1. There is no hope! I sensibly talked with kids, parents and there is no way of solving the issue! Kid is relentlessly kicking the fakin ball off my car. Maybe I am getting paranoid, but all I can see now are scratches all around. Did manage to wash and wax it today, and as soon as I finished the kid started to kick the ball. It is too dark now, but I bet I will have a nice collection of ball stamps on my car in the morning! I know these will be there as my CCTV recorded it! I am at the bring of loosing it. I'm going to stay at this house till contract ends (7 more months), and then will try move. Thought my misses does not want to even hear about it. Says I'm paranoid, what not and that it's just the car! If it's going to carry on like this I will be forced to sell Corrado and buy Saxo or so, so I can have bit of peace in my life, what a joke!
2. Sorry to hijack thread but I might have one spare if you need. Not a brilliant condition but better in questionable condition than none at all.. if interested PM me, will give it for free.
3. Maybe take first photo and shift the car a bit to one of the sides to make it more interesting. Something along this: btw. Did I ever mention that I love your car? It looks fantastic :)
4. Hmm this has to be English thing then. Just came back as, was out for beers with some English friends (I'm Polish) and every one of them said that Hey Jude and Mccartney was lame to finish the ceremony... yet, I really liked it. It's proper British, the guy can sing (or at least it's only me who thinks that), it is an ace tune he performed and he also entertained quite nicely like several thousand people... I mean whole arena singing the Na-na-na... wow, what else do you want ? :) I'm just happy it was macca rather than dizzy rascal, or Rihana to finish the show ^^
5. You guys interested in this? I have to say I watched for the first in my life Olympics opening ceremony and I liked it a lot. It started like 9pm and was glued to monitor for strong 3hrs! Additionally, finishing with "Hey Jude" was just a class on it's own... very impressed. Wish I could be there in the Olympics Arena - must have been amazing experience. Queen looked a bit bored tho ;)
6. Forgot to mention that Jim is a top bloke, heh! Bought a watch from him.. it was so securely packed I thought there is a Holy Grail inside :) All as described and even more... receipts, warranty card, box, not a scratch on the item... basically a great sale from a great guy. Thanks.
7. Is anyone going on Saturday? I can only attend on Saturday as I'm going on holidays next day... Still planning to come for few hours on Sat, to chit-chat and take some pictures, etc...
8. Any chance of opening this page to the Public (ie, for non-Facebook users) ? Obviously non-registered users will not be able to "LIKE", but it would be still nice to see your "upcoming offers, discounts and competitions" :)
9. Yes. I am powering my camera through USB socket, so basically as soon as USB get's power it starts recording, once I remove my car key it then powers off. It also provides continuous recording, so once you fill all memory, it will delete automatically the "oldest ones" to keep recording new stuff. Quite useful thing, I hope will never have to use it, but one never know. Also, I recorded quite a lot of "road rage" by other drivers, including bikers. It's insane how bad some drivers are... I mean I am from Poland - the land of wild west on the roads - and still I am surprised sometimes what is happening on UK roads ^^
10. Hah, I spotted one! Heading with misses to get some Nandos we took a wrong turn and ended up in a completely wrong place... (think it was Meanwood Leeds @ around 8pm - time on the video is completely wrong so ignore that). It was green, think VR6, well have a look...
11. Chuck Norris would possibly help, if only was not so busy with counting to infinity... So far apparently he succeeded twice :)
12. My issue is the fact that my drive way is on the same side as theirs (it just a low fence dividing it). When they kick the ball, they do it on their driveway... but simply saying every several minutes their ball lands on my car. It would not be an issue if they would decide to kick the ball for like an hour a day or so... but for past 2 weeks it was from 6:30pm till 22:30pm - non-stop. Seriously, all the freaking time! On their side of driveway on one side they have a garage door (hence thud, thud, thud) and on the other way there is a metal gate (so once the ball is kicked to it, it makes that massive rattly metal noise). I can live with noise, I don't mind it at all... but it is very difficult for me to accept the fact of ball landing on my car. Like I said I have a home made CCTV camera and everyday, I have recording of 5-10 times of ball on my car. I cannot stop them from playing ball on their property. Ofcourse the ball should not be landing on my side... but you know, it just does it all the time. I will talk to parents this weekend. But I need to talk to the day rather to mum.. as she will go defensive mode straight away I can feel it already. I just never encounter such issues in my life. Yeah I had noisy neighbours in the past, or something along the lines. But "noise" doesn't do damage... freaking ball on my car does! My biggest worry is that if I start to fight over this, kids being kids will make it their mission to ruin the car even more... it is so frustrating! Maybe I am just stressing over silly thing... but it is really affecting my daily routine. I am at work now, and cannot stop thinking about it! Last night, decided to not think about it.. just ignore it and get on with life, but it is almost impossible due to the ball being so loud - you just wonder if it's hitting just fence, gate or maybe your car! horror...
13. Think I will do just that Wendy. Kids are actually really friendly. I mean how can you be angry at 6 yr old girl - even though she scratched your car. It's not like she did in in purpose! The older guy and his foot ball, well... he's older so should understand bit more. Besides I am in fear if I will go crazy about all this, it will just make things worse... so will try to keep it all nice and tidy. Thanks for some good advice and also for the less realistic ones ^^Think I just had to let it out of my system.
