  1. I'm afraid the ombudsman will probably not help here. I had something similar recently (I'll save it for another thread when my car is fixed in a couple of weeks - it wasn't my Corrado luckily) while claiming from a third party insurance and the ombudsman couldn't get involved due to there being no contract between me and the other insurance company. They could only get involved in matters between me and my own insurance company. However there is no harm phoning them for advice. If it were me I would be writing some VERY strongly (but polite) letters stating that it is not up to your bodyshop to agree to their terms and that at no point have you agreed to be bound by their conditions either. Ask them to evidence where this agreement between you and them was signed (which of course they can't) and advise them that their bodyshop is not an acceptable solution in this case. You are claiming against them to cover the costs of your loss and expect it to be covered in full (on your terms) otherwise you will be seeking legal advice which may result in a further increase in the overall cost of the claim. You may have legal cover on your own insurance policy (or even your house policy) so that is worth checking. I am no lawyer obviously so don't know the legal position here. However I have successfully sued a cyclist in the past (they settled a week before the court hearing) and have just won my case against a hit and run driver on my unattended car after some strongly worded letters to their insurance company. So I'm happy to look over any letter if it would help. EDIT: Don't bother phoning them anymore. Start writing recorded delivery letters with deadlines ("Please respond within 14 days", etc). It is easy for a large company to dismiss phone calls but writing a letter shows you're more serious with your intent. It also starts to build a case in preparation for legal action if it goes that far (and the company will know this). EDIT 2: Did you claim from your own insurance (who then claimed from the third party) or directly from the third party's insurance (which is what I did)?
  2. Drove it. Drove it some more. Then drove a bit more. Got ****ed off that it rained while I was driving it. Thought "screw it, it's wet and dirty now so may as drive it for the rest of the day". Then drove it again. Everyone should drive one of these at least once in their lives :) Happy days :)
  3. So glad these were the first things I replaced on mine when I got it. My dealer told me there were only a few left so I just grabbed a set. I wish I'd bought them all now and flogged them :) (joking)

That's beautiful. I almost bought a mk5 R32 before opting for the mk6 GTI but I still think I'd have been happier with the R32.
  5. Really interesting... http://earth.nullschool.net/#current/wind/isobaric/1000hPa/orthographic=-13.21,52.68,2048
  6. Can't see it as I'm not a member. What is it and how much? Is it the Quattro Sport as I suspect that will be out of my budget? EDIT: Just signed up to see it and it is indeed a QS. Beyond my budget sadly and also the yearly tax on it is huge.
  7. Well I took a look at a 330 Clubsport at the weekend. Unfortunately after a 1.5 hour drive I got there and found a big nail in the wheel (seller didn't seem aware) so I didn't want to drive it and make it worse. But I did have a good look over it and said I'd think about a test drive. I really liked it to be honest. It felt smaller inside than I expected (which is a good thing - I like feeling enclosed) and it certainly felt a well built car. I'm strongly considering arranging another viewing or if that doesn't happen then keeping on the lookout for another. But I got back in the Corrado for the drive home and it did feel absolutely unique and the Recaro's fantastically comfy. It's just such an event driving it. Sadly it's now filthy and needs a wash :( But it's a credit to the car that I was just as happy getting back into it. Small car, big capacity engine, rare, you can't really beat it.
  8. Beautiful seats. I recently spent a few hours in mine on a long day trip and they are just so comfortable. GLWS :)
  9. I called them recently (when I bought I've from a forum member here) and apparently they were at about £80 but all stock now snapped up by their French subsidiary. Worth a try though.
  10. Welcome. Hope you find what you're looking for :)
  11. It might work at a 'friendly' MOT place or if they don't notice but technically the ABS light has to come on and then go out for an MOT test.
  12. I see you've put the grey one up for sale. Well I guess that was the right decision. Always emotionally hard to sell one though.
  13. Welcome. Great username, especially as we all drive what was really the mk3 Scirocco. OK get my coat and leave... :)
  14. I don't know for certain but in pretty sure any would do. I don't recall any change to the doors between older and newer trim, apart from the door cards. Bladdy annoying though :(
  15. Yay. I'll have a cap please. Do you want payment now to the same paypal address?
  16. Thanks again for the input. I had leaned quite strongly towards the 330 but I think that clubsport has gone but I'm certainly going to have a look at a couple of TTs and 330s.
