to be honest , i pretty sure the bulb will be the issue. just double check all your fuses.make sure they are ok.
-
if the bulb is not illuminating when ignition is turned on it could be the bulb filament gone, which is very small, if you take it out and diasassemble it you can check the bulb to see if it has gone! myn went on vr, make sure you get the correct one,use the part number satmped on it, as there are many diffrent types.hope this helps

stueyb fast effiecent service, arrived well packaged as described , highly recommended.thanks again :D :D -
sounds to me like big end shell gone, and knocking, check oil level, i would suggest taking the sump off and inspecting the shell bearings for play and damage, thats too loud for hydraulic lifter/tappet noise.check oil on removal for swarf and metal debris! :gag: :?

just replaced my throttle cable on my 8v c, its been very stiff since i bought the car, 3yr ago, and got worse over this time,it looks like its never been replaced before, cable was 20 quid ish from vw, think they are on back order at the mo, it has made one hell of a diffrence to throttle response and its so much smoother, when i stripped the lower console out around the pedals, i noticed how the cable was cutting its way through through the plastic surround as it enters the bulk head , you can see this with a torch,i replaced the cable, to only notice the new cable did the exact same thing the cable is rubbbing over the plastic cutting it, ive spent a short time looking at this and no matter where you position the cable on the bulk head, the cable still rubs it, has any one else seen this before,i think this may be a production normality, as i cant see any other way this cable caan be installed to prevent this, and to all 8v owners flip a cable on it, if it hasent already been done, makes a big diffrence, really easy to fit aswell. :D

what a great pic, shame she looks like a big lass, well what ever floats your boat!! :D :norty:
-
3 some in a corrado , christ that would be fun !!!! has it ever been done anyone!!!! :D :D
-
i think truthfully the corrado sees alot of action in the passenger seat!!
-
:D :norty:
-
the old hump on the back seat can be an issue , the older corrado had a bench seat? passenger seat reclined all the way back is the best course of action!!! ha

thought id post this one up, just wondered if anyone has had any success, as its a very small coupe ! my ma8t took some bird in a late mr2 , and he said that was hard work.makes me wonder is anyone has been doin it in my corrado before i bought it, lates face it though, a nice corrado, set of wheels on its ass ! is a chick magnet!!!!! :D :D
-
if your on about the old thin plastic stick on type with corrado written on them, i think you can still buy these new as an accesory at vw dealer, i enquired about new hard plasstic sill cover on my late 8v , and they dont list them only the sticky corrado ones. :(
-
firstly i would stop driving it, could possibly be a duff switch, but considering when the engine is at idle it flickers would indicate to me that there is oil pressure problems, i would seek a good garage and get them to have a look, i know crank shell bearings are prone to wear at higher mileage, at lower engine speed(idle) oil pressure does drop and if there is oil pump or bearing problems then it would indicate this type of concern. but i wouldnt drive it until its looked at! hope this helps :brickwall:

10-40 syntha from vw is also ok for the vr engine, id stick to 10-40 for this climate.!
-
i dont think the vr are designed to run of on fully synthetic either, semi -synthetic is what is listed on autodata?!
-
vw do quantum batterys , not to bad for the corrado either, 30-40 quid three yr warranty! see ok, never let me down yet. :D
-
the platnum oil is fully synthetic, id prob recommend 10-40 semi synthetic , castrol gtx! is pretty good, i think the 5-40 wouldnt be suitable for the vr , but cant be sure?

check battery voltage, although its a new battery, the cold could of made the battery voltage low, failing that, check and clean connections, earth an pos, on the terminals, and the main earth to body!i have an 8v but have experianced this, have you tryed jump starting it,?
