    insurance has indeed gone up. every type of it. my man says its down to the volume of personal injury claims poeple are putting in.

  3. i dont think its that unusual there are many a pink car in leicester. probably within 20 houses of mine there is a pink ka and a pink tigra. they all look poop, but just seems quite common for girls nowadays

  7. thats after a good thrash down the a46. the golf used to go to 126 in the summer and that never spat its dummy out. i have a mocal but took it off when fitting fmic. havnt bothered to put it back on yet, keep meaning to but some longer lengths of braided hose for it but i have a crap memory. maybe ill get on to it. thanks for the reminder :lol:
  8. ha ha yeah could be a little ott. mine comes on at 96 (oil temp) and seems pretty good for a cheapy to be fair. havnt seen oil temp over 108 so im more than happy with it. not had a hot summers day yet so havnt really pushed it so far

    it seems that all is not well......again :pale: its quite stuttery to drive and seems down on power. makes lots of noise but doesnt reall go anywhere. idle now sits like this vac pipe had it? cant see any damage on it, but wont do any harm to replace. where to get a new one from? any other ideas?
  10. i replaced mine with a slimline fan and wired it to only work on fast speed. maybe worth thinking about.
  11. http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1980960 gives you an idea of what your up againts. if your doing fronts your prob better off buying new wishbones without bushes as they dont cost alot and save alot of hasstle. try veedubmachine. ive generally heard bad things about powerflex???
  12. water temp? putting hot air on may help slightly. cold air wont do anything. how old is your coolant? checked for any leaks?

    small pat on the back. seems one of the electrical connections on the throttle body was a bit loose. rammed it back in and all seems well for now :D
  14. look at the sticker inside the boot. normally sort of behind where the vw badge sits, or just under the boot carpet. 4 digit code normally. like mine is ly3d. then stick it in google and it will tell you.
  15. yes mouldings for door cards are different. wings are differnt shape to allow for change in shape of bonnet/headlights. may be more differences but they are the ones i know of
  16. idle has decided to sit at 1750 rpm again today. really getting on my tits. ive had a good grease up of throttle body and fitted and greased a new throttle cable just now. still no difference. the vac pipe to ecu seems fine. boost pipe onto throttle body was a little loose, have tightened but no difference. waiting for it to cool down and im going to give manifold bolts a tweak. have put a new isv on it and this solved the problem for a few weeks...... any ideas before i make use of the jerry can and a lighter??

  20. its been on the road for two weeks now and although it still has some issues like 4 wheel allignment ars*holes, and gearbox :( it makes a an amzaing noise all the time, especially when you give it some right shoe. but most of all im impressed by how much the bmw community underestimate it, and the look on there face when you go round them with your middle finger up :lol: so many compliments coming from all over the place too, really wasnt expecting anything like it. even with haggard paint. although im ashamed to show it beacause of the paint im looking forward to getting back into the shows this summer. roll on stanford hall. be proud of your rado's boys and girls they are a rare beast.
  21. cant claim to be an expert but id assume the timing of the charger is out. seems to be fluctuating the revs in time with the noise from the bay.... id leave it off until you have a better answer than mine.
  22. if that was aimed at me mine have covered less than 200 miles so i hope they are still good.
  23. do you not find the same problem too then? im running the 1.8 16v box. i think mine is around; 2nd - 43 3rd - 70 4th - 100 5th - 130 it flies through the revs, so seems to waste so much time/actual speed from changing gear. needs one like the mk2 driver had on it 2nd - 60, 3rd - 90, im thinking. seems like such a waste of torque
  24. does my fookin head in too. such a scam as the 1 ltr bottle is normally a bit under half the price the 4 ltr bottle.
  25. bit random and im sure i could find it if i looked hard enough, but so much easier to ask you. what gearboxes are you running in each? mine is on a 16v box at the mo and im fed up of changing gear constantly. tops out around 130 too :( had a diesel box on the golf which was loads better in terms of length of gears and top end but it died after a small trip of motorway ragging.
