That cabrio is so much nicer than the golf cabrio I just went to look at while picking up spares yesterday. So more refined. Cheers, Redfox.

May I ask what those seats are off? Nice car. Cheers, Redfox.

Renshaw project (probably going to sell / swap)
Redfox replied to 24V Renshaw's topic in Members Gallery
Looks really good Jay, and well sorted. Perfect wheels for yout car. VW should make these today, as it would be a propper car in their line up. Good work. Cheers, Redfox. -
Hi, If for some reason you won't sell these speakers, I'll be a happy buyer number two. Cheers, Redfox.

VW to make a new Corrdo in 2014 August release.
Redfox replied to Redfox's topic in General Car Chat
Both yes and no, because it is a high priority of VW to make their new cars in continuity and recognizable with earlier ones. Cheers, Redfox. -
Adapt the Corrado to be a baby transporter. Streetcred to your baby right from the start ;) Cheers, Redfox.

A question: Those leds are they lighting white, green or orange? I've been to a carshop, and they don't speak about the resistor thing, so is that needed? Cheers, Redfox.

Ordered some new petrol pipes plus fittings, plus new gaskets etc for the injectors now I'll be there anyway. We'll see. So, while waiting, I thought why not look behind the rear lights to see if the body is still sound? So I took them off, and here's what I found: So I just added some wax to protect while I installed a set of extra rear lights I have prepared: Sorry for the bad picture, but light is funny and its' near zero in temp. I'll post better ones asap. They are original lights from VW but I have cleaned them a bit and sprayed them. I just installed orange binker bulbs, but the light is still red. So I think I read somewhere here, that someone put in something else to make the light orange. What was that? Please help, as these are not road legal where I live. Cheers, Allredfox.

Ah, that's smart. I think I am going to have those. Thanks for shareing ;) Cheers, Redfox.

Hmm... Fishy smell of petrol, better take it apart now, so I am off... Cheers, Redfox.

Sorry for asking, but what is that? Cheers, Redfox.

Kadvr6: that is exactly my point. Lewvw: No, I would say I did a lot more. Every single bit was renewed or renovated. I tried to make the max out of it handling wise, and then added some 57 hp. Was okay light and very stiff. Not a fast car, but still enough to outgun a lot of cars in bends or series of bends. Great fun on twisty mountain roads. I painted it myself in A Golf IV colour called Tropical pearl. It's a kind of orange with very small green and yellow mica metallic effect. Looked boring in grey weather, but really well in sunshine ;) Those Recaro's felt more tight and supportive and hold you well in corners. I think the perfect version of Recaro's would be the Corrado one, with Golf side support for the back ;) Here's a pic: And one of my projects for the Golf: I think these Recaro's rebuilt to be electrical like the Corrado Recaro's would be the perfect carseats for the Corrado. Note the bolsters!!!: Cheers, Redfox.

Thanks. Cheers, Redfox.

Yep, a lot better in those Fords (like the Golf 2 ones, but with adjustable knee-support. Anne t: Those are also made by Recaro, but not the ones I mean. The Corrado ones (normal seats) have the backrest adjustment wheel sitting higher than on a Golf 2. So I think yours are off another Golf 2. Noce seats btw. Cheers, Redfox.

Great. Now, how about a G60 one Dave? Ups Dave, I forgot to take a picture. It's been pouring down, so will try to see tomorrow. Cheers, Redfox.

Ah, I think I can see 1 little speck of dust flying over from the neighbour towards your Corrado ;) Very nice. Nah, REALLY nice ;) Cheers, Redfox.

Congrats. Sure family is allways the important thing. But in my humble view, a Corrado is a fine car, also for a new family. A strange thing happened a few times in my street. A couple gets a child, and voila, the small minicar, becomes a maximum estate model. Very strange. In the 196'ies and 70'ies and also today, when money or belief is in power, this is not needed (the estate car). As a former banker, money wise, selling the car will only give you relief for a while, then you may (or may not hopefully) need to sell something else. And so on. Seen it many many times. Good luck and best of wishes. Cheers, Redfox.

Hi 4eyes2wheels, May i ask what short shift you have fitted? Cheers, Redfox.

hehe... :black: :g60: Mark: yes, but not where I am from. Anyway, at that time, I was out running a 10 miles course, to be in shape for driving the Corrado ;) No VWVW, I cannot, as i don't want a sue on my shoulders ;) Anyway I drive with Eibach arbs, and after a 4 wheel alignment and adjustment, I have no more scraping ;) Very nice. Cheers, Redfox

Spoke to the importer the other day, as my thick 22mm front arb is scraping on the track arms, like some other people have also niticed on their Corrados. Never a problem to the Golf 2 version though. He told me, that manufacturer will honor the original customers, should they have any trouble after installing the product correctly and being the first owner, and having bought it via official channels (no grey import), and after making sure front end is correctly setup and adjusted. As a compensation and to redeem their good name, the company will exchange the front arb to a modified one, together with all relevant bushed, anchilaries etc. That's what I call good service ;) As if it wasn't enough, they will via the importers, contact the owners or vice versa, and invite Corrado owners toa trackday, handling day at Nürburgring (closed track day) for max benefit demonstration of their products. This way, they hope to show their customers a healthy company policy, and to end the eternal scraping discussions on fora's etc. I think that is a very nice thing to do, and wil def. join them that day. Transport is on ones own expense to and from the track, but include a lunch, tea, coffee etc. Discounts on products such as springs etc is also in the forge. Cheers, Redfox :black: :g60:

And that is why I asked. I think the Golf ones offer better sidesupport. I am keeping them anyway, but I just thought about why VW downgraded the seats from Golf 2 edition One, to Corrado. The Golf 3 also have bigger sidebolsters, but not the same as Golf 2. I mean the Corrado can go pretty fast. So the driver and passenger (two in total) will have to sit tight and not bounce about. Not that I am doing that, but I still feel a difference from Edition One Recaro's. I can well understand the idea of different levels of design and equipment in a carmodel. No prop. But top of theline version with all the goodies must in my humble view have the best of the best. I think the lower part is the same, so is the backrest itself. So that leaves teh back sidesupport to be the only difference. And electrics of course. Maybe it's true that at the time the Corrado was on the market, there was no longer interest in the big bolster design, but more slim descreete ones. The rear seats, on the contrary, are so enourmously better in the Corrado, than any Golf, also the newest. Just ain't space to sit there ;) No way I am going to carry anyone in the rear seats. Ever. And the passenger front seat belongs to my wife ;) Them A8 certainly looks good ;) Cheers, Redfox.
