alarm immobiliser will have something on your keyring as will a cat 2 immobiliser. There are transponder cat 2s which you don't have to touch on to a receptacle. Gavin

Send it to Adelaide Matt, I'll sort it for you. If the house ever sells

Did the new lens fix your problem? Gavin

Don't worry about the spare wires, mostly for options not fitted to the car and stuff. Gavin

sharlie1982, any luck yet? Gavin

You can't go messing without the pressure gauge. You'll not get it back as it was, if things go wrong. Like Flusted says it should be done, whilst using a rolling road. That way you can see what improvements have been made. Madly twiddling the 5mm allen bolt, won't achieve much. Gavin

Just buy a new one, they are about a quid from GSF. Gavin

Thanks.

Where can i get a manifold to fit twin 40 webers to my 16V?

'Everyone seems to be sticking their opinion in, but not one of them so far seems to have any experience with twin carbs!' I have experience of carbs and apologise for trying to save you time and money. -
Looks normal, only way to check is with a fancy gauge that measures the deflection. Compare a std belt and pulley set up to your modified one. If you don't think it's slipping, it's probably alright. It suffer a bit of slip, knowing that it's not side loading the charger bearings too much. Gavin

Neil Side of head, low pressure switch. This one turns the warning light off when you start up. Filter mount switch, high pressure, this one if, it is not seeing enough pressure at 2-2500 revs triggers the warning light and buzzer. The last one is the temp sender for the MFA. Gavin

Yeah sorry Neil, not much of a geek

Anyone know of one without going to Well Lane? I just want a print out for the insurance company. Gavin

I am sure I read of them years ago in a dub magazine. Created an XXXbhp 1800 mk1. Way above what anyone had seen before but 'had proof'. Gavin

Circlip bust on the gearstick is where my money goes. Lift the boot and see if the stick pushes off the pivot to the left. Gavin

Look like Audi 80 sport wheels to me. Not sure if they weren't Speedline. Gavin

> Kjet can produce the same power and will be free seeing as it's already fitted. Carbs are, in my opinion, a step backwards. If they were any good, then every team in formula one would be using them. As far as I am aware, none do. VW will have spent ages getting the Kjet set up just right. Admittedly, it can be improved on. You can find loads using the search. Certainly a lot cheaper than carbs. Getting the manifold is just the start, you need to drop the fuel pressure significantly. Carb icing is likely through winter. Poor comsumption is another by product of fitting them. If you like the noise, record one and play it on your stereo. > Gavin -
No mate you can get them from GSF and the like. Exactly them dissy as a digifant GTI motor. Don't pay extra for a 'G60 one'. You could hunt out a second hand one and then assuming it fixes it, buy a new one. They are touching a hundred quid new I think. 2nd hand might be a tenner or so. Gavin

He should be able to isolate it with a diode I would have thought. I have a snag on my MK3, when you stop and turn the ign off at night the headlights stay on even with the switch set off, until you turn the blower fan off. The fan is also running with the ign off??????? The power that feeds the fan is running back into the car and up the ign live. It could be where they have taken the ign live from too I guess. It should go to the black wire from the ign switch. Some later Cs have a wire that comes live when the key is in the ign but in the off position, this wire allows you to listen to the radio without turning the ign on. Gavin

Don't know about the leads but I suspect the distributer(hall sender) is failing. Gavin
