  1. Seems like a CTEK charger is the only really worthwhile one to go for!
  2. Bosch Silver from Halfords will do you nicely. If you've not ordered a battery for a while though, make sure you're sitting down before you look at the price - they're crazy money!
  3. Either you had a car full of people, and were doing 120MPH most of the way - or there was something wrong with your car! An air filter, and a 6 branch manifold shouldn't make that kind of difference to the fuel economy.
  4. His car has a 1.9 TDI PD engine fitted. I can confirm it merely sips diesel!
  5. 30-40 quid for original Corrado VR6 grille badges these days? Crikey. I seriously need to look into getting them reproduced using this 3D printing tech, and trying to duplicate the silver finish.. hmm...

    Thrust bearing

Seems to be a common problem for VR's getting new clutches. I've known loads that do it, mine included. You do sort of learn to live with the noise to be honest - especially given how much effort will be required to correct it!
  7. Excellent - I look forward to seeing what he comes up with :) Will keep an eye out for updates!
  8. The next question is - wtf are those plugs doing there instead? :)
  9. Agree on the Rota's to an extent. I do love the CH's, but the Rota's are pretty cool - as clumpy says you don't see them on a Corrado very often and they give the car more of a purposeful / business like appearance rather than the CH which is a bit more classy. I'd totally understand it whichever wheel you stuck with longer term as they're both great but for different reasons!
  10. Personally I try to stick to whatever the posted limit is when abroad - and even on unrestricted roads still tend to stick to 70/80MPH! Flat cap and driving gloves ahoy! :) Does go without saying though - take out some European breakdown cover, just in case! :)
  11. Only just realised it was you I talked to for a good amount of time at Stanford Hall this weekend, in the concours area. Good to put a face to a name and look forward to seeing your car after the paint job :)
  12. Yes! Many times! Am going over to Germany in mid June in the Corrado, all being well, for a 1,000 mile (ish) round trip. It's a great car for doing a long drive - reasonably spacious (like for taking luggage and camping kit), reasonably fair on fuel and of course has a good range because of the 70 litre tank, and because it's the Corrado you can really enjoy it on some of the nicer roads you find :) Definitely a no brainer - take the Corrado. And as emu says it's surprisingly comfortable on long drives. My only tip (and I guess this should be obvious) just get it checked over, by yourself or your trusted garage, before you set off for any obvious leaks or noises, etc :) And I always travel with a few essentials - oil, coolant, etc.

    Storm anyone???

I think if you advertise it a little wider, you'll find it sold in no time. Sub 100k, mint condition Storm with some choice modifications. It should be an easy sale.
  14. First time I'd seen your car on the RH's, Ron. You must be pleased as punch - I thought it looked awesome.
  15. Brilliant - an aspiring filmmaker if ever I saw one :)

    Cheap Recaros

Yeah - that'll be snapped up and split for parts in a heartbeat I'm sure. Weirdly, for a 2.0 16v, it has the rear centre arm rest - the 2.0 16v always had a flat bench rear seat. I wonder if the floor pan is correct for the rear seats with arm rest as it's a different design on the 4 cylinders & the 6 cylinders I think!
  17. As I say just a couple of posts above, I'm still waiting to finalise the price with the 3D printing company. As soon as I have all the info, I'll be making a formal thread with all the info and PM'ing those who expressed an interest, to order from me.
  18. Cheers :) I have your pair safe still - I'll have to get your address so I can post them back to you.
  19. OK - test fitted on another Corrado this weekend and they seemed to fit nicely too. So I think we're good to go on an order. I will get in touch with the manufacturers again to confirm I'm happy with the finished product and finalise pricing, etc. I'll be starting a new thread with the full details, and PM'ing all those who expressed an interest, for them to get their formal orders in once I have that info. Cheers.
  20. I'm not sure that Chris ever posted a great deal about his car - he was pretty quiet / modest in that respect and despite taking it in for concourse events, I think really just owned the car(s) for his own pleasure. He was always happy to talk about his car if asked, but never really liked to advertise it - if that makes sense. The car is a Storm in Classic Green and has, I think, 46k on the clock. It's (as far as I'm aware) completely original apart from Koni T/A's and I'd be amazed if it's ever been in any kind of prang or had paintwork done - it's as straight as an arrow as you might expect!
  21. Indeed - think Eric had it, and collected it at the end of the day.
  22. Thought it was a really good turn out for the club today - stunning cars in concourse, and some truly fantastic cars on the CCGB stand too. A real credit to everyone who bought their cars today :)
  23. Welcome to the forum! There's another forum member in Marham - keep an eye out for his Corrado! :)
  24. Mate if you just pack the things properly, you won't have any problems. Get a massive roll of bubblewrap and some void fill from eBay and away you go :)
