  1. To be fair, mine isn't bad considering how much extra bhp it added, it all comes down to what you can tolerate as comfortable. I get 28mpg on a 70mph steady run. I notice that you have your car really low, like big wheels and so I'm guessing you have a high tolerance to the raw feeling.... I actually really like how the standard corrado drives, it just looks crap so I go as low as I dare before I start losing fillings ;) The charger is very drivable, no stalling like some report and smoother than silk idle. I just feel a bit embarrassed sitting in traffic in a whistling car! I think the V3 charger you have is probably quieter?
  2. We'll see, when in in the mood for ragging about then the charger is ace, but when I'm not, it is quite intrusive. Not to mention the increased insurance and fuel bills ;)
  3. Once you start chasing BHP you end up focusing on power rather than making a nice car to drive and ultimately as drivable as the charger kit is....I prefer a big NA motor. Will see, no rush yet.
  4. OK, I know this might sound crazy but I'm considering selling the charger and going back to NA The reason being that the car is really nice now and pretty much my vision of OEM+ but the charger, with all its noise and extra ooomph just seems like I've gone to far to me.....it also makes me want to tune it more Tempted to take it off, stick some refurbed solitudes on and enjoy it for what it was meant to be.
  5. Well I think we scored the car. 1998 728i Sport, all the crazy bmw toys, 153K on the clock and 9 months MOT £500 insane!
  6. Good tip on Gumtree and the auctions, just checked the web and there is a massive auction house near me! Cheers for that :)
  7. Haha trust E-Gay T to lower the tone :) Seriously though I appreciate the help but we have a team of four people scouring autotrader and eBay. My post is the try and find options that are not already in the usual places
  8. Hi EJ, cheers but please dont post ebay links as it will just fill the thread up. Me and the team are all over ebay already!
  9. UPDATE: - I have indeed entered a car now and we have a blog running here http://atomhawk.wordpress.com Please take a look, comment and take the **** :) we need all the support we can get! I am doing a charity rally from here to France next year http://www.specialeffect.org.uk/twin-town Rules are that car must cost no more than £500! (this should be fun) Will be looking for sponsorship later next year and hoping to raise £5000+ but for now we're looking for a quick car (over 150bhp), to start prepping over winter. It can look a total state, we just want a base to build on. Ideally with MOT. Anyone have a suitable car we can have for £500?
  10. Lucky boy! You've got a busy winter ahead. Really looking forward to seeing the car mate!
  11. Hi Dave, I have one and haven't gotten around to fitting and returning the standard one...... Planning to do the upgrade over winter but will send back for sure
  12. Just had my golf (MK7 GT) remapped from 150bhp to 180bhp and 400Nm........ the torque is brutal. The SC Vr6 doesn't get going until 4000 rpm by which point the Golf would have a good headstart. Only chance to catch is if you have a long stretch but in most day to day traffic scenarios, high power TDI is a winner. On a stretch though, it runs out of puff at about 90 mph where as the SC VR6 is just getting started :)
  13. The jacking point on the sill is crap, the tyre fitters near me used that point on mine and bent the sill....feckers
  14. Jesus you guys are paying a lot of money for services down south! Last service on mine was done at MB Motorsport, £50 for the MOT and £30 for the labour to change the oil, filter and plugs that I supplied. Stamp in the book and give the car a visual inspection.
  15. I know you want them collecting mate but I would take them if you are happy for me to arrange the courier and you just get some card to shield the faces and bind them together in pairs. Cling film is really good for this (get a big cheap role and if you use enough it holds two wheels together very well, bind them face to face with lots of card between them. If you are game for that then I'll take em
  16. Decided against this one last night, love the look but last time I had 17s on a corrado, the ride was very harsh in combo with the KWs
  17. Well I was going to go a bit higher for an already partially prepped car. Basically breaking the rules a little..... Reasoning was £500 for car and then buy the mods.....that just happened to already be on the car ;)
  18. Gutted, I was about to ask about the A3 as I've entered a charity rally in May and need a fast, cheap car. Ah well!
  19. Good stuff mate, is it staying in the forum? Did you also sell you a3 yet?
  20. Haha man, that is just egging me on now ;)
  21. I actually wrote a PM and then realised he is south of London, no way I am driving 600 miles round trip to collect them! GLWS though, would have been great on my car :)
  22. Aaaaaaaarrrrrrrgghhhhh must.......resist.....
  23. Must.....resist.....must.....resist......can't hold it....
