  1. OK - fully confirmed. PM's to get payment will be going out in next few days folks :)
  2. Yep - just to echo the above comments. When you set the heater to cold, coolant isn't stopped from entering the heater matrix - a plastic flap simply blocks the air being pulled in from the air intake, from being passed through the matrix. So chances are the plastic flap isn't sealing correctly - either because it's jumped a tooth or two, or the sealing foam gaskets are toast. The only way to tackle it is going to be taking the whole heater box out...
  3. I'll drop Vince an email to confirm. I'd emailed him a few weeks ago to confirm how many people we needed and i'd said what sorts of numbers we were at. Will update the thread once I've spoke to him.
  4. SSD gone - graphics card reduced to £50. Cheers.
  5. Ah here we go :) http://thoms1.net/Ford/Reference/RONMONPON.html So US fuel does indeed seem to be PON and ranges from 87 (crap) to 91 (premium)... so converted for us that's 90 RON (!!) for their basic fuel up to 95 for 'premium' - I guess we get the better deal here. But then they pay less than half for fuel..
  6. I think the US octane rating is a little confusing, as I think they rate their fuel in PON rather than RON which is slightly different? So no idea what the actual comparisons are.
  7. Mine is at 190k currently. Sounds a bit clattery when cold, a fair bit tappety when warm.. but still pulls like a train, and runs fine otherwise. Uses oil well within spec in the handbook.
  8. I'm not too fussy except that it has to be super unleaded or better.. so I tend to either go for V-Power, Tesco Momentum, or if I'm desperate Sainsburys super unleaded as they're all my nearest petrol stations. Best stuff I ever filled up with was ARAL 102 RON in Germany - the car felt amazingly smooth and quick on a tank full of it!
  9. Looks like a good day out Eric! Did you get lunch in the pub again?
  10. Anyone thinking of replying, can I advise you to think about what you're posting. Any comments about how to illegally obtain the software will be deleted. Cheers.
  11. Great news. Look forward to seeing some pictures.
  12. A stunning part of the world indeed :) Sounds like you had a great time!
  13. Indeed. The new Focus ST's, Fiesta ST, and the outgoing Focus ST with the 5 cylinder engine are all cars I'd quite happily own. No need for badge snobbery any more at all.
  14. I've dealt with him before and know his tyre prices are great - as is the quality of the service you get :)
  15. Yeah - 5x112 mate, and the tyres would just have been too big anyway - 205/55/16 - I'm going to get a set of of 195/50/15's and stick em on a spare set of Speedlines I have. Should be able to get good tyres for about £200 - getting VR's native size of 205/50/15 would be a fair bit more expensive.
  16. Looking forward to winter in mine this year :) Need to get some winter tyres ordered though.. never going to go without them ever again after my first experience with them last winter :)
  17. Sounds fairly promising still then. PM will be going out hopefully in the next few days to sort out payment :)
  18. We are unless anyone drops out. Literally it's going to have to be all 15 people coming, at £30 each otherwise it's game over. If anyone is thinking of dropping out now please do so now so that I don't start taking payments for people only to have to refund everyone who has paid :|
  19. I'm not sure if it's just too soon after the VR6OC one, or whether it's because more and more Corrado owners are taking the SORN route... normally we're having to fight people off for these even when I've held them later into November or early in the year when it's FREEZING cold.
  20. That's certainly as good a reason as any for doing the swap :)
  21. Ouch - 50 euro is a bit steep though :(
  22. People do seem to make a bee line for the metering head, but I wouldn't be touching it unless it was a last resort. Removing the injectors is as simply as just pulling them out - but given how long the car has been standing, and the age of the car generally, you may want to look into replacement seals for them. Some info on removal and parts to replace here: http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=14341 Cheers.
  23. Agreed - just buying the VR6 seems the most logical thing to do :) Unless you're particularly attached to your 16v for whatever reason (condition, or other work you've done on it, or a rare colour or something).
  24. Apologies for being the negative one but read this, this morning... http://blogs.smithsonianmag.com/science/2013/10/radioactive-wastewater-from-fracking-is-found-in-a-pennsylvania-stream/#.Ukx4Cpn6i3J.reddit
