It does look fantastic. Amazed you've not managed to sell it yet Struan. -
Brilliant. You couldn't make it up!!

Fantastic news :) Keep us updated!

Hi Michael - have you got a good condition centre tunnel trim? The main bit that has the four C shaped "legs" that anchor to the body work, that always break? *edit* The bottom one in this picture: http://i665.photobucket.com/albums/vv11/lilfuzzer/silver%20pictures/20130915_115753_zps980772b1.jpg Cheers.

I would be tempted to source a genuine VW one just to rule it out. Actually I've got a bag of various 2.0 16v sensors that I bought as a job lot years ago for my old valver. They're all second hand / used but if you can send me a picture of your old one for comparison I'll see if I've got another spare I can send to you?

Seems very fair to me, Steve. Again, I think you're a fair guy and that absolutely comes across in your posts and I believe you bought the car with good intentions. It's just unfortunate that it happened to be a very well known car, was all. I know someone who was interested in the car prior to your purchase so I'll point it out to him.

I'm going to try and explain why I feel you've received this reception here Steve, and I hope you'd understand that actually it's a sign of a very enthusiastic and passionate community and that, if the circumstances were different, you might have have received a different welcome here. I'm both an admin on here, and a committee member for the CCGB. I've given a lot of my time over the last decade (if not longer) helping to organise events, group buys, production of the club magazine, etc. I don't say this in an attempt to attract praise and massage an ego, I say it to underline the fact I'm a real enthusiast for not only these cars - but also, and probably more importantly, for the community around it. What disappoints me is that this car belonged to a very well liked member on this forum who very reluctantly sold his car because of difficult personal circumstances, and aside from a spell with another enthusiast, has subsequently gone through the mill of changing hands. There's nothing more I can say than it just ****es me off. Cars in this condition are few and far between - yes there may be a few small niggles which need sorting but, overall, this has to be one of the best cars in the country still. It's extremely disheartening knowing the history of the car, and the condition of the car, that it's struggling to find a good home and seems to be used as being a profit making exercise. So I'm sorry for the criticism you have taken on this forum Steve as you do seem to be a reasonable guy, but you must understand why so many of us are disappointed with the situation surrounding this car - it's not your fault really, and you just happen to have bought a car which has become something of a totem for the frustration many of us feel about seeing good Corrado's being, essentially, speculated on. There's not many of them left, and to us they're special. They may be mass produced VW's, but for whatever reason they strike a chord for a lot of us. But it's not just about the cars, but also the former owners, and as I say Bill was a well liked guy who meticulously maintained the car, and was a real enthusiast and he sold the car under difficult circumstances. And this is why this car has become such a hot potato unfortunately. That said, I accept we probably should get a little more sense of perspective about all this and as I'm keen to underscore that for me personally there's no hard feelings to you directly - just frustration / disappointment about the situation in general.

Wrong thread? :)

2.0 16v has always been a bit of a black art unfortunately :( Hope you can get to the bottom of it. Where did you get the temp sensor from?
-
Nice one - cheers :)

I think it's priced about right. Low mileage but as the current owner says lots of scabby bits letting it down and you can see a lot of it in the pictures. Plus stuff like the leather hanging off the steering wheel, seat levers broken / missing, etc. Would potentially be a nice little project to tidy up for someone though.

As someone who's gone through a lot of hassle with their car in recent months, I salute you. It absolutely takes the patience of a bloody saint. Keep at it though - the finish line is in sight, I'm sure.

What ampage & make is the alternator Chris?

I'm not fooled by decent pictures. They do have nice cars on there though! I've seen that MK3 VR6. No MK3 Golf is worth that sort of money but it is absolutely immaculate and virtually as new.

Hm. Not working for me. I love Sebrings normally but I just can't get on with them that big.
-
Yeah - I need to emphasise that this is only with lowered springs. I'm sure they're a great damper with standard springs :)

There-in lies the problem.. not enough of the green folding stuff! :(

Tell me about it :) Alpina B10 is a seriously tempting motor! :)
-
Agreed. Good work and I hope it's smooth sailing for the reinstallation :)

The music from the most recent trailer for the new Christopher Nolan movie, Interstellar. Can't wait for the movie, or the score, though it transpires this isn't a Hans Zimmer track. His soundtrack has a lot live up to, if this is just nothing more than placeholder music!

My 1.8T Rado......End of the adventure.......Gutted!
Jim replied to rado-steve's topic in Members Gallery
Can't blame you for wanting a slice of ///M - fully understand the allure myself. It seems to be what a lot of Corrado owners are aspiring to these days. Good luck with whatever you decide to do :) -
It looks to be holes left from a hands free kit or similar for a mobile phone :( Not much they can do about it I guess but you're right - you'd think they'd try repair it! Is the big bunch of relays in front of the fan controller module in the engine bay related to the air conditioning? Porsche pricing seems to be insane at the moment. There's a lot of speculators jumping on the bandwagon with certain models at the moment - like GT3's, etc etc.

Welcome :) There seems to be an ever increasing number of members up in Scotland. Certainly a few in the Glasgow neck of the woods. Good cars often seem to come up for sale in Scotland too so.. keep your eyes peeled!
