    VR6 Oil Leak

COming from the front of the engine?? If so, my money is on the oil cooler seals! T.
  2. Here, here!!! Its just damn right cheeky asking for more money. I'd rather give the cash to this site. The CCGB has given me sweet F A, whereas this site has saved me hundreds, if not, thousands of pounds. T.
  3. I got the renewal notice through the other month. Still haven't sent the money and dont think'll i'll bother. Only reason I got it was to get discount at the stealers. They give me substantial discount anyway, equal to trade so I dont see the point in it even though its only £7.50 (whoopee) What happened to the £15 bucks I put in last year?? T.
  4. The aux pump runs whenever the ignition is turned on, whether the engine is running or not. Comes on with the fans too. Dont worry its fine!! T.
  5. It'll look the mutts nuts though :) T.
  6. ah ha!! Been wondering what they were for ages. How much are they? Cheers T.
  7. It is a dummy plug just to keep the wiring of the car tidy. American VRs had a heating element there (I think), something for cold starts etc. Dont worry about it, alll UK vrs have this. Whats a power rohr by the way?? Timo.
  8. The search is you friend! :) Loads of threads on 16v G60 and the parts you need. T.

    288mm brakes

  Total bargain!!! Well done... T.
  10. You guys kill me, we have a totally different meaning for the word 'fag' over here and you usually wouldn't use it unless you wanted to fight. You will find 3 wires on the cigarette lighter, one red & gray stripe which is power, one brown which is ground and the last is gray & blue stripe which is the dash lights. The lighter is the only item on this circuit so you will probably be fine hard wiring the phone as there is little chance of shorting anything out. I try to use battery power & a extra fuse for most electrical appliances to reduce the load on the cars wiring system. Cheers, Dennis We use that same word too for insulting some people who are inclined to....... drive up one way streets in the wrong direction  (No offence intended to anyone!!) T.
  11. It took ages to find this one. 99% off them are autos!!! :pukeright: And not too many are black either, which is a must!! T.
  12. We used to have a V70 T5 too. It got sold when the parents split which was a little sad. It was a beast of a car and went like a rocket. This type R takes all of its performance and does away with all the bad things that the T5 suffered from:- Unbelievable bad torque steer coupled with no traction! If this gets chipped, (which will happen if I have anything to do with it!) it will kick out 310bhp!! T.
  13. bored and this dont go in the same sentence! EVER!!! Its not mine anyway, my dad just bought it for some additional fun to go along with our growing fleet of fast cars. We now own 5 cars between two people. Not bad going I say. More to come in the future. T.
  14. boxy!!! What a scandal-less thing to say Joe! Much prefer the old V70 shape than the new. T.
  15. What do you think of this then??? 8) T.

    288mm brakes

I find the ABS kicks in rather alot more now, and that's on dry roads!! :) T.
  17. Big up to bigpants baby for my part. No problems at all. Cheers Timo.
  18. they tend to give intermittent failure when they are on there way out. Change it.... T.

    288mm brakes

well worth it. Did that mod about 3 months ago on my vr6. Never looked back. What a difference!! T.
  20. Tight isn't the word!! Make sure you spray wd40 or equivalent on the pulley bolts as I had alot of trouble getting one of them off. T.
  21. undo front and rear engine mounts, slacken the gearbox one a bit. Then jack up the engine. (put a nice bit of old carpet on the jack so you dont scratch the engine at the bottom). Keep jacking until you can get at the pump pulley and get stuck in. You have to jack the engine pretty high!! Its not a difficult job. oh you need a suitable bolt to screw into the auxilary belt tensioner to slacken of the belt. 8mm if I remember correctly. Let me know if you need more detail. Timo.
  22. I'm half way through this at the minute, currently waiting on the rear bearings coming. The rear of the car is sticking up in the air, with one wheels/disc/caliper/carrier off and the other side intacted. Those ABS cages are a twat!! managed to get it off though, fecked the inner bearing trying to hammer it out hence why I'm waiting on new ones coming! Note to self:- Dont be so tight!! Must be the scottish influence :) T.

    Timo's Beast

Thanks oh knowledgeable ones!!! I've hit rather a few local canyons (pot holes) and not once has it bent the wheel or even knocked it out of balance. Must be well made, unlike other OZ wheels I've had!! T.

    Rear Bearings

Are all the rear bearings on all the Corrados the same?? Need some to go with the new discs I bought. Thought I could get away without replacing them but I've just wrecked the seal trying to get the inner bearing out of the old disc. just found these on gsf, are they the right ones?? 41311K WHEEL BEARING KIT-REAR CO 9/88 > 6.75 cheers Timo.
