  1. Sometimes they are enough to drive you insane mate !
  2. Super quick fitting mate , glad it's all going well . One day I will be able to get up to see you , when we arnt both working lol . . I picked up some G13 too .
  3. You must be looking forward to fitting that new engine , it looks amazing .I would love to be able to do this . I cant see your last pics though .
  4. I'm getting a little worried about the car with winter approaching . I have a breathable cover , will it do any damage to leave it on ? . They still trap moisture . I only have a drive to out the car on now . With winter looming , next doors trees will be covering my car in crap . I think I read somewhere it's best to use a good wax and let the car breath and the water to drain off . I can't be doing with hoovering the scuttle everyday to remove twigs , leaves and stuff . Any pointers ? Rob
  5. I'm sorted now thanks Chris . Kind regards Rob
  6. I think that's for a car , without central locking ?
  7. If it's all coming back to you , get over to my house and fix mine , Hull isn't that far , I can't come to you as mine is sorn . Seriously though yes this is what I've been trying to explain . Both rods connect to it , that's what maks it so difficult . Thanks for the pic Rog, very kind of you mate . I'm going to try again on Sunday !
  8. There are two metal rods that connect to it Jim. One off the pump and the other to the door pin .
  9. Nice work Rog , hope it all goes to plan for you .
  10. Has anyone got this part ? . The part that bolts to the inner part of the door , with two Allen key bolts . Many thanks Rob
  11. Right , so when the plastic piece has the rods attached to it it's basically floating on the inside of the door skin . You then insert the door lock , so the metal prong slides into the plastic part . One rod goes up and the door pin screws onto it , the other goes down and into the central locking pump . So when you press the unlock or lock on the fob , both pins can pivot on the plastic part up and down .The long rod goes to the door pull , that's easy enough obviously . It's attaching both rods into the holes of the plastic part that is proving difficult . I guess perseverance is the key .
  12. It's a real struggle . What I'm trying to do is , push the plastic pivoting piece into the lock , insert the lock , then try and attach the two rods while trying to hold all the parts together at the same time .
  13. Thanks for the reply , does the plastic bit fit into the lock and then get pushed into the door ? . I'm struggling to get the rods on to be honest . When I've managed to do it , its gone all tight with hardly any movement .ive released the locking pump to get more movement too .Its getting very tedious now !
  14. I thought these had to be pushed upwards in a sliding motion ?
  15. That's a long time to be away mate , hope you get some progress on the VR soon .
  16. I got a couple of pics today , there must be someone on here that can help . Im starting to wonder if i will have to drill out the rivets on the doors so i can gain access to these parts .
  17. I cant comment on the above product , but ive tried a few things , not cheap stuff either . I found that when it rains you get black streaks down the bodywork . I now use maguires detailing spray on nearly everything on the exterior , this lasts and will not produce nasty marks .
  18. You have the old break shields in my parts Rog , do they look the same ? Thanks mate .
  19. Thank you for the info and the offer , I may well take you up on that . Rob
  20. This is becoming a little worrying now , I received the parts looked at them and put them back in the box . Having never held or taken off these parts from my car , ie I've got nothing to compare the new parts to , I was thinking everything was right . I'm now going to have to list all the part numbers and ring them to double check it all matches for a VR . Mistakes happen , I've been sent a dizzy cap for a valver before , as soon as you open the box you know , but it's obvious as it only has four lead holes . Parts that you have never taken off before are a different ball game . Rob
  21. Thanks for pointing it out Jim , well spotted ! . I've emailed James at vedubmachine with the part numbers , glad you spotted it now , otherwise I would not have known till it came to the fitting . It is a completely different part number .
  22. Not really , it's such a small hole to get your fingers in , let alone take a pic . Out if everything I have done on this car in the last 7 years , this has to be up there in the top ten pita list !
