haha yea my mesh box was covered in leaves, also suprised to see no filter element there? wondered why i had stupid amounts of bits and dust comming through the blowers all the time, all sorted now though..
-
in theory your right its easy but most of the time it never is because of siezed bolts, all its gona take is for one of them bolts to shear/round off and that simple 30 minute job turns into a headach,

looking at the rust scabing, {on the door?} from my experiance with my rust bubbling, theres deffinatly a hole underneith that! so bare that in mind if you do decide to purchase it, might be cheaper to find a rust free door and have it sprayed to match.atleast it has 12months mot...

mine was going in that area but a little to the left but no where near as bad as yours, seems like i got it just in time, aww edit, no it didnt lol thought it was in a different place, lol where you have that little bubble to the left of the vw badge, mine also had that which turned into a 10p hole also along the lower edge thats where i had slight surface rust comming through which sanded out a treat.

yea hopeing to, have no idea what time though i'll give you a text if ya like when i go down, need to have a major clear up and make some shelves aswell!
-
i realy hope so, just hope the temp doesnt effect it to much when im spraying with the colder weather, going to borrow a red rad electric workshop heater from my old work so its going to be realy warm and cozzy in there ;)
-
haha you know i still got my old exhaust :) i recon for a day or 3 you should try it lol your have to have a blast in mine, the miltek with decat is perfect ish, its perfect in the sense that you dont look like a chav when you put ya foot down and sounds sweet when your cruzing, on idle though doesnt realy sound much, but the sound on idle from the old exhaust was bad ass! just abit loud on full throttle, cant have it all i guess ;)

yea my tailgate has rust but not there, theres a past of rust a few inchs beneath the number plate light, and thestuds which hold the number plate surround has failed aswell so need to sort that out, im basicaly going to be over hauling the tailgate before thats on the car, i might try and smooth out the wiper hole properly but well see, decided to tidey up the inside and use the left over gravitex, seeing as you cant see it, i didnt go mad with the prep,it didnt turn out amazing but its ok for what it is,one of the benefits of gravitex is sound deadening, so its perfect for here, also removed the drivers rear quarter window as iv now decided to just spray the shell in one without blending the clear coat into the existing clear, i didnt want to find that i cant get the blend to look right and end up doing the lot anyway! so f-it do the lot to start with! supprisingly no rust!! even small things takes time!, like this door latch! had a hard paint line and had rust comming through! went abit loopy the other day and ripped the paint off me bonnet! it was my first real spray peice, and at the time of fixing the ring repair i didnt know about the "guide coat " technique when sanding, so as a result at the right angle you could see slight waves, it wasnt bad but i knew it was there! and i know i can do better . ran out of of primer :( still needs another 3-4 coats then guidecoat and sanding! then colour and clear! aww santa came early at this shed :) a little xmas pressy to myself hehe

yea that price is a bargain, when i first got mine the previous owner mentioned that i should replace it {tbh the rad was the least of my worrys}, but its been fine apart from the small leak on the elbow join, after seeing yours go like that i think perventative maintenance is the way to go!!, oh yea that airbox!! replaced it for the c's cone filter, wow with the windows down its made my little daily vr sound bad ass on the throttle !! although im now paying for it petrol wise :( sounds similar to my corrado except on the corrado when idle and cruzeing i still get abit of vr purrrr purr which is down to the exhaust..

i can imagine guernsey to be a realy nice place to visit on holiday especialy moored up in a marina :) yea in the vale by the golf course theres been 2 corrados sat on the same drive for years which dont seem to get driven, a dark blue one which has a bodykit of some sort and a red one which looks like a 16v , altogether though think there must be atleast 10-15 corrados over here, nice work rick, atleast after next week you shouldnt realy have anything else to do engine/running wise, sourced a door yet? how does that rad fit? straight swap?
-
tbh i think the corrado isnt realy a sleeper, imo it actual looks like it should be a fairly quick car, slim, sleek and aero dymanic are just what you want for a sporty car and the C has just that, now a standard looking mk2 golf driver with a vr6 power plant is what idd call a sleeper ;)

Jack and axle stands - any recommendations?
VW_OwneR_85 replied to Portent's topic in General Car Chat
i brought this, it can be a little hard to jack up but it is very very low!! perfect for the lowerd car and for what you want it for, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ALUMINIUM-TROLLEY-JACK-RACE-CAR-CTJ1250A-7621800-CLARKE-/120659786575?pt=UK_Lifting_Moving_Equipment&hash=item1c17e23b4f -
it does say in the title black vr6 ;) bit of a give away lol
-
looks nice! hope your going to the badge holes welded and smoothed though.
-
nice work there, your new wheels should compliment it quite well ;) i aslo need to replace the grill rubbers as im missing atleast 2 , the part number 535 853 393? how many did you need? cheers
-
now that photo shoot is a blady good idea!! only problem is your the only person i know with a corrado :( and im not putting an add in the local paper lol
-
your welcome, it was surprising how clean the underside was, when its on the ramps you got to get a shot of it, tbh once the little niggles are sorted this car will be an absolute beaut! its the pefect base car, just wish mine was like this one when i brought it, yea cant wait to get a corrado convoy going ;)
-
lol at this rate the corrado is literaly dieing at a daily rate, heres your engine http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-VR6-ENGINE-BREAKING-CORRADOS-CALL-07968619952-/330647883854?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4cfc26504e
-
seriously? you would have broken this car for its engine? think there should be an un written rule about breaking corrados for spares! no rust NO break! theres a guy on here breaking one because of abit lacquer peel and the clutch is gone,i guess nobody likes to put effort in these days.the throw away generation. anyway shes a beaut rick! and sounds sick! oh yea its chris btw! glad to hear your not breaking it because of the rad ;)
-
so basicaly all you buy is a usb cable and then download the vagcom software from ross-tech for free?, my friend has vagcom and programmed my old golf keys or me, but its a pita every time i wanna scan faults on my corrado..
-
that is cheap, imo at that price i would expect to have more things wrong with it...
-
check battery connections are tight?
