  1. Thanks John, didn't know you cared  Point taken, not really looking for or expecting better performance but there is a definite improvement in the smoothness of the idle which as I said could've been due to the old leads. One thing I was particularly pleased with was the condition of the old plugs which were coloured exactly as they should be - no signs of all deposits etc.
  2. If nothing else the car seems to be idling better - maybe my old leads were getting past it as they are 12 years old and the originals. I'll live with the blue for now, I can always buy some of the black OEM's from Beru later.
  3. Just fitted some new platinum plugs today and while I was at it thought I'd stick on a set of blue Magnecor leads I've got. Not sure if I like them on a Blackberry car. What do you think?
  4. Really worth the trip Jim if you value your C as much as I know you do :)
  5. Got my dual pole sender from Merlin, thought they'd work in a valver but it's so long since I had the Golf 16v wasn't quite sure about the oil cooler and sender arrangement - you can go for it now Jim :)
  6. In theory should work on all Jim provided the 16V has the 2 oil pressure switches on the oil cooler which I think they do if they're they same as the Mk2 Golf 16v IIRC. Ok Paul, Nice interior finishing touch these :)
  7. Check out this link to the Wiki guide I did, might help you too Kips. PM me if you're unsure of anything :) http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewto ... 19&t=58260
  8. Hope you allay your fears Chris and there isn't a problem with it, that's a nice car you have and I'm really looking forward to seeing it this year.
  9. Could be that the door seal or membrane is leaking and the water is running to the rear of the plastic trim on the inner sill and then into the rear footwell - particularly if the car is parked slightly uphill.
  10. Hope that's just a bit of paranoia creeping in Chris and not a real problem :D

    Recaro question

The seat base is bolted to a metal subframe. Easy to remove the whole seat - just remove the plastic runner covers, unplug the looms under the seat, undo the single nut and bolt underneath the front of the seat and then slide the seat back and remove it from the car - mind your paintwork when your taking the seat out though :)

    Recaro question

Done this several times over the years with Recaros, quite easy to do once you've split the seat back from the base and then worked out how the seat base cover is fixed. I've done it for exactly the same reason i.e. you effectively get a new bolster on the outside of both seats :D You're just up the road from me so if you get stuck, need any help give me a shout.
  13. Just bought 6 BKR5EKUP platinum plugs for £32.13 delivered off E-bay. Good price :D Item number: 270172084635
  14. The tape works fine providing you heat it up and heat the panel up when you apply it. Easy with a hair dryer. Used it on mine a couple of years ago and still stuck like the proverbial to a blanket :D
  15. Thanks Jim and Michael, really chuffed you think so. Here's a bonus pic for you :D I have many favourites from standard to heavily modded including yours.
  16. Read it again Nigel, realised I hadn't added it oops!
  17. You may be interested in this item on E-Bay Item number: 230207251271 :D Remember the car well from a number of shows when Andy had it. Incidentally the plate was sold to someone I know who put it on on an Edition1 Golf G60. The Golf was later sold with the plate and eventually written off so I suspect it's on retention somewhere.
  18. Cheers Bill. I take it you go up through the wheel arch or is it accesable from the boot area somehow? The cars not to hand so i cant look right now. Hi Ben, You can access it from beside the filler neck once you've removed the rubber boot. Problem is you're working blind, but it's so simple and clever (typical VW) once you manage to work it out. Just be patient and don't try to prise it out or it'll just break.
  19. When did any kid with a car ever listen to their parents  I'm probably older than them but still a kid at heart who just wants to own and run a 'C' and I'm not the only one on here - just tell them that
  20. Looking rather sweet Zak, it's too good to drive over winter TBH :) Guess you'll get to that way of thinking eventually like I did. What colour have you painted your calipers, they look kind of bronze in the pic, oh and the car's a great colour but then I'm slightly biased
  21. You need to remove the plastic lock piece from behind. IIRC there's a small tab or something on it which you need to move with a screwdriver to be able to remove it. I't's a cheap part if it breaks providing it's not obsolete now.
  22. Me too Torsten, but I'm poor so can only afford 1 set :(
  23. Think it's essentially a Scorpion 5000 and is not now rated Thatcham Cat 1.
  24. Don't forget the ACE 109 alloys :)
