its another option....not trying to argue, the dinitrol stuff is highly regarded for rust prevention http://www.frost.co.uk/productList.asp?catID=63 i use s335 on external stuff
-
theres dinitrol products, frost restoration sells it.....i find it better than waxoil, it wont jet wash off etc

your supposed to clean em up with carb cleaner before fitting...theyre oiled up for storage ...prob take a while to burn off
-
yeah engines are the same...golfs had a rod chage gearbox though
-
you may find your distributer is siezed in the block....it took a little fight with some grips to make mine come out yes you can mark it and try to line it up as before..but it would be very wise to set the timing with a strobe light those clifford virtual keys are troublesome...if you get any more trouble id bypass it to see if its that
-
you see heads for £50 on ebay...then consider new valve guides if you want to keep the car a while
-
it deffo sorted me out...sinse i do alot of short journeys and then leave it standing
-
theyre fine, ive never had a issue with them..good price too compared to vag
-
probably just a badge on a standard one
-
okay ive got one! it was a optioned up gti..8v,16v and g60s were avail and the proper name is an "edition one" although they are often called wolfsburg edition as thats whats on the wing badge they mostly came in dark burgundy pearl and met black, although there are few around in other colors..not sure if theyre genuine? differances on the g60 are... bonded screen for strength, higher 4x4 style tunnel and beefed up chassis legs, extra sound deadening, thicker carpet, all blue interior with electric recaro seats( not on 8v/16v versions) and leather gearstick/wheel/handbrake, bbs RM wheels, ABS 280mm brakes, siglachrome glass on the rear end ,thicker ARB, .....erm g60 arches that are slightly wider , and a ed1 bonnet sticker and wing badges instead of repeaters all were lhd ....if you have any questions ask, ive got a few pics too if you need to know anything

dcuk....i uprated the alt on my golf from 65a to 90a, it does indeed charge the battery quicker! i found that leaving the car standing and short journeys would result in a flat battery even with the bigger battery, but now the 90a charges it up enough on my short journeys to keep me going
-
ive noticed if i fit the weight that goes on the gear linkage, its awfully close to some wiring. maybe get a mate to check while you move the gears and make sure its not tugging the wiring harness
-
i think their termials only fit thier blocks...there wasnt a direct match for the vw terminal from what i remember if it doesnt mean having the car off road...id have a pop at getting the terminals out and re using em
-
come to mention it...if you whack the original termials with a tiny jeweler screwdriver they pull out easy enough that way it costs you a blob of solder and youve probably got some wire laying around
