Mine is far from immaculate. But just trying to maintain what I have now rather than letting it degrade further! It's easy enough at Gaydon. There's only one entrance and by the time you come you should see other Corrado's so just park with them. It's hard standing / car park, not mud / field. I'll draw up a map later (lunch or this evening) to illustrate where you need to walk up to for the meeting!

If you're not sure you'll last out the whole day, you can send comments / suggestions for AOB to the membership secretary via email - [email protected]. We normally send out a letter for the AGM every year to members advising of event and stuff such as this, but the whole committee are just utterly snowed under with other commitments in their lives, that it just didn't happen this year unfortunately.

Logistics of trying to clean up the car when it's kept in a garage nowhere near a water or power source means sometimes the practicalities of real life have to get in the way of such decisions.

Yeah - not sure I'm gonna bother bringing my Corrado to be honest and just come along in the daily.

The only thing that confused me about the video, was the guy saying that no company will make reproduction parts for cars like the Scirocco because they have such little value compared to say old Porsches, whilst simultaneously acknowledging that these cars are now very much mostly 'enthusiast' owned. And most enthusiasts I know will pay good money for parts - it's just that quite often they simply can't *get* them and seemingly companies that do actually manufacture reproduction parts are just too lazy to do research into which bits are obsolete and what enthusiasts are demanding. You only need to look at the roof gutter strips that karmannski is working on. I've no doubt he'll sell a boat load of those. And the binnacle covers I had made up - really the costs associated with getting them made were not that substantial and I could probably have charged more and people would have paid for them. The value of the car has precisely bugger all to do with it IMHO.

I sent my silver front VR6 badge off to my 3D prototyping company two months ago, and haven't heard a peep from them since, despite sending several emails. Sigh.

Glad to hear it's getting some attention again mate. Looking forward to the big day when you finally get her mapped! If you wanted to consider getting it done at Stealth Racing, you'd be more than welcome to crash over here if they needed a couple of days at it.

1K/year should be a perfectly comfortable war chest if you buy a reasonably well looked after one.

I'd be surprised if that wasn't still available from the VW dealership - have given them a try yet in the parts department? Pretty sure I'd replaced that one on my 16V.

Nice little video by Petrolicious about the MK2 Scirocco. I think many of the points he makes, and certainly the feelings he has about his car sum up for many reasons why so many of us persist with the Corrado as well. Certainly worth a watch.

Be prepared to travel to find the right one. There aren't exactly a lot for sale as you're not doubt finding :)

21 are the jubilee clips I think :)

Welcome to the forum :) Which pipe is it from here? The top pipe you mention heads into a flange on the front of the block which then splits off in different directions.. See the attached image.

Yeah - he said in the YouTube video about all the cars that had been bought ready for the new series. I don't imagine they buy a car, and then decide it needs to go off to get painted, and then just stop working on everything until the car is painted and returned to the workshop - I should imagine all cars for the series are bought in, and worked on as and when time permits, and when stuff is being sent off to get sorted they bring in another one and work on that.

Indeed. And in fact having compared 205 to 195's on Speedlines, the more I look at them, the more I prefer the slightly lower profile of the 195. The 205's look quite balloon like when you see them side by side!

Rear VR6 badges in chrome are available from VW Classic Parts.

Photo's do work but it's a little clunky, and you need to shrink them down to a sensible size - it'll throw a wobbly if you try and attach pictures straight out of your camera if they're at an enormous resolution :)
-
This is where VW fail badly. There is VW Heritage - I'm not sure if they're able to source / order parts from normal VW inventory, or whether they can only supply stuff from Classic Parts.

Are you keen on keeping the alloys you have fitted, Wayne - or would you be interested in a set of more standard 15" wheels? I've got a set of BBS solitudes in my garden which need a new home, all with Uniroyal Rainsports with years of life left in them, that I'd let go for a good price. The alloys would benefit from a refurb but are good enough to stick on the car for now.

Would have gone up but.. Corrado Club AGM is a commitment I have to keep to!

You're a little late to the party :) http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=90837 Think there's nothing more to say on this one so I'll lock it up!

Regarding the aux belt freying - do you know if it's just freying with age, or there's something causing it to shred belts?
-
Well I had the option of selfishly getting my car on TV (as I was asked if I knew of any suitable cars) and I think mine would have scrubbed up OK enough for TV possibly. But no.. it's not mine :) I thought were some Corrado's far more deserving of screen time!

Says they'll fit 280mm brakes so.. *should* do the job? :)
