  1. well im driving a 106 :nono: christ there horrible. changed ignition switch, and went with the assumption 67 relay has now been replaced with 167 relay for the ecu. still no spark :( so anybody have any idea whether the green cable to the coil has a switch on it? or is the ecu dead? cheers jim
  2. Will give it a go on monday boss, if it doesnt work i have to drive a 106. Bad times
  3. well car started and was happy on tickover then cut out. thought it was coil intitally but never known one to go like that. all tested, weak but working. seems to come down to the green wire which feeds to it. is there an ignition amplifier? if so where? alternativly is there a switch that feeds it? if so again where? finally what i fear it may be, two pins were getting hot from the ecu and the volts adjust with ignition cranking so i assume this is part of the circuit. ecu dead? help please, asap.
  4. Got cought out in a stupidly heavy downpour today and had to drive through some puddles that were higher than the kerb. Car/engine was and is fine but then the stereo had a crackle then went quiet. Started to work as normal again. Put full beam on and it goes really quiet again, headlights seem dim too. Any ideas? Will it dry out? Or is the alternator fooked? No batt light on.
  5. dont even want to know how much ive spent. the most common thing my mum says to me about the corrado is "and how much will that cost?" :(
  6. well without being off im pretty fed up of this now. keep seeing the bad seller thread come up and to be fair this is the sort of thing that deserves it. have a word.
  7. got to love the sensible answer. if i had that button i would press it 8) wasnt the mat sadly. put boost pipe back on and found a small fuel leak. fixed that and its quick as fook now. must have cleared some poop out. no idea what made it happen, clutch playing up? yeah i could have done with a fresh pair of boxers to be honest, didnt know if it would hit the rev limiter and blow the charger :gag:
  8. Driving to work this morning about 3k in 3rd gear. Revs suddenly shot up to the top of the red line, foot off pedal and it stayed there for a second until it popped a boost pipe off. Any clues as to why? Never done anything like that before. Glad oil temp was at 90 so minimal harm done. Throttle cable is new and tb freshly cleaned/lubed.
  9. bummer wish my old phone worked. pics are so much better but here goes. we have school buses in leicester with "ride the beaver" written in massive letters all over them. and at my old local they had a sign that read "any unattended children will be sold as slaves" always tickled me when i had a skin full
  10. Should do dude. A 3.5mm id hose from the back of tb. And a larger hose from the side of tb, below the 90 boost pipe. I think its a 9mm id pipe, but not 100%
  11. have a split in the larger vac hose for the co pot, does anybody know the id of it? or better still have an offcut of it? cheers jim

    still whooshing

dont think you can completely get rid of it to be honest, unless you remove the charger. the compressed air will still be chucked out the bottom of the throttle body with a boost reurn pipe fitted.
  13. thats a new one on me. hope you didnt pay much for it :gag:
  14. balaclava + baseball bat :D get a second opinion on your second opinion of the belt age if your not convinced.
  15. nope. just pop the clips open front and back. lift old one out, quick clean if ith inside of the box is dirty. new filter in, clips back down. cup of tea and pat on the back.
  16. 4 and 1/4 ish litres. I buy 5 litres each time.
  17. they look good, i have them on my sort of red rado  get plenty of compliments from people in the know. dont really look like fook all to anyone that doesnt. word of advice 50mm splitter would be a good idea. i get fed up of my snow plough scraping on everything.
  18. yes, you see it coming out from where the leak is.
  19. its quite possible that it could be. unless you have the kit, the same i did take it to a garage and ask them to do it. it just pumps smoke into the air intake and then you watch for leaks. handy on a g60 to check the boost pipes too. think rmoving the mani on a 16v is pretty straight forward, new gasket about £13 and a tube of gasket sealer about £5. might cost more for the test so maybe youre best off just chnging it in the first place to eliminate it. hope that helps
  20. well after a shed load of investigation, (at least i know so much of the car is in full working order  ) turned out to be a bad inlet manifold gasket. was found by using a smoke test. replaced and everything is back to normal. happy days.
  21. the decat should fit with the bolts sticking out, mine did anyway. if not options are drill holes in the decat bracket (smarter option imo) or cut the bolts. make sure you put the right gasket in should be a round metal one. the random extra bit you dont need, mine went in the bin. i lined up three of the branches but then the passenger side one was out, used a bar to bend it into place. had to take inlet manifold etc off to get the 4 branch in. use plenty of sealer too, dont wanna be taking it off again.
  22. ive got the mani on mine. didnt fit great, had to bend it into shape. glows like a bitch but does its job well enough.
  23. yes lucas 54's are 280's aswell. think the girling ones had two pistons. from the mk3 golf yes i believe so. but then vw went back to lucas for the early mk4 i think
