It lives down in the front bumper on the drivers side - if you look under the indicator in the black plastic vents on the underside of the bumper you should see a small hole where the sensor plugs in. You should be able reach it under the car. One thing to check is that both your fog lights work.. a Corrado I owned several years ago had the fog light on that side not working, and the temperature sensor didn't work - turns out the plug / connector is the same for both and they had been plugged into each other! Swapped them over, and all golden again :)

Seems a reasonable price to me given stuff like the leathers, and the low mileage. You'll find the right buyer eventually hopefully - just advertise it as wide as you can and prepare to deal with the time wasters!
-
Think you're going to make a lot of people happy when these eventually go on sale!
-
At least the front end of the Corrado comes apart quite easily :)
-
Ah super :)

Yeah but.. without trying to freak you out, the cooling system is a sealed system. Coolant shouldn't be consumable, so it must have gone somewhere - be that a leak or something. So you probably want to keep an eye on it!

You could do with trying a known good / working idle valve to be honest, to rule it out 100%. We've had a lot of talk of idle issues on here over the years, and indeed had the pain on one of my valvers some years back - and for all the other stuff to check, it's almost always the frigging ISV! :)

It's a totally different feature. Seemed to be something about good value pre-owned cars with 6 cylinders or more or 'V' engines? So I think they had a Corrado VR6, BMW M3 V8 and a Holden Monaro? Think they were all given a good thrash on a track too so should be a neat little feature! ahh.. found the forum thread.. my memory is better than I thought it would be :) http://forums.m3cutters.co.uk/showthread.php?t=112195

I've often joked that "Corrado" is actually German for "Bread and Butter" - cause every time I used to go to Stealth or DG Autotech, at least 60% of the cars there would be Corrado's! :)

Here's a random video to compare against: Will crank over slower possibly due to the cold temperatures outside at the moment - cold cranking power of the battery, and greater resistance thanks to thick cold oil :)
-
Car sounds like it's starting up fine. The VR does take a second or so of cranking usually before it comes to life :)

Blue smoke?

To be fair a lot of folks on here are part of the Corrado Club of GB and on VR6OC so you'll end up coming across the same people wherever you go! :)

From what I understand, it's possible to inspect the upper tensioner reasonably easily but I think there's a lower tensioner which, by the time you've took stuff off to look at it, you might as well get it all changed. Tough call. Might be worth ringing your chosen specialist (be that Stealth, or Awesome GTI (who I believe are still pretty good but not really heard of them talked about in Corrado circles for a long time)) and just get their honest opinion. Stealth certainly wouldn't ever try to sell you something you didn't actually NEED doing and could advise you impartially. Could just get it down there for a service and let them have a listen to the engine running.
-
Yeah - quite possible. The cold weather of course reduces the power of the battery and of course the engine is harder to crank. If you can just get it out of the car and trickle charge it, you can just rule the battery out and then start doing some other investigation.

The idea is we always park all the Corrado's together :) Then folks tend to saunter around the stand checking out each other cars, having a chat, etc then you can wonder off and go enjoy the event for the day.

I've previously had in a couple of Corrado's, the Infinity Basslink. Nice and easy to install, reasonably compact so you don't lose your whole boot, and really helps bring the sound alive without having some ridiculous McDonalds carpark type sub thumping away :)
-
Does sound very battery like. When was the last time you ran the car? Out of curiosity, you could try turning the key to the starting / cranking position then try waggling the key a bit - if the ignition switch is duff, that movement might make it suddenly start then at least you'll know.

As far as I'm concerned, CCGB members are welcome to events even if they don't have their Corrado's on the road :) Not sure I'll have mine on the road either by then so you won't be alone in a non-Corrado! Great to see some early enthusiasm folks for this. Eric put a substantial amount of time and effort into organising this, and did agonise over the pricing situation as we appreciate it's not cheap - but I have to say, having been to RIAT a few times, it's more than worth the cost as you see some awesome planes :) I went last year and it did get CRAZY busy as it's a huge show. We got there mega early (I think for about 8am) which was excellent as we just drove in and got parked with very little trouble BUT the show didn't open for quite a while so we had to stand around in a very substantial queue. This however won't be a problem for us as it looks as though they're letting us into the actual show so we get a spot inside the event - so hopefully everyone will be up for the early start!

Welcome to the forum. Don't see many VR6's in white - looks great :) How did it break down? Timing chains - well, if you want to give it a go yourself, there is a comprehensive wiki article written by a good friend of mine here. But it's pretty terrifying! http://wiki.the-corrado.net/vr6_clutch_and_timing_chains_replacement_part_1.html Alternatively in a garage it'll be expensive as you can see it's pretty involved - don't just go to any old garage, but try take it to a VW specialist, e.g. Stealth Racing. I think it'll be in the region of a thousand pounds unfortunately. Oil pressure bulb flashing without the engine started and just on the ignition is normal. So don't worry about that :)

Interestingly just had my first instance of the 502 error..

Ah yes.. My mistake! :)
