Forum access blocked 1/2 way posting ...
Jim replied to Wayne2015's topic in Site Comments and Questions
The forum has decided that nearly 500 posts in a month is considered excessive. No, really I don't know. It sometimes does it. Just try again. If it doesn't work, go via http://direct.the-corrado.net as I think it might be a Cloudflare issue. -
The car being featured isn't a Storm - it's a white VR (again) though don't think it's the Volkswizard one they used in the last feature.

Welcome aboard! This is primarily a United Kingdom based Corrado Forum so it's hard for us to know really what US prices are like for the Corrado right now.. but to me that seems like a great price for a Corrado and a good little project to work on. Engine wise you could switch it over to a 1.8 Turbo or similar from a newer VW, or perhaps rebuild the 1.8 G60 motor and turbo that and ditch the G-charger?

Amazing footage.. really awesome. Wouldn't have been too bad I suppose as the guy went in backwards meaning he would have been pushed into the seat..
-
Super day out :) Stuck it out for most of the day and even got to run the Fiesta at the end (212BHP!) - but some really good cars there and a good representation from the Corrado Forum. Thanks to the VR6OC guys for organising and thanks to the Stealth Racing boys as always for taking their Sunday out to cater to us lot!

I just wish In.Pro would manufacture some OE style lighting! It'd be the answer to all our prayers, especially for the early Corrado owners where lights / fogs / indicators are getting hard to find.
-
That's strong money no doubt.. but it looks pretty damn clean. Wouldn't take a lot to revert the lighting and interior tweaks and put it back to just a nice clean Corrado G60 but I'm with easypops - it doesn't actually look that bad with the aftermarket lighting! G60's are getting hard to find though - think they're going to attain real world classic status (in terms of prices) quicker than the VR is.
-
As always, amazing work. Aftermarket steering wheels always divide opinion - they certainly do for me as I've always loved the standard VR one. But as aftermarket wheels go that's certainly an interesting choice and one I've never seen before - I think it works so look forward to seeing it in person to make up my mind for sure :) The Karmann badge is a real nice touch though.

Think this will be a local browser cache issue.. possibly.. typical type answer but have you cleared all your cookies and history, etc?
-
Regrettably just asked to have myself removed from the running list due to an unforseen bill which has just cropped up meaning I don't really want to stretch to re-insuring the Corrado for now. I'll still definitely go as a spectator but in the daily :( Damnit.

Graham Sykes well off with their price so think it's going to be Peter D James. Cheers for the recommendation Kippy!

Will split those comments out later.. apologies.

Bit harsh to call me a prick! But I will accept I was quick to jump to a conclusion. But I notice from a quick bit of research you're a motor trader and you've only just acquired the Corrado and are already selling it on. Honestly this isn't that kind of forum - we're really looking for folks who will be here longer term, to contribute to the community - not just turn up, sell a car, and move on. However if you would like to submit a proper advert, please go for it. Posting them on existing threads isn't the way to do things. The aforementioned links on how to use the classifieds should be your first port of call. This is the link: http://the-corrado.net/classifieds.php Cheers.

I guess when I say not knowing how to use the internet, I don't just mean the technical aspect.. but also the one of being a good citizen, reading the rules, etc ;)
-
Yeah - was going to say the KR motor was used in other VW's in the USA, or variants (9A) so you should be able to find parts and expertise for tuning - it might just surprise them to see that engine in a Corrado, that's all :)
-
Alas it's back to old school tuning options for the 16v really as has been mentioned. Head work (flowing, porting, etc), different cams perhaps, and that sort of thing! The USA generally seems to be better catered for in terms of modifying cars so reckon you might have some luck out there getting some of this work done there. Where abouts in the US will the car be headed?
-
Yeah - saw it and trashed it. I just think some people don't know how to use the internet.
-
Might give them a call at lunch time - thanks.
-
Welcome :) I look forward to seeing some pictures!
-
I don't think it's that kind of event mate ;)
-
I'd enter but there's feck all point. Just shy of 200K on the clock and it looks it so.. but do I applaud the idea of running a show and shine for a bit of fun :)

Big old engine (warning, may contain trains)
Jim replied to Roger Chatfield's topic in Off-topic Chat
I guess this explains why you're not shy with the spanners on your own car mate - car engines must seem like childs play compared to those beasts! -
Come on VEEDUBBED.. you've been on here nearly 10 years.. you should know you need to make a proper For Sale post.

Wondering if it's the infamous ignition switch problem again too. Non-car people do come out with some funny things. A purchase of something like a Corrado isn't driven by the head (like you might buy a new tumble drier) - it's for other reasons. I hope they can learn to understand that a 20 year old car may not always be the most dependable proposition! :)
