    VR6 cylinder head

I've got one that would be a perfect fit for you - I bought it used, then got it vapour-blasted so it looks pristine. After that I had the inevitable coolant corrosion pits welded and then got it skimmed on both the head surface and the thermostat mounting flange for peace of mind. I also got all the valves and springs ultrasonically cleaned to remove every trace of carbon. Looks mint and cost a small fortune but I never fitted it due to the chassis rotting away before I could do any engine work :( My loss is your gain etc...£200 and it's yours. I'll grab some pics in a minute. Nick
  2. Highly-polished stainless VR6 engine cover Up for sale is my polished stainless VR6 engine cover. Custom made and polished to a near mirror-finish - exactly as they should have come from the factory! This is the ideal way to get rid of your dodgy stained engine plastics for good - and as a custom piece you're never likely to see another :) Still polished to a high shine but there are a few small surface scratches which so'be tried to highlight in the second photo. Price includes UK p&p, but I will ship internationally at cost. PM with any questions, or in the unlikely event that Panjo fails to work properly ;) List Date: 6/22/2015 For more info, click here to view the original listing: Highly-polished stainless VR6 engine cover -------------------------------------- SOLD --------------------------------------
  3. Lovely, PM me your details :thumbleft:
  4. Briefly sat behind a red G60 heading south on the M1 earlier. H* ENH, with a Vindis VW sticker on the back so probably a Bedford local. Could well have been the same one I saw last week...
  5. Could do with this out of the way. £40 posted.
  6. Spotted a red Corrado stuck in traffic entering Bedford yesterday. Exchanged waves even though I was in the R32...
  7. If it has cruise control it's a straight fit into the Corrado.
  8. Updated first post: would still like some of these, but in 17" as winters for my new R32, as 16s won't go over the brakes. Hoping someone's got a set they'd be willing to let go, 17s are too big for the Corrado anyway ;)
  9. Looking for a pair of front seat-belt buckles (part numbers 535 857 755/535 857 756) including the hardware to fit them to the seats. Didn't realise that they were Corrado-specific until I sold the seats with them still attached... Thanks Stone
  10. Group Buy (aftermarket) headlight switch Headlight switch from a group buy on here a couple of years ago. Works perfectly, still as-new condition. Much better design than OEM and as an added bonus it won't set your loom on fire! Free UK postage. 11. Audioscape door pods (late style) with Rainbow Audio speakers Here's a pair of Audioscape door pods - the rarer kind to fit a late style interior (with window switches in the pods). I'll throw in a pair of OEM window switches. They're in decent condition - the flocking could use some attention inside the driver's side pocket and there are a couple of slight marks on the vinyl but they're overall very presentable and there's nothing really visible when they're fitted. The mounting points on the back have been repaired as the wood tends to split (design issue) - again, not visible once fitted. They come with a boxed Rainbow SLX 265 Deluxe component speaker system comprising 6.5" woofers and 20mm silk dome tweeters: for manufacturer's details see http://www.rainbowcaraudio.com/slx265deluxe.html . The woofers come fitted into the pods already, the tweeters and crossovers are ready to fit into the stock locations on the dash. I've added a pair of (broken) stock speakers and some connectors for them snipped from the loom to allow a truly plug-and-play setup. Also included are a matching set of Rainbow grilles, the installation manual and a sticker to let everyone know what great speakers you have :-) These really make a fantastic difference over the stock audio quality - I was originally planning to add a sub but the bass reproduction is good enough at reasonable volumes that I never saw the need. I'm sure they won't hang around! Price: ?265 posted or ?250 collected (M1 J9). Some buyers have been having issues with Panjo recently - if you have any problems just PM me and I'll sort it out. Any other questions please ask. 12. Curious, I've had about 50/50 success/frustration so far and I don't think I've done anything different to you. Will keep an eye on things :)
  13. Very curious as to what you think you've found to make Panjo work. I'm fully opted in and people are still struggling...
  14. Plus you can click on the numbers in the image and it'll zoom straight to the part number you wanted. Nice find! Stone
  15. Was going from RW1's excellent explanation here: (link). Looks to me like all VR's should have EDL, plus any other cars that have six valve ports on the ABS pump. If you fit a 'D' model ECU to these then you'll get all the standard ABS features but no EDL. I think. Stone
  16. Not mentioned in that list (which is otherwise pretty comprehensive) is that the worst spots of all for rust are the corners of the front wheel arches where they meet the A-pillar. Holes here are becoming fairly ubiquitous and will allow water to run along the chassis rails and rot the floorpan from the inside out. The bottoms of the doors also rust due to the design of the window seals (water runs freely down the window and drains from holes in the bottom of the door - which are usually rusty!) but this isn't a big deal as it should run off the sill. Loose or peeling underseal isn't necessarily a bad sign but be sure to probe around if there are loose edges - they're not the youngest cars and almost all will have some rust somewhere. Sadly a bent chassis rail or floor pan from incorrect jacking is extremely common so make sure the sills are straight and the weld lines haven't split apart. If this has happened under no circumstance use the emergency wind-up 'widowmaker' jack as it will make things much worse! The top is supposed to clip over the welded seam but will just smash it flat if it's starting to swell. Stone
  17. Hi Roger, Short answer is, yes, these are ABS ECUs. VW realised that they could do something clever in cars equipped with an ABS system - since the ECU is constantly monitoring the rotation speed of all four wheels to detect when one is skidding during braking, they can also tell if wheelspin is occurring during acceleration. In the Corrado system, when you're doing under 25mph the system checks to see if one front wheel is spinning much faster than the other - this indicates that the wheel is slipping (losing traction) and the diff is wasting engine power in spinning that wheel which could be being better used to apply torque to the other. If this happens the ECU tells the ABS pump to apply the brake on that single wheel - this slows its rotation, which means that since torque is conserved in an open diff the other wheel receives more torque, getting the power down more effectively. It's quite a primitive form of traction control but significantly cheaper than fitting a limited-slip diff as standard! Not all Corrados had this feature, so there are two part numbers: suffix D (without EDL) and suffix E (with EDL). I know of no reason the two should need different sensors or looms - there's only one loom part number listed in ETKA - so my guess is that they're interchangeable, but that is a guess. Late Corrados definitely came with EDL but I don't know when they changed over Stone
  18. New starter motor cured the R32 so now it's just a persistent emissions light that needs sorting. At least it always starts now! Anyway, I pulled up the Corrado's carpet after stripping the interior and started finding some of the bad bits... The're's a weak spot all the way around this end of the seat rail - including some big holes all the way through to fresh air! Glad I didn't crash it now, there's not much holding the seat rails on :( Stone
  19. Sorry, can't answer that one - there's no chassis number split in ETKA so although they should all be the same it's not for definite. Best bet is to remove the trim panel under the passenger's side of the dash and have a look, it's only a few screws. The ABS controller will be mounted on the outside (against the wing) by three bolts - but you will only need to remove it to check the part number of the sticker's on the back like one of these! Or you could find out over Vag-com if you have a cable. Stone
  20. Thanks - I''ll box it up. Any preference as to which one you get?
  21. ABS controller (with electronic difflock) - 2 available ABS control unit for a 1995 VR6 (with electronic difflock - part number 1H0 907 379 E). 2 available - for some reason one has the sticker on the front and one has it on the back, but they've been like that from factory! Both tested and working. ?25 posted per unit.
