  1. if its just had plugs, and it started after this, it may be the saprk plugs ar incorrectly gaped ,even triple core plugs when dropped or damaged can cause this, and like toad sed , possibly ht leads, do the cheap stuff 1st, try checking the leads at the plug ends for arcing, white lines tracking down the inside of the lead, where it goes onto the plug, failing that try substiting a coil pack with a known good one!! :D hope this helps

    fuel gauge

    did you find the problem?

    fuel gauge

the fuel tank sender unit could be faulty, i would take it out and manually move the sender up and down, the tracks are know to wear over the life of the car, you can also check this with a multimeter , on ohms, to see if you have good continuity and as you move the sender up and down the resistance will gradually increase and decrease, any skips in the track when tested will indicate a faulty sender, or try and borrow as dash as a substitute, and test, id check these two first before checking and testing the wiring , its the easiest. :D
  4. the heated mirrors are 50 something plus vat, i bough one last year, i have a spare mirror , in my garage, heating element should be fine, let me know if you want it, :D
  5. them brakes look fresh out the factory, i like the look ,nie work kip.! :D
  6. what sort of range are you getting ,if you have tryed the other keyfob and the batteries are good, it can only be the receiver/ariel inside the unit, time for an upgrade perhaps??
  7. the old sttle fobs on vehicles used to be infra red, but nowadays they have all change rf radio frequency, battery is the 1st point of call, try the other fob if you have one, if its better then its the fob,if not then it maybe the receiver in the car, has this been like it since you have owned the car? :?
  8. if its slippery it will do!!! :camp: :D
  9. suspect heater core, but would make sure there is no air locks, try bleeding the system/purging of air first. :D
  10. i think originality is more desiarable from a buyer prospective, and i do apprecaite a well looked after corrado that is standard and in original condition, the corrado its self is a really good looking sporty car, and dosent need to be spoilt with bodykits ect. ive been thinking of finding a really good condition storm , cleaning and making it mint, and moth balling it for 30years. pull it out then and youd own the road, heads would def turn!!! :D :D
  11. one thing i can highly recommend is replacing the lambda/o2 sensor or your corrado, if it hasent been replaced already, i think vw recommend replacment every 5years, as time goes on the o2 sensor becomes lazy , the special chemical properties breakdown through heat and exhaust gases and can give a less acuurate reading to the ecu, i replaced myn and i now have alot better fuel economy, mind you i do have a 2.0 8v corrado and now im getting abetter 35-40 mpg on a good run /motor way mileage. :D :D
  12. when did the n-cap rating apply to motor cars, that makes me think how safe is the corrado in an accident, no air bags or pretensions in uk market,!! prob be 1 star in the rating :norty:

  15. the screw holding the handle in is a left hand thread try turning the screwdriver the other way and it will come out, if you look closely it has an arrown marked the the screw, if its not too rusty. :D
  16. use an inflate a wedge off of snap on, bout 40 quid, or a wedge of wood tapped lightly down the side of the door just enough to get some pincers on the door pin, and handle , works on most cars.
  17. no worries glad i could help cheers
  18. bingo i would recommend a book on history of mk1 golf,mk2,mk3,corrado,scirroco,vento a bit on spec vr6 ect.storm corrado, good pictures specs and the history and design of them! :D vw golf james ruppert, its got corrado stuff in about storm, spec and design , ect check it out ebay- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-GOLF-BY-JAMES- ... 6004r24565

  21. the heated glass is still available from vw about 50 quid, i have a drivers side one used, slight corrosion on the edge but heats ok, :)
  22. got there in the end! :D :D
  23. i would prob take it to a garage, get them to diag it,parts can be sourced from the vw delaership, ive not come across this before but it would help, if you remove the trim around the geargaiter and check the tower, and inspect the linkage on top of the gearbox, and get somebody to work the reverse whilst inspecting it.
  24. i would start by disconnecting your wing mirror glasses and testing, and heated washer jets.the back of the heated mirror glasses can corrode and cause ashort circuit.