14. Maybe I am getting paranoid, I built myself a home CCTV camera using old PC and linux zoneminder. It does work, records all triggered alarms. But I feel really embarrassed going to neighbors, and tell parents about the havoc their kids are causing. Especially since I have just moved in. What really annoys me is the fact.. it was suppose to be nice house where I can relax myself, but as soon as I come back from work only thing I can hear is thud, thud, thud, thud... of the balls bouncing of the walls, fence, my car, etc... Fact is I have a nice scratch now on the bonnet and a little one next to the O/S mirror. This is only 2 months after I moved in - simply saying proper damage is inevitable at this rate! What's next window? cracked bumper? broken mirror! I somehow feel very depressed by this! I will just see how it goes... in worst case scenario will move again (contract signed for a year now)... Keeping car garaged is a way, but this is my daily (only car) so I am using it day-in / day-out. I've moved in on border of Chapel Allerton and Moortown, very close to Scotts Hall Road. ps. I just wish you all guys to have nice neighbors, big garage and no problems of the ones I have. It's really, really stressing.
15. Guys I have a real problem. Just over 2 months ago I moved in to my new house. Driveway, garden, big house ... all perfect but: Freaking neighbours kid's all over the place. Ball being kicked all day long. I've seen ball bouncing of my car on several occasions. I did mentioned that to the kid that I do not wish seeing his ball on my car. But that didn't really help. So far I have been very friendly towards them... you know in the end of the day they are just kids. (like 6yr and 13yr). They don't really understand the concept of looking after someone elses car. I mean, they parents drive a Daewoo Matiz, which is like bent and scratched from every side... a really poor looking thing. So obviosuly they are allowed to do with the car whatever they want. I really do not want this to happen to my car. I had such a great plans for my car, including respray - but why should I bother if it's going to get ruined by the kids and they freaking balls! You know, they are nice kids, I do not want to sound like a horror neighbour - but how can I make it clear what is allowed and what is not. I will not be able to stop them from kicking the ball, it will end up on my driveway (and car) from time to time. But if I can at least limit that somehow... I'm totally out of ideas. I have no gate on my driveway and no possibility of getting one (I am renting), so I can't just close the gate and buy a super aggressive dog. How would you approach this? Should I talk to parents in first place rather than to kids? At all cost I would like to keep as friendly atmosphere as possible, they are nice Asian family... but I am dragging coming back home after work more and more. At work at least my car is safe! Ehh... it is really beyond me... last night I saw this girl doing something to my car's bonnet with her hand... This morning I saw nice two scratches (nails? bracelets?)... I can't tell her off.. she's like 6 year old! There are times I wish I bought Nissan Micra, I would have none of these problems...
16. Agree. Found the cleaner to work just better overall. Rain-X is not as refined as some other products. But at the same time I can clean all outside glass in like 5-10 mins - I usually do this on my lunch brake at work. Also the other day applies Rain-x to my bathroom miror... and hey ho nice bedding of water in my house. My misses is happy at least :D
17. Hi Jim, yeah I will send the money tonight. I need to be at home (...I'm at work now) to transfer money tho, as Barclays require "special calculator" to do it. These watch is great.. been looking at few other sites. I'm loving it even more, also will never every have to replace battery - how good is that :) Phones does indeed show the time, but nowadays rubbish phones (smartphones) last like a day or two max... what I'f I am stranded on a desert and cannot recharge? At least I will know how long till 5 o'clock tea :)
18. Hi, if VR6 will decide not to buy I will buy it off you Jim. Been tempted for a while and decided to also show interest. It's a nice watch :)
19. I think it could be something to do with some scheduled backups maybe? When we were on old platform few weeks ago. It was also happening around 23:50 - 00:20 forum was not available almost every day. Then it was back up and running at around 00:30 Now we are on new server at time seems correct too... as our forum was down at around 00:00 .. but this time it was showing that nginx error. Wanted to make screenshot and I did it, but forgot to save into file, and screenshot now lost. Maybe something in crontab is start cache clearing or sth along the lines, backups? Hopefully Apache logs will tell you... it is bang on 00:00 +/- 15 mins each way. Happened at least 4 times to me at that hour (and only that hour). Hope this helps. edit: As far as my memory goes it was complaining about this file: /cannot remember path exactly/conf/nginx.conf and I think you're right it was error 503... but I really can't remember now :(
20. Wow so it looks you have to go to Africa to spot one, nice one! Excluding mine I haven't seen one in months... Seen a lot of them at Elsecar, but excluding that, just no Corrado's on West Yorkshire roads at all :( Frankly speaking, haven't seen many mk1, mk2 or old Sciroccos either. Bit strange, maybe cause it rains so much ... everyone keeps them hidden in fear of rust :)
21. It is still available (for free). Mine arrived on Friday: ps. Quality of the picture is really bad (my phone) but in real life it looks much better.

roof trims

Agree. This technique works great :) Previous owner somehow managed to unhook front peg in my car and instead of refitting it properly he glued front of trim to the car! ehh. But did what Kip suggested and whoila.. all nicely fitted as should be (minus horrible glue!)
