Yeah it's strange. Going through the catalogue, some stuff you think is surprisingly cheap - and some stuff you think HOW MUCH?!
-
Yep. I mean the whole scheme in general as obviously Heritage are agents for VW Classic Parts in the UK.
-
I have to say when they setup VW classic parts I wasn't sure VW's heart was really in it longer term. But checking the site infrequently, I'm always quite surprised at how many new parts are being added all the time. Starting to wonder if VW are really taking this seriously and are going to make a real effort to keep up with the likes of BMW/Merc to help keep our old cars on the road?

Having had leaks from one of the oil pressure switches in that area, probably worth double checking that they're totally dry again!
-
Having you managed to get on top of the light running issues you were having mate?
-
Welcome aboard.

It may be a bit of an expensive option Chris but given the car and the originality of it, would be it be worth considering looking into clear wrap type stuff that they seem to do on a lot of super cars?
-
It doesn't appear to be. I use an RS-232 dongle, connected to my Mac, but using a terminal client within a Windows VM to communicate with some old computer hardware. Works just fine :)

The Air copes very well but you can buy a *much* more powerful Macbook Pro for similar money - the only reason you'd have the Air is if you needed the portability as it is a lot lighter than the Pro! The Pro is a better value proposition with more horsepower and more expandability options (ports). Admittedly if you've never used OS X there will be a learning curve.. but I really, REALLY much prefer Mac OS X to the current iterations of Windows. If you want guidance with specifications, etc don't hesitate to shout.

Anyone got a spare one in Scotland? We've got the majority of the country covered then!! ;)
-
Indeed. I've generally spend whatever money has been needed on my Corrado over the last few years but suspension really is a massively expensive hurdle I struggle to get over. Anything half decent is serious money :(
-
Definitely. I've been dabbling a bit with the free software I got on my Macbook Air - iMovie. It's pretty basic, but you can do quite a bit with it. If you wanted to get more advanced you'd need to consider Final Cut which is a bit of money. I've sent you a PM about Apple hardware though which might be of interest. It's extremely good for the importing / handling / archiving of media though I have to say. And the Macbook Pro is a superb piece of it.

Likewise. Have one with a mild bow in the middle but otherwise pretty decent. No straps. I'm in the West Midlands.

Hmm... that sounds like it could be the lambda probe? Is it a 1.8 or 2.0 16v?

Is the VR6 Power steering pump same on LHD and RHD cars ?

I think the X just means it's an exchange part, in that you need to hand in the old one. -
Music to my ears :)

Welcome to the forum. Ice Grey is a nice, uncommon colour (not to mention one of my all time favourites!) and you certainly don't see many 2.0 16v's painted in it. What are your plans for the car? You sound like someone likely to keep it fairly original rather than go down the route of heavy modification!
-
I had my wings rust treated and painted. One of them was bubbling up again within 6 months. At least taking the fibreglass route you eliminate that risk.

Great work David! :)

G60 Corrado - Barn find but how much to offer?
Jim replied to Craig Lovelock's topic in General Car Chat
I wouldn't be offering a lot. It sounds like you could be picking up a bill for a potentially badly rotten shell, in need of another full respray and an engine and / or charger overhaul - not to mention having to recommission the braking system, etc etc. If they'd take a couple hundred quid for it, then great. If not, spend your money elsewhere in my humble opinion! -
Bling bling :) These cars just look so awesome when the paint is good.
-
Yep - 100% :)

Jim replied to mic_VR's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
Might try and get down to this mate. Unlikely to track the car though! -
Purple Tom's 288mm and 312mm caliper/carrier emporium - SOLD
Jim replied to Purple Tom's topic in Parts for Sale
Can I take a set of 288's please? :) -
Great. It's no problem for me as luckily I have the later plastic type MAF - but will be of interest to Wayne :)
