  1. Am I right in thinking you had the engine "fully rebuilt" at that price? I am considering that now... buying a second 2.9 VR lump and getting it fully rebuilt, having the new gearbox (6-speed, with LSD, billet flywheel and paddle clutch) fitted to it at the same time, then a simple replace job and sell the old engine/gearboxes on to recoop(sp) some costs. As I still have my old car parked outside, which I'm selling this month hopefully, I should have the money to do that I think.
  2. On Friday I went to Compomotive to pay my deposit on a new set of wheels... the group buy on here for the new wheels Compomotive are introducing this month... 17" x 8J MO1783 5-spokes. Because of the brake calipers and the coilover height adjusters, I've had to space them out to ET30 instead of the ET35 I was gonna go for. Also I bought a set of 5 Audi TT Competition alloys, 4 satin black with Toyo R888s, and one spare polished one, off dukest when I was down there. They're not the best condition... but I took that into account when buying them... and as they're Track/Winter wheels they'll do fine (obviously I won't run 888s on them in winter, I'll get proper winter tyres) The R888s are worn down to the tread bars so aren't road legal anymore, but they've still got a few track days left in them for sure. Still... can't complain for only £200!
  3. On paper though, the G40 isn't as quick to 62 as a Rado VR... Neither of ours are standard though
  4. I'm intruiged to know this... On another note... my car doesn't seem to have used any oil at all since the end of last week... including the trip down to Compomotive, and back, as well as some "Crowd Pleasing" antics the other night It's neck and neck with my mates Polo G40 up to 80mph though, we both thought I'd be pulling away rather quickly :(
  5. No, it'd be painful... but she's dirty in the way that she probably likes that kinda thing And I'm sure you heard that on good authority?? Like, in The Sun?? Not at all, she may be as innocent as they come... but she's just got that look
  6. Hang on a mo, so biting your cock off is a good thing in your book?!  No, it'd be painful... but she's dirty in the way that she probably likes that kinda thing
  7. Was away at the weekend so watched Quali last night when I got back and just finished watching the race. I do love a bit of rain in F1  I know Vettel is involved in more than the lions share of "incidents" but I think the one involving Button was a bit unfair, it came as unexpected to Seb as it did to Jensen I think. Reubens "300 grand Prix" Barichello showed how even the most experienced drivers can make unfortunate and unavoidable mistakes, the fact Vettel took a Championship contender out of the race, from 2nd position, is what made it seem worse... but lets not forget he wrote off his race as a result of that too
  8. That's not fair... why can't I get to spend a night in a hotel room with Sarah Harding... she's "bite your cock off" dirty
  9. B&Q Queens Road Sheffield. standard Dragon Green M-reg VR6 (private plate I think)
  10. Both us Ben's are paid. Like other Ben said, due to Brembos and coilover strut clearance, we've had to go ET30. I strongly suggest if anyone is at all concernced about clearance that they ring James up and speak to him.
  11. I'd have gone to the main dealer long ago... If the windscreen company refused to pay it I'd have got trading standards and watchdog and all that involved too... ruin the company's reputation if needs be
  12. You sure they did a good job?[/quote:2ws6k8r3] It was bought as a "refurbished" head, but it wasn't refurbished enough, so Billcor got it refurbed again, and I've got the receipt for the work
  13. It has been doing yes... 3 litres in 700 miles Wow, that's a huge amount and it makes me think there is something really wrong that no oil is going to sort out It only seems to burn blue smoke when the engine is cold, and then it's often fine once up to temp. A couple of people I know had similar problems and the engine stopped using oil when they put in *W-50. I think it is a combination of things causing it though... overfuelling and perhaps piston rings. (It's got a refurbished head on though so it's not the valve stem seals)
  14. Jim - bought the Xbox 360 off him. He then arranged with Kip & Butterfly (who were going down that way) for them to bring it back up to Sheffield for me. Thanks to them all :)
  15. well i know one is 5 mins away from the manc airport, know the other one is in leeds  depends if they have sold by then etc[/quote:5wuaq3rn] Oh you got a couple lined up to look at
  16. It has been doing yes... 3 litres in 700 miles
  17. yeah im hoping to get there for then, we are picking up a new car for my mrs from manchester or leeds after or before, hopefully after we have been compomotive[/quote:1tocbjq4] "Manchester or Leeds" is quite specific
  18. Is there any particular one you'd recommend?
  19. Guy, Would you say 10W-50 or 15W-50 would be better for a slightly (blue) smokey engine than using 10W-40?
  20. what time wil you be getting to the factory mate?[/quote:weicub0d] Thinking shortly after 11am, traffic dependant
  21. Seeing as though a Corrado VR6 was one of TWO cars I said I always wanted... I guess I'd swap for the other car... which is this: http://www.fantasycars.com/derek/cars/i ... /gtr_4.jpg Nissan Skyline R34 GTR V-Spec, in Bayside Blue I'd also love to have the following cars, but not quite like the C or R34 - Audi RS6 Avant http://www.wallno1.com/data/media/793/2 ... %20006.jpg - Mercedes C63 AMG (quickest I've ever driven, and been driven, in a car) http://www.zcars.com.au/images/c63-amg-estate.jpg - Porsche 911 (993 GT) http://8000vueltas.com/wp-content/uploa ... rasera.jpg - BMW M5 (E39) http://image.europeancarweb.com/f/99677 ... e_view.jpg - Holden HSV Maloo R8 (E Series) [aka Vauxhall VXR8 ute] http://www.privatefleet.com.au/images/u ... o%20R8.jpg Not sure why, but I really really like the idea of high-performance estate cars lol... wish you could get an E39 M5 estate tbh
  22. If he'd just hit you... and not too hard either... If it was me in that situation, I'd get all his details etc, then I'd consider taking the money... but I'd get a quote from a main repair centre first... get them to pay that... then I'd go to another bodyshop my friend owns and pay a lot less for the repairs, keep the rest on top. If my car went into another one though, there's more than just the two parties involved, so I'd take it through insurance. Also if it was a bigger crash, where there is potential for the car to be written off, or potential for injury, then go through insurance too. Don't think you'd get compensation if you didn't go through insurance
