Lockerbie?? 8) Shame I'm off to Belfast tomorrow otherwise I could have done some Corrado spotting  T.

It must be a sad day mate. I rather have my arm chopped off, than give up the Corrado. I'm a tad bit obsessed, thats what my girlfriend keeps telling me! T.

doubt it. Sounds like you should be reporting them to the Police! :) T.

Quite aware of that, thanks! I was just explaining the posts he found to do with the rsr outlet has nothing to do with exhaust manifolds. T.
-
Respect!!! Purchasing tomorrow me thinks! 8) T.
-
The rsr outlet is a metal replacement pipe that goes on the outlet of the supercharger to replace the plastic silencer box thats there as standard. It is prone to leaking boost. Hence the rsr outlet. It has nothing to do with exhaust outlets. T.

Drill them!!!! OR hammer in the (size above) alley key into the bolt. Maybe even a few sizes bigger. Actually those spline keys are better for the job. Been were you are so many times before. WD40 can only do so much for 12 years of rust! Timo.

These pistons are for ornaments too!! They're 2 g60 pistons I bought off ebay for a £1. Nothing wrong with them. They came from a blown engine. The other 2 got melted. Bought them as part of my Dad's birthday. Bit of nostalgia!! Mind you, I expected to pay a bit more than a £1 so I've had to buy other stuff too! T.

Gutted. Deepest sympathies to all partys' concerned. I receive large quantities of abuse about my so callled 'granny driving' from some of my closest friends, (who I might add go through cars like it was going out of fashion and have had more than a few crashes). When reading stories like this, it reminds me exactly why I am so careful generally. Yes, I have my moments but I'm not a risk taker and consider ever action very carefully. I too have had a big one, not my fault, and fortunately managed to walk away after kicking to door open cos it was jammed shut. I hit the passenger side of a car that had pulled out of a farm entarnce. The woman and her two youngs sons were in the car. One of the sons often sat in the front but on this fortunate day had not. However if he had been, you can only imagine what would have been. That was my wake up call and what makes me such a careful driver today. As a Policeman once said to me after stopping me for slightly speeding  :- "Screw the head on, eh!!" Wise words........... Simon

MMMMmmmmm....... I like the coke idea for the minute. Might give that a shot tomorrow. Think there's some metal polish around somewhere. T.
-
How do you clean up an old piston?? I want it shining and good enough to use as a mirror!! I've got 1 in coca cola at the minute to see what that'll do. Any other good ideas? cheers T.
-
Cool. Might PM Mike when I get round to fitting them. Cheers Kev Timo.

Cheers Guys. I'll make sure that - 8N0615301A are the right ones (i.e. are used on the 4motion golf.) I have the 288 calipers as you know and I just got the carriers from a 4motion golf. Wont have these brakes on till the VR comes out of the garage in 6 months time or so. Sssshhhhh!!! Its sleeping. P.S. what kind of washers?? Is it a sort of trial and error fitment to find out the thickness required?? cheers chaps Simon

No, it can be done without taking the front end off. Its fiddly and a bit time comsuming but thats how I did it! Its not hard though!! T.
