Always been a fan of the 911 even considered buying a 968CS, then realised the corrado was probably better! thought about selling all my cars and bike to get a 964 but then saw sense and realised that all the affordable ones just aren't fast enough and all the fast ones are massively over priced and thus out of the reach of the normal man. -
i got all red crystals on mine, still not sure if I like them or not, some days I do, other days I hate them.
-
not as bad as the 17" porsche fitment ones I have in my shed now. actually, no, those were £150. i think the 301's i sold you were £300. in a proper state though weren't they!
-
i still cannot believe how well you have refurished those wheels. you've done exactly what I was going to do with them, and I alwost regret selling them! dare I tell you what I paid for them!!!! £150!!! LMAO!

Jim, I'll hold you to that offer! OSV, already did that, but just put too many mods on it, and rushed the build so I wasn't happy with it. How can a car be "too good for track"? condition wise you mean?
-
hmm, corrado 8v on ebay....and it's purple, possibly burgundy!
-
cheers! got a 140bhp 2.0 8v lump up at my dads actually. it was going in the missus golf country, but it could easily go back in my corrado.... and I suppose I could go full circle and buy my old mk2 shell back for a track car. hmm
-
never liked nor been impressed with the old 1.8 16v, too gutless. rather have a 2.0 8v any day. saying that, never tried a 2.0 16v yeah, decent mk2's pretty hard to find, never liked anything about mk3's, wouldn't even look at one.
-
struggling to find one....
-
or, I could just use my corrado shell to build sensible 4wd daily driver and build a track car out of something else...

Since i put the mk4 up for sale and decided to buy something cheaper, like a mk2 golf I've been having more strange thoughts about buying another corrado instead! i absolutely adored mine when it was a standard 8v, and seeing as a hell of a lot of you on here run them daily they can't be that bad to run on a daily basis can they? only problem is.....would I be able to leave it alone..... mad idea or not? couldn't cope with a 16v, never liked them, or the G60 for that matter. a VR6 would be pointless, and not much chepar than the mk4. so that leads me to another 8v! cheap, but strong, and late everything too. best of the bunch I reckon! thoughts?

Biggerbigben - Golf sold.. another new project!

yeah, he only sold the dog box to go haldex. he was gutted when I bought it off him, then told him you can buy a skoda transfer box and run the haldex off the o2c!! on the strength issue, never seen a TDI box inside, but the VR6 gears are a LOT beefier than the gear sets from the lesser models. can't see the TDI's being much different? both have 3.3 FD too don't they? -
i still think they are massively over rated and overpriced wheels. i sold mine to OSV!

Powder coating some parts of my Corrado, what colours ???
PhatVR6 replied to JIMMI's topic in General Car Chat
just be careful with the silvers. they can discolour if they aren't clear coated afterwards. -

because Karls mk2 is half a second slower on the 1/4 since he went from the quaife dog box to an 02M. can't change gear as quick. may sound like nothing, but half a second is a good few car lengths at 110mph. -
in which case, find out who they are, and poke their eyes out.

about as perfect an installtion as you're ever going to see

it has a mixer that bolts directly to the throttle body. Switch with LED's to show the level of gas in the tank Computer (which you can prgramme with a laptop if you have the software filler nozzle tank and braksets vapourizer hoses, pipe, all sorts of other bits and bobs.

it's massive! like a big innertune. can't check if it'll actually fit in a corrado as mine doesn't have a corrado boot lfoor in it! as for fitting, sorry, but it's a no, don't do work on other peoples cars any more. I can show you where it all goes though, that's esy enough, You could fit it in a weekend by yourself easy, but I'd have it checked by a qualifed LPG fitting garage and checked for leaks before using it.

HIC are a discrace. HAd the corrado with them for £260. changed to the 4 motion and they wanted an EXTRA £700!!! even thought the policy was probably 3 months in! They then quoted me £1015 the year after! got it for about £700 with brentacre, which is still too much, but the best I could get. bloody fully comp, what a rip off it is.

My Missus's Golf Coutnry runs on LPG. It's great, full tank for about £16! you can get easily 300 miles out of that. Costs me £60 to do the same in my mk4!! I've got an LPG kit off a VR6 for sale as it happens. came off a Sharan, so would go straight on a corrado VR £300 for the lot.

I still miss my first VW, my old Mk2 VR6. :-( gone, but not forgotten. Still want to build another one. Probably wouldn't drive around in a car looking like that now, but that was 8 years ago and at the time I thought it was mint! (yes, even the sunstrip....[groan])

6 miles each way. all country roads, virtually no traffic, excellent visibilty to use the whole road if you want....and as fast as you dare! still can't catch that nutter in the 330D though, he's unhinged.
