crank sensor most likely cause of non start or coil. the rac dude should tell you which one!

good to hear the outcome!

heavy braking can cause the discs to warp, and the vibration can be felt through the pedal and steering wheel, prob your front discs! rear disc can also fade, to check this you can carry out a brake disc runout, using a dial test indicator.

you should have 12 volts on each injector, and the ecu switches the earth to actuate /trigger the injector to open, so if you have a faulty injector earth wire shorting to ground that will pump fuel into tha cylinder, try checking the earth side of the injector connector with the ecu disconnect and injector disconneted, check top see if the wire has short to ground, with both disconnected.

what to replace to make the clutch pedal softer?
volksworld13 replied to krnau's topic in Engine Bay
depending on mileage and when it was last changed, i would do the lot clutch kit, which incl- pressure plate, friction plate and release bearing. but usually the diaphram on the pressure plate is what causes the heavy /hard pedal. -

common wiring chaff in the channel running from front to rear on the battery side lift the loom over and inspect for damage to the wires, ive seen many faults through this wiring chaff.
-
try vagcat.com this is parts online, will give part numbers and prices in euros, so you can cross refrence, and then order parts, instead of the parts guy saying i cant find it/not listed ect/

ok done a few things this bank holiday, firstly cleaned out the garage , storm looks right at home tucked up in my garage now, nice and dry. started stripping the front end down, to assess things/condition, steamed cleaned engine area, battery/airbox tray, archs and suspension inner turrets,to check for corrosion , all in all good. solid body, few bits need treating, will sort later on. also cleaned all the leather seats/door cards with heavy duty upholstery , the water was hanging dirty by the time iv finished. New door lock pins fitted, and adjusted correctly ,would barely open before. looks alot neater. pics to follow.Corrado conversion V2 (3).pdfCIMG1412.JPG[/attachment:hjhdtmmy]Book1.pdfCIMG1413.JPG[/attachment:hjhdtmmy]stromlaufplan_gamma4.pdfCIMG1415.JPG[/attachment:hjhdtmmy]ETKA Corrado.pdfCIMG1417.JPG[/attachment:hjhdtmmy]stromlaufplan_gamma4.pdfCIMG1425.JPG[/attachment:hjhdtmmy]Corrado92.pdfCIMG1450.JPG[/attachment:hjhdtmmy]passat climatronic wiring diags.pdfCIMG1441.JPG[/attachment:hjhdtmmy]climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdfCIMG1453.JPG[/attachment:hjhdtmmy]2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfCIMG1421.JPG[/attachment:hjhdtmmy]CIMG1451.JPG[/attachment:hjhdtmmy] -
i would try and find the root cause for the immobiliser issue, first check your fuses, as on my 8v, the wing and immobilser run off the same fuse, then i would try your second key see if that starts the car ok, other probs are reader coils, and immobiliser coonectors loose, bent terminals ect. the instrument clusters arnt involved with the immobiliser side of things, try this 1st , see how you get on.alex

no the 8v doesnt have a isv on the ady engine. its built into the throttle control unit, it may need basic settings carried out, also inspect the wiring loom that runs down below the battery, and turn it over, there is a common wiring chaff there casuing throttle faults and poor running. the wiring shorts out on the sharp edge of the channel.

when you been kangaroos, you speed vibration through the clutch or the whole car shudders, if there is a slight jerkiness, it could be the engine mounts or the clutch.
-
ok try disconnecting the drivers side 1st, and then try cycling the key on the passenger door to unlock it, there could be two issues, the microswictch is faulty in either door handles, casuing it to saty down, or the passenger lock has seized, does the pin feel like when you lift it up it want to pull back down again?
-
reemove both door cards and remove the microswitch connector for the door handle, then try and lift the door pin up, do one at a time and find which handle is faulty, this hass happened to me before, one of the microswitches is duff, and you cant pull the pin up and open the door.
-
yeah its a multi spline, by the correct size, and on the rounded off one, hit the spline drive into the bolt, hopefully there maybe enough for it to bite onto to undo it. :brickwall:

hi just thought id start a restore/build thread on my corrado storm i picked up yesterday on saturday 27th.by the way my name is alex,24yr old and have been in the motor trade for the last 8 years, working for jeep /chrysler and now skoda. The condition overall, fairly good, requires some money spending, shes going to be declared sorn soon , for a full makeover inside and out, im first starting on the interior , making it look new again, im ordering lots of new trims ect tommorow, to get some of the damaged scratched or broken trims replaced, the car is currently on 198k,completley standard i will eventually be taking the engine out , and doing a complete rebuild, with much attention to detail. well the car eventually arrived yesterday, after breaking down on the way to my house, non start , aa out and said it was the immobiliser ,it got 250 miles down to cornwall from whales, and broke down 25 mile from my house, it had a dealer fit immobiliser, which i have removed yesterday, as the fob was looking knackered and causing non-start, also found the ignition switch knacked, will be ordering that tommorow, spent the afternoon on vagcat locating parts numbers for bits i need. will get some good picys up soon, as im sure you all love them, to see whats happening! :Dcorrado.jpg[/attachment:21cj1q4v]
