Just discovered today that the alloys that are on my car are infact O.Z. Pretty chuffed with myself. Never noticed the OZ printed on the back of one of the spokes before. Must pay more attention. Also the letters AS-7 (or something like that). I'm guessing thats what model they are?? Timo.

  Blimey. Think I might put it back on my Dad's g60 before it comes out of hibernation in April! T.

Dont have that kind of money man!! Would love to be able to afford that but I cant  T.

Oh I dont know like........ We are really talking about the number left in one piece in the country.......... so that'll be a no! :) T.

Dont know about 16v but my VR has two rubber supports on the back box, one at the front and one at the back. Its probably banging on the rear axle. Thats what mine did after I lowered it and due to one of the hangers being goosed. T.

Bit risky though? Dont fancy sending someone that kind of money and praying I get something in return. You not want to sell me yours? (joke!) T.

Dont take the entire front end off!!!!!!! No need. Its not difficult, just a bit fiddely. One thing I did was undo the front engine mount and jack up the engine, gives a little more room in there and makes getting the rad out a bit easier. It is a tight fit though but it can be done. It took me just over an hour to do it. I think battery out first, undo the coolant pipes, take out the lights (lets you see alot better), remove the plastic grill, then undo the radiator/fan bolts. Then slide out the fan unit. (its worse to get out than the radiator!!) then out comes the rad. Easy as that. Think there is a proper right up somewhere on the forum, have a search and you might find it. Its worth gettting a new temp sensor for the radiator too and mine was fecked!! almost fell apart trying to unscrew it from the rad. Dont forget some G12+ coolant!! T.

scary stuff!!! really need to start saving then. No more drinking for me. Wish I had thought that before last night. Christ my head was sore this morning!!! Got a cup of tea now so the crisis is over and all is well! T.

Are the vortech kits 2.5k fitted or is that just them by themselves? Ta T.

8 and going strong (NOT!!!) quite interesting though, I must admit I thought there was a few more on this forum. Maybe people haven't noticed this thread yet! Banana Man, Are you finding G60 nugget yellow or valvers? ALways have a wee look now and then. T.

sounds good to me! I'll think about it :) T.

MMMmmmm sounds interesting mate. Get saving, look forward to hearing about this in the future!! It a nice grey g60 you have there, i've always like that colour. I went to look at one the same as that when my Dad and I were on the look out for a g60. It said in the advert it was mint! It was nothing of the sort, was rather annoyed and had travelled quite a few miles to see it too. T.

I've managed to balls up my chance of owning a Corrado...
Timo. replied to Pat_McCrotch's topic in General Car Chat
Nelson I thought you said you couldn't afford having a Corrado and a cheap runaround? then you go and spend 14.5k on a seat!! Diesel is the way forward, specially with a bit of tuning. Think I might switch to the old oil burners next time. T. -
yeah but you know the old saying, 'there's no replacement for displacement'. UK CTR 220bhp!!! Thought they were ~200bhp last time I heard. Who cares anyway! Would be a good race, down to driver skills me think! :) T.

Its the 1.3 litre GT. Surprisingly fast so it is and fuel comsumption is excellent. Might get around to doing it at some point when I have the time and I'm feeling brave. Oh and when it warms up a bit!! T.

oh good, I read a thread on here about it. Seemed to have a good rep. What you doing to J-DUB then? T.

Got one of these through the post this morning of ebay. Went for a wee test! Doesn't like traffic lights very much, picks it up far away and not even in the line of sight. It like a disco when it goes off, bleeping and flashing like a wee mad thing. Went onto the bypass and it went nuts again, one of those safety camera vans was driving along in the opposite direction. Damn thing must have smelt it unless some of its devices when still turned on. Thought it was quite funny, haven't seen one of those vans around my area for ages. The minute I get a radar detector one drives past me! Weird!! Let the games begin (NOT!! must not be caught for speeding, must keep clean license!) Timo.

oh dear!! yeah but it acceleration at that speed I'm talking about not top speed.

castrol SMX-c or something like that. My halfords dont have the redline stuff and I wasn't too bothered about putting that in. wee bit more expensive too. Was going to put slick 50 treatment in too but that stuff 16 bucks. I thought some new semi decent stuff should be fine, there's nothing wrong with the box and I never have any trouble with it. T.
-
yeah but it only my £100 polo we're talking about. Still I would be upset if it died on me  . I've grown to love that wee car, its great!! T.

must run out of puff near the top end, say over a ton? Thats when the old VR comes to life :) T>

mine moves when it (misses a beat) when idling, revs dont visually drop on the rev counter but you can feel it. Its the nature of the beast. Does the noise sort of sound like a woof, woof, swirly kinda noise. (not like a dog obviously) Has it always made this noise or is it something new? Do it go alright, no performance problems?? Timo.

Just replaced the oil in the gearbox. Old stuff wasn't too bad. It only took about 1.6 litres to fill it. Is that about right? It was on a flat drive and I filled it up till it poured out of the hole. Gear change is very precise and postive now. Was pretty good anyway, but it'll be interesting when the car is cold in the morning. It used to whine a little when really cold so hopefully that'll cure that, not that it whined for very long mind. T.
