Width of the wheel will be smaller giving you the clearance. Worked for me. Wheel spacers is the long term answer to the problem though.

Get new teflon lines if you havnt already. Around £20 from gwerks i seem to remember. Edit - they can supply the banjo bolts with it, just incase that wasnt quite clear

Sitting low doesnt do much harm really, its not like the old beetles where the oil sits inside the shaft. Will put a little more strain on the bushes but nothing there not built to withstand. Depends on the quality of the parts as to how long they last really, can pick up a pair of non gen wishbones with bushes and complete steering arms for under a tonne. So cost isnt always a problem. Nothing to stop you winding it up 10mm if you wanted to though.

It was broken, well the cable snapped and the window brackets, so i was replacing on my break. Bought the regulator repair kit. Was going well until it slipped out and the cable unwound, doh! Then it was the end of my break, only get 25 bloody minutes

Dropped a bollock and the cable has come off the spindle that winds the cable up behind the motor. Any clues on how to get it to sit right again or is it trial and error? Jim

or put a set of standard steelies on for the mot. looking good though. my mate has 10" wide tig welded steelies on his b2 gl5 passat, looks pretty cool.

just got to get on with drilling them really. use the same size drill bit as the allen key you are using. countersunk heads dont take alot for the head to fall off so your unlikely to damage the wheel. then use mole grips to wind the threads out once theyre all off.

Strange one, no boost at all? How much fuel is it drinking? Assuming youve checked all vac hoses id strongly suggest a smoke test. But are you sure youre wired up correctly, doesnt take much to upset a g on digi 1

me too, theres a farm shop about 25 metres from my front door. at least i know where it came from and have to agree it is generally better than the supermarket stuff. long live the british farmer :)

another avoid for tcs from me. bloke has minimal knowledge of cars but chooses to trade them!? seen plenty of his crap end up on egay.

mine was doing this on and off for about a year, then the contacts in the arm shorted and started pooring out smoke. new arm and everything was working again. nick somebody elses for half an hour and see if it cures it.
