  1. Yeah me too. Need some oil too for a service shortly. Ah well I'm sure there will be another offer soon.
  2. A proper trip back in time :) I'll have a look around to see if I can find any pics of me and my mk2 GTX at about the same time.
  3. I like the sound of that :)
  4. That car looks a lot of work to get right with the rust. For the right price it would be worth it but considering it would be cheaper to buy a better condition one than to buy that and get the bodywork done properly I would suggest looking for another. As mentioned buy on condition not because it has a couple of badges and leather.
  5. Bought a reconditioned cylinder head from EnthusiastOwned. Good comms and arrived safely. Thank you.
  6. On a phone so can't really see the pics but headlights get hot so will this affect the relays?
  7. Good event but if I go I'll be taking a car cover this time :)
  8. Can't believe how much these go for now (not that I'm complaining).
  9. Really appreciate the comments. Thank you :) Selling? Not currently but if I ever do then I would certainly prefer it to go to a forum member :)
  10. The interior of that takes me right back to 1998 when I bought an R reg Golf mk3 Highline. That was such a nice car. Personally I like 5 door golfs as the whole point if a golf is practicality and a little performance in GTI or VR6 guise. Apart from the mk1 and mk2 the three doors always look odd to me. Maybe I'm just weird.
  11. I'm gonna get murdered. It's my wife's birthday weekend and I've just registered 25th National day and 26th Motorsport at the Palace.
  12. Might have to get one of those. I love hte look of the 90mm but although my car isn't particularly low it's always scraping on the splitter :(
  13. I do think that you would have an easier and cheaper life if you kept the green and sold the grey. But grey is far more unusual and a more modern colour. I love it. Strangely it seems it must have been less desirable back in the 90's and it was quite unusual for people to buy a grey Corrado, hence their relative obscurity now. I'm suffering from a bit of too much grey at the moment though (grey golf sitting next to a grey corrado).
  14. Motorsport at the palace was really good last year so I will be going to that too. It was only a small Corrado turnout but the range of cars was very interesting and watching the time trials was very good fun.
  15. Yeah but the classifieds will be flooded with used wheels missing the centre caps :D
  16. Mine is in great condition to be honest. Stitching all good, not to shiny, no rips. Probably doesn't need replacing but an opportunity like this doesn't come up often. I do age about modern Golf steering wheels though. My mk6 wheel is superb.
  17. I believe they are obsolete now and are a common failure point as they become brittle with heat. Your best bet would be to ask in someones breaking thread for a used part. Also there was a group buy for an aftermarket switch that a member arranged to be made. Take a look for the group buy thread and try contacting him to see whether he might run another buy in the future. These copies are meant to be better than the originals (I have one as a spare but have not used it yet). But as you need it right now I'd ask Larceny Fink in his breaking thread. Sadly his car was recently written off but I expect he'll probably have the headlight switch still in the car: http://www.the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=84983
  18. I'm sure it will be fine and after a 19 year wait I'm also sure my Corrado can wait a few more days while it's checked out to make sure it's the right one. Better to know whether they are right before they are sent :) It will be interesting to 'see' what a new one feels like compared to an original refurbed one though.
  19. I'm no mechanic but this guy seems to know a reasonable amount about the VR6... [video=youtube_share;EU_lrvQwQpQ]
  20. If that fails then try a thin bead of clear silicone bathroom sealant on the tabs. It should be invisible where the tabs are and act like a glue until easily peeled off when you want to remove them. I've not tried it myself on the headlight protectors but in theory it should give it enough grip to keep them on once the silicone has fully dried after a couple of hours. It acts like a glue that can easily be removed.
  21. Fantastic seats. So comfortable and makes the car look and feel much more special.

  23. Halfords Pro here. Reasonable quality for the price.
