Anyone got a good condition ie doesn't need painting VR bonnet in aqua blue pearl? Mines ok but really faded so to run car before full respray will need another bonnet.

When I come to refit my front wings, what is the best mastic to use to seal the vertical join at the rear of the wing? Is there anything from the dealers available or can I use any sort of body shop mastic? Thanks.

Si, Thanks for the reply - it stutters when warm, although I've not yet had it on the road due to doing a lot of work to it. When I put my foot down a little it seems to nearly stall, but more throttle and it revs through the stutter. Also from idle to full throttle, ie no part throttle, it "rumbles" as if it is missing, but clears the more it revs. The coil body is cracked, but as I mentioned it is next to one of the bolts that fasten it to the engine, so it could be that, and also it is low on fuel - better get some in and see from there. I know a new coil from AVS is £123, not bothered if that's what's needed, but obviously not 100% certain yet. Thanks, Tim.

Hi, Any pointers as to how to sort the following: Vr6, not driving and on a light throttle opening the engine bogs down and almost stalls, but as soon as I put my foot down more it will rev quite happily to the red line. It almost feels like it clears its throat and smooths out the more throttle I give it - could this be a coil problem, as I can see a small crack in the coil body, but on the side near a bolt, rather than where the leads connect. I have already fitted plugs and new leads. Cheers, Tim.

Be very careful - I've had exactly the same issue with mine - 1995 VR, with small spring plates which are not very deep at all. I have just bought some Weitec GT shocks and springs, and the springs are too wide for the spring plates, which if I used them would fall inside the spring.Having read up on this forum I thought I needed some early VR spring plates, which are a lot wider and would fit the springs. They do indeed fit, but the problem is they are too deep compared with the original ones, so what starts out as a 40mm drop becomes less than half that due to the depth of the early spring plates. One option is to buy some narrow springs like PI at around £109!! Needless to say I'm not going to do that, so will be cutting the top off the wide spring plates and welding on the tops of the original ones, hopefully will have a decent drop and springs which fit the plates. Ray, When you say plastikote trigger gun, I presume you mean it will fit standard spray paint cans? I've seen them on the bay but assumed they were plastikote cans only. Tim.
