  1. That would suggest you've got the wrong springs for the rear I think.. that definitely doesn't look right!
  2. Apologies for jumping right in and trying to scalp something decent - I know you won't have come to this decision lightly, and know exactly where you're coming from with frustration and having to just call it quits before it breaks you financially and mentally! Take some time to think about it. Walk away from it. And come back to it with a fresh head in a week or so. Engine transplant proposed ahead is a good idea, but I know that they can be a nightmare too in terms of wiring and bespoke parts so - may not be exactly what you want at this point in time!
  3. Sooo... how much you thinking for the leather interior? And what colour is it? :)
  4. MSN loves the Corrado it seems. Someone on their editorial team must own one.
  5. The closing date will be if someone else beats you to it I guess. Would probably have to depend on some committee members to fill the stand if we don't get any other interest. In terms of the condition of the car - well, this isn't the restoration show (that's earlier in the year) so the car needs to ideally be road worthy and in one piece if you plan to display it on the stand! :)
  6. Annoyingly the heater direction cogs are on the underside of the heater box.. so even if you could reach the mechanism, you have such little access or visibility, not sure whether you could do anything effective with it!
  7. Might be worth just getting an auto electrician out at this point :(
  8. Did you see the one for the Seat Ibiza with the same part number but a 6KN prefix rather than 8N2? Wonder if they're, basically, the same...
  9. Hm - you're right. There seems to be many very similar variants though. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUDI-TT-MK1-WINDSCREEN-WIPER-ARM-LEFT-RIGHT-ARMS-8N2955408A-8N2855407A-/322160378326?hash=item4b024141d6:g:hfYAAOSwepJXZ9FD
  10. We've got space for two Corrado's on the CCGB stand for the NEC Classic Car Show at the NEC from between the 11th to the 13th of November. I'm going to shamelessly steal Eric's nice little write up about this: So, as Eric says, the car actually remains at / inside the NEC for the duration of the show - it needs to be there by the Thursday where you can get it inside the hall, washed / detailed, and then it has to stay put until the show closes on the Sunday. This of course is a lot of commitment but a number of us have had our cars on the stand over the last few years and it remains a favourite show without doubt. Lots of interest, lots of people coming up to chat and look round the cars, and of course the show itself is ENORMOUS so there's so many cars to see - I think it spans at least 6 halls of the NEC. CCGB thread is here: http://www.corradoclubgb.co.uk/ccgb16/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=2&id=9194&Itemid=190#9194 The club has a stand complete with gazebo and usually a table and chairs so you have somewhere to come back to and rest if you've had enough of walking around. If you have any other questions and want to know more, just ask. I'm a veteran of the event!
  11. Worth checking eBay - could pick up some pre-owned arms (seems to be a few on there) and then just buy new blades?
  12. If I had £15k burning a hole in my pocket, there isn't a Corrado on the planet I would spend that money on. Except maybe the 16vG60 in the basement of the Karmann museum, or maybe the VR6 with like 20km on the clock. Otherwise it would be something German and fast - Porsche, BMW, etc. Almost into E92 M3 territory with that kind of money.
  13. In all fairness though how many of your woes are down to the heavy level of modification you've embarked upon? It's not a criticism - I seriously think your car is fantastic. But just how much relates to weaknesses being exposed because of the substantial bump in performance on both the motor and the drivetrain itself? Not to mention the cost of those parts themselves. Inherently I think the Corrado is a pretty reliable, dependable car! There's a few known weak spots here and there - but I'm willing to bet that owners of unmodified originals who just keep up with routine servicing rarely run into any wallet crushing unexpected bills.
  14. OOH BINGO: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BOWDEN-CONTROL-CABLE-2MM-OD-INNER-6MM-PVC-COVERED-OUTER-CHROME-ENDS-1MTR-SET-/291387819817?hash=item43d8114729:g:HLIAAOSwv0tU6ISp
  15. Interesting - going to start looking for something suitable to duplicate it. I would have said bike brake cable sheathing but this stuff seems more heavy duty, with the metal braid around it.
  16. Jim

    Coilpack

Bosch seems like the best choice at that price. Not sure I'd go near the Topran personally :)
  17. I'll light few josticks, and say a prayer to Wilhelm Karmann!
  18. Speaking from my own experience of having gone through years of using a Corrado as my only car and a daily and now leasing a nearly new car as my daily, the benefits of having a car you can actually depend on and which works every single time you come to turn the key can't be overestimated. It's worth it for the fact you know you can just shut the garage door and walk away from a problem, and still have a reliable car to use every day.
  19. The most frustrating thing for me is, I just want the situation sorting - some kind of resolution. It's extremely difficult being involved in both 'clubs' at a high level, and trying to remain impartial on both sides of the fence. I feel guilty when I arrange an event, and don't advertise in both locations, etc and fed up of having to try and defend the club, or defend the forum against people who are passionate for either side. It's been extremely tiring frankly. Hand on heart, I've actually said a number of times to other committee folks I feel the club should just fold up. But I also believe that we can offer something more to Corrado owners as we do have a good warchest financially - and we've proven we can do events which people enjoy and feel it justifies their membership fee (such as Brooklands a few years ago, where we covered the entry fee for every member who wanted to attend, including the chance to park on the banked circuit). It just seems to have gotten harder to make things happen every year.
  20. Like I say I have a brand new one you can have for what it cost me. So be something like 8 quid delivered?
  21. Pete - What is the size of the operation for the VR6OC? As in how many of you are running it? Is it literally just you? I have often admired how modern the VR6OC setup is and how active you guys seem and always wanted to know a bit more.
  22. Thanks all. All feedback, positive, negative, whatever is extremely useful for us to take onboard and discuss as a club - it's appreciated.
  23. Andi offered exactly such very similar solution for the club previously (a CCGB branded portion of the forum, for us to conduct our club business on, advertise events, etc - in exchange for a fee, such as an advertiser might operate on the forum) however it was rejected. There seems to be a belief that in order for the club to succeed it has to be completely without help or involvement with the forum, and I (personally) feel that is a mistake for a number of reasons. The club are planning a get together in the coming months to talk through the problems and work through ways of moving forward, so I'm hoping forum association will come up as a topic of discussion again.
  24. Hm OK - I may remove my cable then and fashion something out of the old sheathing for a bit of extra protection. Cheers. Annoying that part is obsolete really given that everything else is available.
